While this is a dive bar, it's not that bad. The bathrooms could use a little love m, but other than that the inside is clean, the bartender Scotty is nice, and the locals are very friendly. Can't complain. Non smoking too which is such a big win. Been a few times and can't complain. The karaoke with Tony is a riot and I love how welcoming he is towards everyone! Prices are a steal for drinks too! Love it! Will be back as we have family that lives in the area. read more

An authentically old fashioned divey Irish pub in Brandon! I had been here once before for drinks with a large group, but I hadn't had a chance to enjoy a meal and the full experience. I stopped by recently with a friend for brunch around 11am. It was relatively empty when I arrived and there was plenty of parking, but I imagine that might get a little difficult when the crowds pick up during the weekend. Bartender was wonderful and she poured drinks STRONG! You really can't beat their Irish breakfast deal - $15.99 and it includes either 2 Bloody Marys or drinks up to $10 in value. The breakfast was really good and filling. This is a plastic silverware kind of place and if you don't drink, you'll only find off brand soda to choose from. But if you love a good dive bar with some pub food and strong drinks, this is your spot! I'll be back. read more

First time visit. Not sure what I was expecting. Definitely a divvy place. Looks like this is a place for locals. The menu is a bit limited. I was hoping for authentic English eats. They did have fish and chips but it's served with cole slaw and not mushy peas. I was hoping to see dishes like toad in a hole or bangers and mash. No such luck. Our server said they do serve a proper English breakfast on the weekends. I guess I'll have to give it a try. If I do I'll be sure to revise my review. The guy running karaoke is a dick bc he didn't answer any questions, just flipped his hands at me and made me go away. The atmosphere is great but since I wasn't stroking his arm and telling him how great he is, he pushed me farther down on the list bc I wasn't. Not good business practices. Ok so I went here for a co workers show, and it was amazing! They did so good, I had a few beers and some fries. When the band ended, we moved to the main room to listen to the DJ, our friends dad. I brought my beer over, my husband had just closed out our tab. We were chilling and a server asked for his ID. He was there the whole show taking pictures. I was drinking at the bar. Never got ID'd. When he says no to her request they called the cops, idk why since he literally wasn't drinking.... I was... but guess it's a mystery if I was of age. I'm white. He's Latino. You do the math lol. I really thought this was a new spot for me and my friends. But the treatment reminded me of citrus county Florida lmfao. And I wasn't even the one harassed.... Sad since we spent a lot of money in there to support.. and the lady who was upset was literally at the bar when we were there being served. Disclaimer we are way over the age limit. I popped in for a few beers the other day. They had a good selection and the atmosphere was pretty cool. The folks there were friendly and I felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long, so I will stop by again soon. The Fox is worth a visit! read more

This local bar was recommended by friends and we briefly stopped by to check it out. We absolutely loved the atmosphere and felt right at home, (sort of reminded me of the "Irish Bar" in AC). At our visit, early evening the bar was already crowded with locals... all enjoying company and the games being shown in the different TV screens. Although, it looks small from the outside the place is quite large, divided into different rooms... Bar, dining area and recreation area; the latter seriously set up for dart competitions. There are old fashioned game machines available to make your experience here extra special! Quite affordable, their food selections is limited to hand helds. I was a bit dissapointed that they did not offer my all time favorite, "Fish and Chips." The fish sandwich was alright... Fun place, absolutely deserves a second visit.. Wanted a place open late to go and enjoy a few drinks on Friday night without going into Tampa. When walking into the place, eyes were upon us. Not because we were dressed funny, but because this bar is clearly full of locals who know one another. When we approached the bar to get a drink, the blonde bartender told us to move so her regular could get to his seat and then she would get our order. This was extremely off-putting because we weren't trying to sit down, we were standing and just wanted to order a drink before grabbing a table. Once we got our drink and sat down both female bartenders were very attentive to us and the other patrons, making rounds to see if anyone needed refills and remembering what each one including us, had ordered. This bar does still allow indoor smoking, which for me as a smoker, is asphyxiating. We didn't try the food but other reviews say it's amazing. read more

Minimal parking so get there early. On today's visit we sat at that bar which was mostly full. There were several patrons outside at their patio. No smoking inside. Bartenders were friendly. I believe the owners were present but it was busy enough we did not get a chance to speak with them. There was a table of 4 in back and someone playing darts. The bathrooms are separated between men and women. These are old bathrooms but they are clean and functional. Sometimes they offer pretzels or crisps. Prices are fair for the area. This quickly became our go to spot. It is exactly what we are missing in our area. We always have a great time and look forward to our next visit. read more

3 star because its the oldest, greatest pub/ dive bar in Brandon with great food, but they still allow indoor smoking. The drinks are strong and good. The food is affordable and good. You will only find laid back locals here of every size, shape and color. No cool cat hipsters or college kids judging everyone. The service is amazing. The fried green beans are addictive. The wings can be ordered "extra crispy" with your choice of wing sauce. Karaoke on Saturdays. Indoor smoking and a lot of it, Ugh...I would come here all the time if I could breath when I was here. Came here Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Told we couldn't stay. 21 and up only so our teenagers that were with us were not welcome. There was no signage that stated it is 21 and up and it is not on the website. I just think it should be on your webpage if this is what your rules are. List a party of 5. Place was empty had 3-4 people in it you could have used our business. We just wanted a quick bite to eat had never been here and we never will be back. read more

I love dive bars but this one was a bit to divey. Smelled like stale cigarette smoke and the Bloody Mary was awful. I got the poppers and potato skins. Poppers came out first, I had finished them, my bloody and a beer about to pay tab when the skins came out. Would of been nice to receive at the same/similar time. Small menu, no burgers and mediocre food. If you are a smoker and there for tap beer it maybe an alright choice. read more

We have been going here for many years. I wanted to respond/ comment on some other reviews. They no longer slow smoking inside. As a smoker, I have always tried to be polite. They had a non smoking bar that was completely separate from the area where smoking was allowed. I cannot speak to the men's restroom, but they added a second lady's bathroom with ample room for walker or wheelchair a an accessible sink, sorry I do not remember if there are handrails. Yes this is primarily a local watering hole with great food. But we always look at newcomers in welcome. You are friends we just haven't met yet! read more

Very comfortable setting and great food plus drinks. Their pizza puffs were amazing and their fries (chips) are cooked perfectly. It's a good time when coming here. My group always get their drinks and theres deals everytime. Service is pretty nice. A little wait especially when coming in early. read more

One of my favorite spot for a quiet night to relax after a long day at work. They carry all of my favorite brands of beer and booze, and Scotty is a fantastic bartender. They have comparable prices, and plenty of dart lanes to play if you are so inclined. My only issue is with the indoor smoking. I went to Fox and Hounds the other day after being stuck in traffic in Valrico. I had never been here but the outside was a cute English style pub house so I decided to stop in. When I walked in the smell on smoke hit me. I was unaware that places in Florida could still allowed smoking inside building that served. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Tracy was bartender. She was friendly and asked me what I wanted immediately. I was surprised to see what a great beer selection they had for a smaller place. I ordered a reef donkey and asked to view the food menu. Tracy gave me the small all fried menu and I ordered an order of jalapeno poppers and potato skins. While waited it became apparent that this was a local bar eith lots of regulars. Everyone new each other's names and seemed to love it there. They had dollar pills on the ceiling of the bar with compliments about the place and also had dart boards. The potato skins were very delicious! They were crisp and had lots of toppings. The jalapeno poppers were disappointing because they were half cream cheese and half cheddar even though they were cleared listed as cheedar cheese. Overall the place had a very good ambience and good beer and liqour selection. The food was average and the smoke smell left me with a headache. For anybody who doesn't mind smoke and wants to find a small local bar I would give it a try. read more

Perhaps I'm spoiled because I live close to several great (and not-so-great) British themed Pubs but I'm not a huge fan of Brandon's oldest pub after my initial visit. I never did like brown ale served in a plastic cup, especially while sitting at the bar but the whole feel was a little too gritty for my liking. read more

Let me start by saying I come here often. Mostly because I live in walking distance. I like vibe of this little pub and the selection of beer but the prices can be a bit steep. Im used to divey places having $2 to $3 wells and some kind of shot specials. The best you can do here is an $8 pitcher of domestic draft. The food that I have tried has been excellent and the patrons are friendly so this place gets a solid 3 stars. Just wish after a few months of coming here the bartenders would remember me.
