Came here on a busy Saturday morning with a party of 5, and had to wait roughly 25 minutes for a table. None of us had been here before so we really didn't know what to expect. Once seated, we were given water and waited on immediately. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which also comes with eggs and hashbrowns. I rarely leave a restaurant totally full, but this place Sid the trick. The biscuits were just okay, but I really enjoyed the gravy. The people I was with all got different breakfast meals, and only 2 of us were able to finish. As for the general opinion, everyone seemed to agree that it was good, but nothing great. The quantity is definitely a plus, as the portion sizes are huge, but you could probably do a better (& smaller) meal for the same price. Overall, I'll probably come back, especially when I'm really hungry, but I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes to eat here. read more

My family and I came here during our trip from South Bend to Chicago. We were seated right away and given water and coffee once we sat down. One of the serves came around the refill coffee and we had a nice conversation about Notre Dame. For food we each ordered a different breakfast. I decided on a blueberry pancake, only one since it is giant. I also split a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant with my sister. She got the french toast and my one brother got the chicken and waffles which he said was one of the best he's ever had! The rest of the group decided on omelet dishes. I had a lovely breakfast on Mother's Day with my son and his beautiful partner. It was busy, but the wait time was reasonable. I ordered the Cinnamon Roll pancakes and they were epic, as usual. Ambience: The restaurant is located in a strip mall in the vicinity of a Super Target. From the outside it looks like any other cookie cutter suburban store. The place used to be a Moe's, which closed after a drama that ended with one of the owners in jail for a couple of decades. Anyway, the interior is actually quite nice. They spent a considerable effort remodelling it, to the point where there's no trace of the previous business. There are brand new booths, tables and chairs. It is a diner that doesn't pretend to be a fancy bistro, so the furniture is simple yet durable. As with many diners, they add nice little touches of the 50's and 60's here and there. Overall it's a nice and comfy place to sit and eat, especially if you get one of the booths. Food & Drink: The menu is about average length, with choices typical for a diner, for the most part. The Shrimp and Grits caught my attention during my last visit, because it wasn't an item you could easily find up here. I thought the price ($16.99) was a bit steep, but when it arrived the cost seemed justifiable. The grits was formed into two square blocks and deep fried, surrounded by fairly large shrimps in cream sauce. It wasn't the type of grits I had in mind, but it was delicious nonetheless. They did a good job in the design and execution of this meal. Service My server was thoroughly attentive and competent. Newer establishments usually have a hard time finding experienced people, but somehow they made it happen. Value This is not exactly the best value in town, but I feel that I got what I paid for. Rating Everything was good. While it's considerably better than typical diners in town, it's not extraordinary. Nothing stands out as especially great. It's a typical 4-star establishment. read more

My daughter and I stopped at MetroDiner tonight for a quick bite after shopping. We got seated by a friendly hostess immediately. I selected the fried chicken plate wbich comes with grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes and a biscuit. My daughter the big city burger with garlic aoli , bacon and fried jalepenos. Our server suggested a mango tea..which was very good. (They have wine now....and spon beer as well) i had a cup of manhattan style tomato based clam chowder...it was spicy, loaded with clams and fresh chunks of potato and tomato broth. It was a great starter.I saw another guy who ordered a bowl...and it was huge. My fried chicken was wonderful..brined, buttery tender, juicy and soft. The server poured syrup in a ramekin and added hotsauce..which he said was their spicy sweet sauce. However, the chicken was really good without it. The mashed potatoes were real, and were delicious...the grilled vegetables were good.. but they could have used a little salt. The biscuit was huge....but dense and heavy. I did not like it ...nor did I eat it. My daughters Big city burger was good too..I had a bite.it had lots of flavor, beef was good quality and the toppings weren't sloppy. Things had been assembled to order. MetroDiner was a pretty good value... We had 2 drinks,2 entrees, and a cup of soup for 37.00 Everything was well prepared and wasnt greasy....and Metro Diner was fast...it was busy when we were there,and the food came out very quickly and was steaming hot. My best friend and I tried this for the first time! The menu was simple but filled with so many different items! The service was fast and good. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, unfortunately they only had the tenders but they were super juicy and full of flavor. The waffle even had strawberry butter which was something fun and he took the the left over because it was so delicious! I on the other hand tried their Italian breakfast burrito and was so awesome! The combination of breakfast food plus the mozzarella in it was something I wasn't expecting to be so good. Plus they gave me a side of marinara sauce to dip it in! In my experience, usually when you order carryout at a restaurant, you should not expect it to be as good as if you were eating inside. I was so pleasantly surprised! My food was done quickly, and the customizations were correct. I called the number on the sign to let them know I was there and as I was hanging up there was someone already walking out with my food. Well the wife and I went there for breakfast. Not very crowded on Tuesday at 9:30. My wife liked her scrambled eggs hashbrowns and Canadian bacon. I had the meat lovers omelette with with mushrooms, with the home fries. First off the home fries had probably been on the warming burner for 45 minutes or an hour they were awful. I should have sent them back. The omelette to me was strange too much topping the egg didn't seem like the right texture,it was almost like a taco Omelette. We have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions both in Granger and the Villages Florida. Since this is a franchise, both areas are very similar in decor and menu. Having said that we have been very satisfied with the quality and selection of food. The menu features feel good comfort foods. The prices are quite good and the service (wait staff) is polite and friendly as well as being quick. There is plenty of parking since the Granger restaurant is in a "strip" mall. I don't think they read the social distancing rule book. If the current state if the restaurant is SD then this place must claustrophobic during normal times. That said, I ordered the Shepherd's Pie for $11.99. That cook must love his salt because, wow! The portion was large and I took half of it home hoping that additional mashed potatoes will help spread out the saltiness. My husband had a BLT. at $9.99 it was okay. It came with a side. He had cole slaw and said it was good. With 2 drinks the bill was $29.06 plus tip. This was an ok spot but for $30 I'll try to find a Ma & Pa diner next time. read more

My wife and I have been a few times since opening in Mishawaka, and have been impressed by the service, food quality, selection and portion size. Breakfast is awesome, and the service is always outstanding. My go-to is the country biscuits and gravy. I like it so much I forget that in the moment I really want to try the chicken and waffles...maybe next time...it's what I keep telling myself. Not as good as other reviews reported. Strawberry waffle was plain. Nothing but a waffle and pieces of strawberry. No strawberry topping at all and we had to ask for whipped cream. The hash browns were undercooked and just a greasy mess with no flavor but grease. I watched a waitress wipe off a table and just push the mess onto the floor instead of picking it up with the cloth! The same waitress cleaned up another table and when walking away trash flew off the plate and she never picked it up! And no social distancing at all. My husband and I stopped in here around 12:30 pm on Saturday. The place was packed but only had to wait a few minutes for a table. The waitress was super nice and accommodating, answering all my questions (like "Do you make your own salad dressings?" And the answer was Yes!) After looking over the menus we were given and the chalk boards at the back of the diner I decided on the Philly cheese steak sandwich (which comes with a side and they have a great collections of sides including grits!) and a house salad (which is 1.00 extra). My husband ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict with hash browns. He said the hash browns were seasoned so well he didn't need to salt them (which he almost always does) and the chicken was moist and crispy in the outside and also seasoned well. The biscuit was homemade and so was the hollandaise sauce, very smooth and creamy. My sandwich was very flavorful and I loved that they used provolone cheese and not Mozzarella like so many other places do. The bun was soft and toasted on the inside. My only regret is that I couldn't eat all of it! The salad with homemade Bleu cheese dressing was a real treat. I also had a spicy bloody Mary which was made perfectly and it was only $4.39, same as the cost of their Mimosa's. And yes, there was definitely alcohol in it. This is the second time we've been here but the first time I've left a review. The first time we went I had their homemade meatloaf and it was soooo good! Better than what I make! If you are near Mishawaka, make plans to eat here. They serve their entire menu all day long and always have something special on the chalkboard. The only slight drawback would be the noise level, hard to hear the music that was playing sometimes. read more

This is our first time in this little town, bringing our RV for warranty repairs. Found this diner, wow! Clean, friendly, what can I say? Julie was our server, she is as close to perfect as I've ever met in a restaurant. Be careful in how you order, everything was delicious and served quickly and hot, but don't be fooled by the price because you get a LOT of food! You will probably over eat or have to get to go boxes. And again, if I had a restaurant I would try to find more like Julie. We ate breakfast and will likely go back for supper! read more

We loved this spot. Visiting family, decided to try it out for breakfast. San Francisco eggs benedict were amazing. I asked to it without the sauce and they delivered it just the way I wanted. Great service and super friendly feel. We liked it so much went back for dinner! Light dinner, soup, hit the spot. My go-to breakfast is the Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict! The cook on the eggs varies at times as I prefer mine to be a medium to well poach without the light yellow yolk but they are are always willing to try and perfect it! My husband and I visited for the first time today, we ordered the breakfast at lunch menu items. He's a vegetarian and I was pleased to see he had some good options! The music and atmosphere was fun, the staff was friendly and we got great service. The portions were good for the price and the food was tasty. Hubs got the southwest scramble bowl and I got the Bissell breakfast with no bacon.
