I've been looking for a barber since my favorite place closed over in Tysons Corner during COVID. I tried this place out yesterday, and had a great experience. So there isn't a website from what I could find, but the number that's listed can be called or texted for an appointment. I texted it and got a message back after hours on the same day. I made an appointment the next day and everything went great. Lisa was the only person in the barber shop when I arrived, and she asked exactly what I wanted. I followed up by letting her know what I wanted and she went to work. I will honestly say it's the best side fade I've ever received and at a pretty great price! 5 stars+ Heading out on vacation soon and needed a last minute haircut, nearly everyone was closed early for the upcoming 4th of July weekend. I was able to call up and arrange a haircut within 30 minutes, really unprecedented. I wasn't sure what I'd receive under such short notice. The owner accommodated me into her schedule and may I say, she did a wonderful job! easily one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. And for only $30!? I'm shocked. I just took my daughter to get her hair cut here. It was fantastic. The stylist (who had great hair herself) gave my daughter the best haircut of her life. We have gotten her pixie cuts a few times and they havent been fantastic but this one was great. Even though it was an inexpensive cut ($20) for a five-year-old, the stylist gave my daughter tons of attention and used all the tools, products, hair dryer to make it look like a stylish and adult-worthy pixie cut. First I will have to point out that parking may be hard to find when you locate this place via GPS. It's on the same building but completely on the otherside next to the dental clinic. (It's a metro parking spot of some sort) But I recommend making an appointment. She is super friendly and has an ATM in the shop incase you need it. Hair cuts: She knows how to blend and how to style. She will ask your recommendation and provide some suggestion. THe 2nd time you go your haircut will be better than the first. Lisa really knows her way around a good haircut! I had been struggling to find a good barber in the Merrifield/Arlington area of Nova for some time. But after moving close by, I found Metro Barber & Salon and have been returning ever since. Lisa is quick but meticulous with her cuts and is really great with fades, especially 'subtle' ones. If you're new or just have a broad idea with what you want, she will have a suggestion or two but won't at all pressure you into something you don't want. (I'd make the personal suggestion of getting a wash to go with the cut - sometimes the extra bit in self pampering is incredibly refreshing!) The price for a mens cut is about $20-22. And for the quality of cut you receive, the price point is pretty good IMO. The shop is cash only, however there is an ATM housed inside if you're in need of it. From what I've been able to tell, it really is a one person shop. So while Lisa does take walk-ins, you're better off (and it's a bit more considerate) if you call ahead - especially if you make the mistake of walking in during 'peak' hours after work. If you have the patience, she'll definitely do her best to fit you in if there are others ahead of you and if they've called ahead. Otherwise, she will be polite enough not to waste your time and ask if you could return at a later date and time. Parking here can be a little tricky if you're not familiar with the immediate area. Street parking in front of the shop is always the hardest as residents from the surrounding condos do happen to 'camp' in those spaces from what I've been able to tell. Fortunately, there is customer parking in the Halstead II condo parking garage off of Hallstead Lane (kind of across from the District Taco). If you're a bit hesitant to park here, don't fret! There are several actual dedicated spaces specifically for the barber/salon inside the garage, so don't worry too much about finding a space there. If you're looking for a nice, clean and family-friendly place that offers quality haircuts at competitive prices, then look no further than Metro Barber & Salon! read more

Good price for (a "meh") Women's trim. Only one stylist was preset. She was limited English proficient, which normally wouldn't bother me except when I said, "3/4 inches, she thought 3-4 inches--scares the heck outta a long haired mama! Not that it was a dealbreaker, but she was also on the phone cutting my hair. Ya get what ya pay for I guess, as haircuts are $75 at my normal salon!designated "metro salon" Parking is also a bit odd just so ya know---completely opposite the salon. The price was very reasonable: $18 for a men's cut, $14 for a boy. Thing is, I asked Lisa to leave it really long on top, and I showed her with my fingers how long I wanted it to be. Very slow shop one lady (I think the owner) runs the show. Cash only business Didn't take direction really well even in her native language of Korean Only reason I would go back is because I need a last minute rush hair cut, and it's close to my apt but other than that I would rather drive to centreville from this location to hit my regular lady. read more

Best barber in the area. I've been coming here for a while because the haircuts are so great. You get what you want, consistently, and Lisa takes he time to remember you. She will even take a picture of your great haircut and store it to remember for next time. The shop is super clean, tons of parking across the street, and fair prices. Friendly service and great haircut at the right price. Lisa does a gives a good haircut. She takes her time and works to produce a clean cut. I typically just get a short fade with a trim on top which some buzz quickly through. The haircut comes with a straight razor on the back of the neck and a hot towel. It's almost impossible to get a haircut under $20 but to receive the little extras this place is a bargain. I recommend if you're looking for a quick, clean cut.
