Wowowowow! They repaired my beautiful Volvo cx40 that a truck tore through during an accident to MINT condition. Their customer service is Top notch. This is my first ever review. I am doing this only because Metro Autobody are miracle workers that have made my life exponentially easier multiple times. I moved to NYC from DC about 4 years ago. I've since had 2 accidents on these crazy streets from car service drivers and boy racers hitting me. I drive a 2014 VW GTI. I'm extremely meticulous about my car so when it was T-boned on the driver's side the first time I was upset and confused about where to take it to get repaired. It made me sick and wondered if it would ever be the same. To make matters worse, NYPD would not allow me to select which auto body shop towed the car from the scene of the accident. My car was taken to a sketchy back alley chop-shop-looking place that will remain nameless. Thankfully I found Metro Autobody. I spoke with Reed over the phone who sent an associate with a tow truck immediately to pick me up from my house and drove me to the other shop to rescue my car. My car was transported safely to Metro Autobody and the extensive amount of repairs to the driver's side were done in about two weeks. Reed was in constant communication with me the entire time and helped me navigate the insurance claims maze. When I picked up my car, I could barely believe my eyes. I know this sounds cliche, but it truly looked better than when I drove it off the lot of the dealership. The interior and exterior were detailed and sparkling. It drove, sounded, and looked like a dream. One year later, driving home from work, a clown boy racer passed me illegally and sideswiped my driver's side again. Again, Metro Autobody turned back time and had my car looking like nothing had ever happened. This time they completed the repairs in under a week. Trust me on this. I live some 45 miles north of NYC and was involved in an accident in Manhattan. When the police finally showed up they arranged a tow using Metro Auto Body out of Queens. I didn't know these guys at all and was very wary of the entire process. When they arrived, the gentleman was very polite and professional and promised to take good care of me. He mentioned that they were one of the good guys in auto body and not to worry. He even said they would deliver the fixed car to me at my home. I didn't believe any of this and decided I was going to have the car towed upstate for repair. Unsure of what to do I decided to read some reviews about Metro to see if they were as good as they claimed. The reviews, especially from the out of NYC customers, were very favorable so I decided to have the car fixed there and hoped for the best. The entire process could not have gone smoother. The car was towed and all of the insurance work was coordinated by Metro. All I had to do was get the check. The car was completed within a week and, even though they are not a NYS inspection station, they were even able to have the car inspected for me. They delivered the car to my home and the repair looked fabulous. I expected to have a big cleaning job since cars with body repairs rarely come home clean but was again surprised to find the car had been detailed before being delivered. The car was actually cleaner coming home from the body shop than when it went in. I cannot recommend Metro enough. They treated a total stranger like family, handled the entire process with minimal involvement from me, did a fabulous repair job and kept every promise made. Don't hesitate to use them. read more

Can't comment on any auto body work. I only went here to retrieve items out the car after being hit by a fire truck. I told reed that my designer frames were missing out my car, he didn't even pick his head up to acknowledge me. He continued texting on his phone while his feet were propped up in the other chair and stated there's nothing he can do. When I asked him how should I proceed he shrugged his shoulders. Even if he could not be of any assistance proper customer service should have been the standard. I can't believe I'm about to write a glowing review about a body shop in NYC, but these guys actually earned it. My BMW got side swiped by a truck on the West Side Highway a few weeks ago. While waiting for the police and the Geico tow truck to come, a guy from this shop drove by and pointed out the obvious--my wheel was bent off the axle and the car was not drive-able (pretty sure his name was Tony). Despite my initial mistrust over his Capt. Obvious observation, and my natural skepticism (I'm a lawyer in NY, sue me), we had a very candid conversation about the damage. Tony assured me that his boss would do solid work, and quickly. Of course, I was still skeptical because this dude had just rolled up to the scene of my accident and was now waxing poetic about how his shop on Astoria Blvd would do right by me. Still, we kept talking, he was insanely friendly, and waited with me for the full hour and 15 minutes the NYPD took to show up (and subsequently blow off the idea of actually having to do paperwork). Anyway, we handled the towing and release work while waiting -- he had convinced me to try them out, even after I used my Yelp app and pointed out that there were 2 terrible reviews on here -- and my car was properly flat-bedded away. instead of being towed. This is critical for an AWD car such as mine. I still felt like I was taking a risk, but Geico had already assured me they did work with Metro before and that the work would be guaranteed in any case. From then on, I got regular, daily calls from Metro A/B to update me on my car's status, even though I couldn't hunt down Geico's adjuster for the life of me. He took 10 days to arrive and appraise the car, but Metro A/B already got in touch with BMW about the proper parts and were ready to do the work; hence they completed repairs within a week of Geico FINALLY getting things done on their end. I must say, I was incredibly satisfied with the customer service. The work was fantastic, the car looked brand new, and they detailed it. My car had accumulated probably several hundreds of dollars of random scratches and a couple dents due to NYC parking that they gladly fixed for free without my asking. They also worked with Geico on adjusting some previous damage, and were able to give me a virtually new car. To top it off, they waived both deductibles for work that ended up combining 2 claims (so I was on the hook for quite a bit). Overall it was such a fantastic experience that I'm going to recommend this spot to anyone and everyone. If you check out some of my previous reviews, you'll see that this is truly high praise. I normally use my Yelp powers to steer people away, instead of laying on additional praise. I'm still stunned, shocked, and surprised by the level of service I got here; I mean this is a body shop in Queens that I'd never otherwise come across even though I go to an absurd amount of Mets games. SHADY PLACE if you dont have full coverage and will do extra damage to your car

Got into an accident in manhattan on 3rd ave. My car was a total reck! Metro auto body came to the scene and towed the car to there shop. Next morning I spoke to a guy named Joe. He sounded very shady and sounded like he wanted to just make a sale on me. He told me he can have my geico adjuster come on Friday (2 days later) to take a look and get an estimate on the car. I told him we can get an estimate but I'm still not sure if I want to leave the car by you or take it to BMW direct. He said it's not a problem. Friday came and the adjuster showed up gave us a 25k quote. I said to myself 25k is a big number and I never heard of metro before so I wanted to take my car direct to BMW. They told me if I take it out they are going to charge me $1500..... All BS fees. So I was forced to use them. Got my car back in 2 weeks and car is brand new! They even fixed parts that they didn't have to and have the car a nice wash. Reason for a 4 star and not 5 is because the way they dealt with me in the beginning by forcing me to use them with that $1500 fee to take my car out. Overall car came out mint. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to this time. Don't trust this place as they will give you a run around and refuse accurate information. My car was towed there after an accident and they told me right away in one glance that it was totaled. Knowing that it was just a busted headlight and a dislodged fender I found that hard to believe. When I asked for an estimate they knew it would be over $5000 but wouldn't actually conduct one and wouldn't put anything in writing. When I arrived to get the car I was told it would not drive although I knew it would. The car drove fine and I took it to a trusted body shop who estimated damages at $900. These guys have a deal with the cops and are used to dealing predominately with insurance companies so will therefore try to wrangle you out of your vehicle. Absolutely, Do not trust! WARNING!!! Never come here unless you want to be conned and ripped off. These guys are con artists, career criminals, and the reason why insurance premiums go up every year. They are fraudulent and will run scams with your insurance. For instance, they charged my insurance $10,000 dollars on one claim and then charged another $8,000 to my insurance for a claim which should have been $1,500. My premiums went from 250 a month to close to $500 a month. I came back for touch ups from time to time, which I believe it was fair since they had charged $18,000 out of my insurance and made much money. From that time I got quotes from them and they always tried to rip me off. For example, they would quote me 3800 to paint and repair a door that I was charged 1000 on elsewhere with the same or superior quality, they did this kind of thing several times to me, by that time I had figured out that they always jacked up the price on everything. In addition I had to get into an argument with Reed, Joe, and Joe Júnior because of all the run around they gave me and because of the fraud they committed. I ended up being told to shut the f up by Reed !! And I was called a psycho by him as well. Joe Júnior tried to intimidate me a few times and his father Joe sr. Told me that the owner did not exist when I demanded to talk to the owner, which he tells me his name is Stephen, but I have found out that this was a lie as well. One of the older guys in the back threatened to call the cops on me for trespassing when I was the one being criminally harassed and was only asking for what was rightfully mine. In addition, my car came back with headlight malfunctioning messages, they never aligned the car after the repair on the suspension, and always had a million excuses for why that was so and for Many other things which came wrong with my car after they repaired it. If you want to be treated like an idiot and threatened and have your car damaged in the process and have your insurance go up to the sky by fraudulent actions come here.
