I had thought my issue was my capacitor but after replacing it myself, that didn't resolve the issue so I needed to bring someone else in to look. They arrived so quickly, within just a couple of hours and on the early end of the window provided. They sent a text with tracking information so I could see how far away they would be also. Immediately, the technician asked a couple of questions to determine the issue. He explained the different symptoms and why he would check where he did first. It turned out to be a switch that was accidentally turned off on my furnace, super simple fix. I felt so dumb! He encouraged me and helped me to not feel so bad about not checking there first. He even went to check the repair that I had done myself to assure it was done correctly while he was here and verified all was well, even giving me little tips to make sure I didn't get a shock from the removed capacitor. I would absolutely recommend them and will contact them for any future (legitimate) issues I may have. Oh, and so respectful to even have removed his shoes to not walk on my newly installed carpeting.

one star because zero isn't an option…read more Excuses and delays are all this company offers. Slow to respond, two visits over three weeks and still no repairs or plans. If you have a home warranty these guys do NOT have any sense of urgency to help. In the mean time the house is over eighty degrees inside with fans going everywhere. They won't be out again until the four week marker and that won't even be to make a repair. They will supposedly decide then and kick the can down the road again for repairs. Summer will possibly be over before they make good. I SUGGEST CHOOSING ANOTHER CONTRACTOR.

I decided to sign up for the yearly service plan, because of the quality services that I receive from Kyle. My original assessment of Thornton grooms was a one star, but I've upgraded it to a five star based on this appointment that I had today. The only thing that I could recommend for future appointments is that Thornton and grooms provide a two hour window for serviceman to come out. Otherwise, I can highly recommend this company.

I said it seemed really high to charge $800 for a reverse osmosis faucet. I asked him to put the faucets back together and to talk with his manager about more reasonable pricing. He decided to get the pricing first. It was $600, $500, and $860, respectively, now. I said it was still high, but there was some value in getting it done today. I asked if he would be willing to check to see if the parts were in stock, and if they were, then I'd be willing to pay the high prices. He said he wouldn't do that because they probably were not in stock and he had spent to much time on my job without getting paid. I think they may work on commission. I also said while he was out talking to his manager that I learned my faucet company would send me a new cartridge for free. He asked why I didn't check before I came. Of course, I didn't know the problem until he told me during the service call. I know the one faucet is a nicer one (Waterstone), but the prices seemed outrageous. His attitude at the end when he realized he might not make a sale was the worst part of it, though.

We didn't really realize until later in the afternoon on Saturday that the air was out. C and C had installed our furnace and we've been happy with that so we decided to give them a call for the air. They were completely booked and told us to call back first thing on Sunday to get an appt that day. They also told us ahead of time the service call would be $200. It would go up to $250 on a Sunday. We said thanks and called Sunday morning right at 8 am when they opened. They already had one person ahead of us that day, and they would give us a call when they were on their way. We mentioned that we had tried to get an appt yesterday but since they were booked we had to wait until Sunday, and they honored the $200 rate for Saturday. In the meantime, I got a couple text messages from them introducing our technician, along with a photo of the tech so we would know who to expect when he got here, which I thought was great and really appreciated, especially if I was home by myself that day. I haven't had any other company do that so far and I really like the idea. The tech was efficient, clean, and wore a mask I'm the house. He diagnosed us with needing a new capacitor, replaced it, and was on his way. Everything took about 30 mins and our house is nice and cool again. Good experience with them and I would recommend

I Googled what is generally performed for standard a/c tune up. Here is what I did not see the Tech doing. Did not check refrigerant level. Did not open up furnace to inspect or clean evaporator coils. Did not test refrigerant levels. Did not lubricate moving parts. Did not test capacitors or amp draws. Asked for hot water tank flush. Mine had a weird ball drain valve. The last hot water tank installer put in to let out more sediment out from tank. It was not standard. Power Tech had to procure a fitting in order to allow garden hose type thread to be installed. It did not help that my floor drain was clogged in the basement. Another drain was located and the Tech's self coiling hose had to be stretched out to extreme extent. It put pressure on the fitting. And that made it so the water was squirting out of the fitting and getting all over the basement floor. The Tech only drained the tank once. No flushing/purging/refilling to get all the sediment out. No safety and components check. Tech should have stated a proper flushing could not be perform. Tech was on the phone much of the time. I ultimately left the room so tech could take his calls.

STAY AWAY! I…read morecontacted Absotemp because my air conditioner broke -- right before a heat wave. I was told that there was a service charge of $90 and was given a 4 hour window. Matt, apparently the owner of the company, came a few minutes after the end of that window, a couple minutes after 4:00 p.m. (BTW, he smelled of pot.) When he got here, he asked what the problem was & I explained that the air conditioner wasn't working. He immediatey went to the furnace. I told him I wasn't having trouble with the furnace, it was the air conditioner. He then proceeded to tell me that they are connected, my furnace is old and inefficient, and possibly dangerous. He spent a lot of time looking at it and taking pictures. He then got a phone call and was gone for about 15 minutes. He came back and continued explaining to me about the different kinds of furnaces. I reminded him that I called him about the air conditioner. He asked what kind of thermostat I had and then he finally went to look at the air conditioner. He said that was old as well (both were probably original and from the 1970s), but he couldn't figure out when. He called someone about tracing the model, but they couldn't do it either. He then came back into the house & said he'd go into his truck and write up an estimate. An hour and a half later, I went outside to see if he was still here. All of his prices were really high. And again, it was AIR CONDITIONING repair that I contacted him about. After he asked if I had any questions, I said, "I asked you to come out because of the air conditioning. Can you do anything about it?" He huffed and went outside. He came back in after a couple minutes and said that it was the motor fan and "There's nothing I can do about, it Sweetie." :O (That was the second time he called me that!) When I asked if he had any suggestions, he said "Stay in the basement." It was not said with humor. He then asked for a check ("or an ACH") -- AND HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING except waste nearly 4 hours of my time. I had 3 other companies come out after that. Not a single one charged for an estimate, they didn't take ridiculous amounts of time, and they didn't try to oversell me. Needless to say, I chose a different company.
