I was visiting my Mom here in Florida for the week . I am from New York where as everyone knows has a ton of diners . I was a little hesitant at first a diner in Florida ? Well my mom said she's been there many times and how good it is . So we drove the half hour to the Brandon location they have several locations. I ordered the roasted turkey dinner with stuffing and mashed potatoes. My mom ordered the Belgian waffles with fruit . I really enjoyed my meal and the portion was plenty . Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the gravy but no big deal . My mom enjoyed her hot fresh Belgian waffles loaded with strawberries and blueberries . My mom also ordered 4 Meals to go to break down for the weeks worth of food . Tara was our waitress she was very quick and very nice . Overall good experience I'll come back .

First time visit to this location, I've only been to the one from DDD in Jacksonville. I was pleasantly surprised to see there was no line on an early Sunday morning. The location is nice and a large parking lot. The server was friendly and didn't rush us, even after we stayed and chatted for quite awhile after paying. The food came out hot and tasty.

This soup! Chicken noodle! Available daily! Piping hot and so flavorful and comforting! November 2025

I went in because I was hungry and curious. I came out happy and thankful. This cute and classic diner is in the same shopping plaza as Homegoods and Aldi... on the northeast end, in the old gym location. There's tons of parking and despite being near the busy Lumsden and Providence intersection, it feels peaceful. I stopped in on a Friday morning around 8:30 and immediately liked the ambiance. It's bigger inside than I expected-with lots of light flooding in the windows. They had some fall/Thanksgiving decorations up. It was just so welcoming. And so was the gentleman in the spectacular egg-patterned pants who showed me to my seat. He's a joy. Then came my incredible server, Danielle. She's top notch! She was warm and friendly, gave me some background on the place (so appreciated!!), some tips on the process and suggestions on meals. I felt so empowered to make good decisions. She checked on me often-brought refills of Diet Coke and sent me home with a fresh one in a to go cup. (She gets me!) I can tell you, this franchise started in Jacksonville and blew up when it appeared on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." It's known for its fried chicken and meatloaf. And you can order anything off the menu, any time of day. Which reminds me: the food! I ended up going with the fish fry Friday. Two pieces of fried fish, french fries, it comes with coleslaw but you can sub out for that (I went with green beans) and on Friday, you get a cup of soup or a house salad. I went with the chicken noodle soup-which is always available (they also have a soup du jour) and *excellent! I ate every drop. Those green beans were great, too-good snap! Most of the fries were good-slightly crispy/perfect amount of salt-but the last few weren't quite done. No matter. The fish was fine-generous portion. I thought the prices were very fair and it was so clean and cozy in there. All of the specials looked intriguing... and I really want dig into that breakfast menu. I think you can even get mimosas! Cheers to Metro Diner!

Chicken and waffles with strawberry butter. YUM!

Let me start by saying I'm not really a breakfast person but this place is an exception for me. The food is fantastic and the service is reminiscent of good ol' southern hospitality! The restaurant is bright with plenty of seating. The chicken a waffles is a must try!

Came here with my fiancé on a Saturday morning. It was pretty busy. We had to wait about 1520 minutes to get seated as expected. One thing I did notice upon entering the strong smell of chicken and waffles. It smell delicious once we got seated the waitress explained that they are known for their chicken and waffles. I personally did not get them, however did see others who had it and it was huge and looked phenomenal. It had some sort of strawberry butter as well. I recommend the cheese grits here. I would say they are the best cheese grits I have had in a long time. They do serve the breakfast and lunch menu all day. I recommend the chicken biscuit eggs Benedict. We are looking for a good breakfast or a brunch spot. Metro diner is it I will definitely be back.

From entering the door it was a pleasure. There was nice music playing and was nicely lit. The atmosphere was great. I was greeted and taken to my seat. The staff were so friendly and helpful with recommendations. I can say that they were spot on. The food came out fast, fresh and hot! When I tell you good eating , that's exactly what it was. We ordered the chicken and waffles along with the 3 egg platter. It was more than enough for the two of us. Please think about this place when you're searching for a good meal. You won't be disappointed!

Great service, affordable and tasty food. All of my favorite things! I had the blueberry lemon pancakes that were on special and it was so delicious. It came with a lemon drizzle (not overly sweet) and blueberry butter. This is a great spot for classic breakfast.

Metro Dinero chain has always been good to Us! At an affordable price you can expect plenty of delicious diner favorites. The menu also includes some rotating seasonal items and a few unique diner options. Our service was great and the kitchen was able to modify our lunch selections with no issues.

2nd visit for chicken and waffles with a friend. I know I'll butcher the spelling but our server Kiyana was great and blew my friends mind when he pushed his empty sweet tea glass out and asked for seconds and she already had it in her hand. That's skill!!!! Great lunch!

My husband and I have been going to Metro for years. We used to live Jacksonville and we started dining with them at original location. What can tell you that there food and prices have consistent over the years. My go to item : Fried chicken and Waffles with Strawberry butter . All fresh, fried just right . Cheese curls : was really good along with awesome ranch dressing. Service was great and our waitress was attentive. Ambiance is always great . Same setup at all locations. Plenty of parking.

Chicken stuffing waffle and Western Omelet

First time at Metro Diner and we really enjoyed. I am a bit biased against all the breakfast restaurants we have. Many are just the same blah food for way too much money. This is a place I will come back to. Service was fast, friendly and food was good. It was busy when we went but things still moved quickly. I tried their stuffing waffles. Made with stuffing so they were savory. The variation I chose had 2 huge chicken tenders covered in sausage gravy. This was very good. Chicken was great, super crispy and moist inside. The sausage gravy was flavorful and was a nice blend with the waffle. We also had a western omelette. This was very good. Fruit that came with was good and fresh. Sometimes "fresh fruit" is not good, but Metro was not that way. Nice and crisp and we finished. Also came with a homemade biscuit. This place is definitely one of the better breakfast options in the area. We will be back again due to the great food and service.

Bissell Breakfast

Stopped in for breakfast on a weekday around 9am. Restaurant was busy, but there was not a wait. This is part of a chain which has consistently good food and service in every location that I have visited. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favorite is the fried chicken & waffles. You can get all dark or white meat. These are not tenders, they are legs, thighs, and breasts. The Bissell breakfast is another favorite. Other menu items include all kinds of pancakes, french toast and waffles. They offer salads, meatloaf, shrimp&grits, burgers and sandwiches. The portions ate large and food very good. Plenty of parking out front.

We are happy that there is now a Metro Diner location in Brandon. When we arrived on this Tuesday morning the place was packed! That tells you something. All the staff were very welcoming which was nice. Who doesn't love a Metro Diner?!? I've been to locations all over and they are consistently good! Metro Diner has a diverse menu and there is something for everyone, even picky eaters! Our server Shannon was great!! We came for breakfast today and everything was delicious. Metro Diner is well known for their Chicken & waffles. If you've never tried them you must! They are delicious! Hours of operation are: Monday & Tuesday 7am - 3 pm Wednesday - Sunday 7am - 8 pm

This is a small restaurant with booth and table seating. As we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly server who instructed us to sit wherever we like. The menu covers everything from breakfast to dinner. My wife and I shared the ultimate skillet, which was one of the specials offered on a Saturday. It was stacked with homefries, vegetables, meats, gravy, and cheese. It was a great value at $15. The flavor was outstanding. I will mention one negative. The parking situation is not good. I did not see many spots available. I just happened to get a spot right in front of the restaurant but I feel like we will struggle to find parking if it's busy. We were provided exceptional service the entire time. I will absolutely return to A&G to try more of the menu.

Our waiters was very attentive and kept our coffee hot while we enjoyed omelettes with sliced tomatoes and biscuits. The omelette I ordered was not exactly off the menu but they made it just right which was so nice for me. The coffee was good as they made so fresh decaf when I ordered it. I would have enjoyed some flavored cream but it was hot and went with breakfast.

We joined the waitlist and were seated within about 15 minutes, which was quick and set a great tone. The restaurant was spotless, and our waitress truly stood out--friendly, attentive, and made us feel taken care of the entire time. The food had some real standouts. The Elevated Egg Sandwich was incredible and easily the highlight of the meal. The potatoes were cooked perfectly--crispy, well-seasoned, and honestly some of the best I've had at a brunch spot. The warm syrup was a small detail but made a big difference. And the passion fruit donut holes? Absolutely addictive--we were already wishing we had ordered more. There were a couple minor issues. The eggs on the Tri-Fecta were ordered medium but came out more well done. Still flavorful, just not exactly as requested. The tacos were also very good, but the corn tortillas kept falling apart, which made them a bit difficult to eat. Overall, a really enjoyable experience with excellent service and several standout dishes. Definitely a place I'd come back to--especially for those donut holes.
