We always park below and meet up here as there are many tables and seating areas that are never too crowded. The only thing that bugs me is that they do not offer a full time open restroom to wash up in. Most open air outdoor mall style businesses always have a nice restroom to go to but not this one.

This is a nice outdoor shopping center, it's a mini-boutique of sort with various businesses, not nearly robust enough to consider a mall, shopping center or strip mall in the traditional sense of scope and size. In fact, if not for the Metlox sign and name I would mistaken it for just a bunch of independent businesses in the neighborhood retail community along Manhattan Beach Blvd. It has little branding or marketing that makes it cohesive as a shopping center. I'd recommend figuring out a way to provide free parking (and not just during the holidays) and maybe discounts or some sort of promotion to bring awareness out that this exists as a shopping center. There's good stores here, many are unique boutiques and others are chain or franchise locations of bigger businesses. There's food too.

Nice little shopping plaza on Manhattan blvd. They have tons of great restaurants and nice open courtyard where you can enjoy the sun. My fav spots are the le pain and lemonade. For dinner I like Nicks. Easy parking downstairs that are metered. There's also another open lot the next block over. The ramps are quote tight so I prefer not to park at that one.

Got the vegetarian bahn mi. It was delicious. The bread positively crackled when I bit into it - heads turned, and I was the envy of all.

As the owner of three dogs, I can say they pee, poo, and sometimes bite when they're grouchy. They just don't belong in a very family-friendly place - and I can't make an exception for Cream Puff. Moving on... There's a pretty good mix of stores for everyone in a fairly small footprint, plus plenty of food, drinks, and treats. I've never had an issue parking, either. Come to think of it, it's a pretty darn good place that should please most people, though apparently not everyone. I like The Point. My wife loves Evereve. It's close to my house, parking is easy, and it's nice to sit outside while my wife shops. I've even enjoyed a beer while hanging out. Solid 4.5 to 5 stars. Let's go 5 for now!

There's a green area in the middle with seating and is popular with families with young kids. There was a stage set up for special events. When we arrived for dinner, there was a lot of parking available. But when we left around 7 pm the lot had filled up and the common area was filled with families. I think there was an event with fake snowflakes as I saw a lot of melted ice all around. It must have been fun for the kids. I saw a number of new stores that I didn't see the last time we were there, such as Lululemon and Yeti. This is an enjoyable place to visit.

I go to this mall for one thing, Entry to the AMC Movie theater which is on the 2nd floor…read more. I have been going here for years. These past couple of years I have noticed store closures. Stores have been closing due to the lack of business in this mall. At current status, its a Ghostown! Shopping is really non existence. "Its rather creepy." Its a sad situation to see that so many businesses are closing down. There is talk that this mall will completely close for good, maybe a couple of years from now. Rumor has it that this mall will be demolished for condos or some type of housing real estate investment? Overall I would come back! Its probably a good time to shop at this mall now since everything will be in liquidation soon. As for now, every stores is giving some type of discounts. No congestion, no traffic and plenty of parking. The mall is clean. I advise to look out for some deals. I seen discounts here and there that is ridiculously great! Lots of history at this mall. Going to be sad to see when this place gone.

Review #606 2025-095…read more I'm backtracking my review count because the original #606 was for defunct Bird Talk Chicken that "it was removed due to the review & photos posted appears to depict a YEE" (I went back the next day because my fam really loved their food so it's unrelated). Anyways, the last time I've been to South Bay Galleria was in 2019, & dined at a few restaurants & shopped at a few stores: Sunny Side Up Deli & Grill (refer to Review #272), Fresh Splash (refer to Review #273), Cafe Meli Mellow (refer to Review #434), Crazy 8 (refer to Review #372), H & M, Payless Shoe Source, etc. Post pandemic, I only recently visited a handful of times for a Yelp event at French Touch (refer to Review #790), birthday parties at Wonder of Dinosaurs, Urban Youth Parks, & most recently, I went to an event at Orange Door Spaces with fellow mom from SBCS & watched a movie at the AMC Dine-In with my Yelp gal pal, Lily W. South Bay Galleria opened in 1985 & housed anchor stores like Nordstrom, Mervyns, Macy's. I started coming here in the late 1990s when I moved to the South Bay. I noticed declining foot traffic (likely because the food court lines have gotten shorter) since the departure of Mervyns in 2008 or 2009, followed by Nordstrom, & more store closures. Their foot court is on the 3rd level with a handful of eateries distributed on other levels. South Bay Galleria will be undergoing major redevelopment from its traditional shopping mall into a mixed-use complex. News vary from residential units, hotel, with commercial spaces & a parking garage on the surrounding parking lots, with the potential of some original buildings remaining, though a significant portion will likely be demolished to make way for the new development. There's not as much shopping opportunities/retail stores as there are experiences: Battleground (competitive multi-player story driven free roam VR experience), VR Place (10 station VR experience), QuestRoom (escape rooms), Skate Farm (skating rink), Funshare Arcade (arcade games, claw machines, ticket redemptions), Cherished Memories (elective 2D/3D/4D sonogram), Zen Relax (massage). Peekaboo Bin Store might be interesting, a sort of bargain hunt/discount, last chance store. Mall hours are short, & opened from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM. If you're here for the movies in the evenings, park in the structure & exit at Level 4 to enter the empty mall (I was lucky to run into security patrolling the grounds to learn about this outside Q). I don't feel very comfortable here at night due to the parking lot's desertedness, but am glad to see security both times when I was here at Orange Door Spaces & AMC. I'm not sure if I'll be returning any time soon, but my kiddos are curious about VR & may stop by Battleground or VR Place, & possibly QuestRoom (are escape rooms still a thing?). Sad to see this once bustling mall fade away.
