Amazing coffee spot in Chicago- we went there after learning they are in the top 100 list of coffee shops in the world. It did not disappoint! The lemongrass squash loaf was excellent- so lemony and light. The pain au chocolat was also perfect. You can tell the coffee is super fresh because they roast it onsite. I also love that they don't up charge for different milk options. They also have a lot of tea and seasonal drink options as well! They had matcha, chai and London Fog. The seating is located outside so the shop is mostly order, grab your drink and go. But it was so nice to sit outside in the morning on a warm day. Service was also great! No complaints.

I came here for a warm and cozy drink on a winter day. Its a small coffee shop where you can pick up coffee. Keep in mind there aren't any seats, except in the summer their small patio area is available for sitting. Otherwise it's meant to be a pick up spot. I was in the mood for something sweet so I got a seasonal winter drink, the maize mocha. It was good and not too sweet, but definitely very pricey for what it was. For $10 I guess I don't know what I was hoping for. I do think that it's probably best to try their standard coffees, which is better priced and what they're known for. I will probably be back to try that! The service itself was friendly and efficient. There is also limited street parking but it's free and I was able to snag a spot on a weekday afternoon.

Take out only, which I had not anticipated. My drink was priced at $10, not overly friendly -- quintessential hipster vibes in the not great way. They experiment with flavors I haven't seen in other mainstream coffee roasteries, my drink had corn milk and I think clove in it, for example (maybe explains the price?). The shop was not for lingering in, very much a get out ambiance despite the rather nice aesthetics of the warm barn woods, real plants, and white subway tile.

Espresso and house made donut. Outstanding.

Love Metric. It's on the pricey side, but it's also high quality. If you are price sensitive, this place isn't for you. Not a ton of seating (all outdoors). It's really a grab and go spot.

The shop is an order counter, and the seating is outdoors. Got an iced matcha latte and an afternoon tea bun. The pastry was very yummy - very soft and flavorful. Waited a while, but it was very busy. I am so glad there is a coffee shop in this area because there are not many good options around.

This is a small coffee roaster in the West Town area of Chicago. There is no inside seating but they do have some outdoor seating. I should also mention that is an actual roastery, and today they were doing a tour. They offer drip, pour overs, specialty coffees, teas, and pastries. The service was okay but could have been more welcoming. I ordered a mocha, and it was really good. I would recommend this establishment.

Cute cafe off Fulton. No indoor seating but plenty of seats outside. It's lovely inside and staff are friendly. I have been wanting to try this place for the past year and finally made it here. It was great bc I could come on my bike with my dog. I just ordered an almond milk latte. The mugs are cute and the latte art was solid (sometimes baristas don't steam plant milks well - not the case here). The coffee is acidic for my tastes but everyone has their preferences.

Easily one of my favorite coffee shops I visited in Chicago. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and their selection of pourovers is top-tier. I ordered their geisha pourover, and it was amazing. The balance of flavor notes was spot on. I liked it so much I ended up buying a bag, and they threw in a free drip to go with it. That gesture really stood out to me. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for any coffee lover visiting the city.

I like coffee I don't drink it everyday.I'm a fan of the TV show called the Bear. Metric coffee is in some episodes and when I found out I said to myself I should try this coffee. There's a normal menu and a summer menu. I went with the espresso cream soda. There's espresso, vanilla syrup, some kind of soda water. Might have been topo Chico or another kind of carbonated water. I was pleased with this coffee beverage. I've had espresso tonics from other coffee shops when it's warm out. I like the espresso cream soda because it's little sweeter compared to espresso Tonic. It is small in there but line doesn't move too slowly. Some folks are complaining about lack of parking. I have good news. About a year ago CTA opened a green line stop at Damen and it's a very quick walk. Also some bus stops not terribly far.

Such good flavors and so many great basic options. They have outside patio seating and the line goes by really fast. The chai latte is one of the best I've had in the city!!

Seasonal lemon poppy seed matcha was fine. Would not return for it was $9.12 without upgrading milk, and was not that good. Very small cafe, but a nice place to sit outside. Service was good despite it being busy,

Went here on a Saturday morning with some friends. I was really in the mood for tea rather than coffee, so I got their seasonal tea and it was like a warm hug! Tasted so very good with some sugar added to it (cause I have a sweet tooth) The only thing is that there is no seating when the patio is closed. So it's pretty much a to go spot.

Solid coffee, cool location, some nice outdoor patio seating. Coffee was pretty good, pastries were ok.

I love the coffee, but it is pretty pricey, otherwise I'd give 5 stars. Still one of my favorite places to get coffee in the city.

Best coffee in the city, hands down. Quick service, small quaint inside just big enough to order and shop for merch or coffee bags to go.

I ordered 5 coffees one morning, and all the register guy did was write a few names on some cups and placed it down. I understand tipping culture is a divided topic of discussion, but at the end of the day, it is OPTIONAL. After pressing the skip button from what I believe to be non-tip worthy service, he threw a fit and said "Wow you're serious? After I did all that?" Meanwhile all he did was write names on cups. Now I would understand if he was the barista working hard to pump out the coffees, but two lovely ladies were in the back doing that. He shooed me and my friend out of line as we were still processing what he just said. The next customer orders and he had the audacity to talk about us to them while we're 5 feet away. Delusional as he was, he had the nerve to say we were holding up the line and made him do "all that work", and I could promise you, we knew exactly what we wanted to order the second we got up, and took no longer than 45 seconds. We also witnessed he got into it with another customer, so it seems like he's the problem here. Most wild service I have ever received, all for some milky coffees. I ended up tipping the lovely ladies in the back though. Be warned. There are much better spots.
