My wife and I bought a used travel trailer from Metro RV in Burbank recently. We traveled from near Sacramento to Burbank to see it in May and made a down payment. It was everything I had searched for and more. The price was very fair. It took our bank over a month to complete the funding of our loan. During that time, both of the people we had contacted, Kyle and Cheryl, were helpful and kept us informed. I spoke to each of them several times during this period. They were wonderful. Kyle even went to the previous owner to find a missing part of the back up camera. When the time finally arrived for us to travel south again to pick up our trailer, Kyle arranged to have have Gregorio, one of the technicians, take us through the trailer and demonstrate how everything worked, inside and out. He was very knowledgeable and went though it thoroughly at a pace That made it easy for us to follow. Our Lance 1685 is immaculate and was a great deal. Too many neglected repairs done badly or just plain ignored even if they said yes we fixed that. This happened every time. I went in for a quote on building my van and was ready to start whenever they were. I went in on a Monday and the man said he would email me a quote by Thursday. A week passed so I called twice to follow up and they assured me he would get back to me that day. Well a month has now passed and I have not heard from him. Happy that business must be good but extremely disappointed because I have to search for a reliable place to outfit my van for me. First day the AC didn't work when we turned the generator on it turned off as soon as we turned it on Also the fridge wasn't working. The customer service was VERY bad and didn't come to fix the RV We waited until 1am for a new RV but still that one was just as bad as the first one The AC didn't work again.We call to get all the stuff fix and the the worker we were talking to had a bad attitude and started arguing with us we never got the RV fix which again made us waste money on a hotel,we had to stay up late for the RV to arrive to the hotel,just to say if they didn't argue the RV would already be here and they would have a decent review.WORST SERVICE BAD FUNCTIONING DO NOT RECOMMEND DON'T RISK ON SPENDING 1k FOR THIS. read more

If I could have given them a zero I would have. They had our new motorhome for a week and they didn't do anything we asked them to except change the oil and then we had a leak. They didn't put in a gasket on the oil plug. We had to go to an oil change place to fix this issue. Terrible service and we will never go there again and no one else should. read more

The issues at hand.... Upon checkout there were 2 issues that were immediately apparent and noted to your technicians. The first being the generator was not turning on when started without additional attempts. Your technician was ultimately able to get this up and running however this would become a larger issue because by the 2nd day into the rental we realized that the generator would no longer stay on while driving and thus was not functioning. At that time we did contact your After Hours/Weekend Hotline and did receive a response, but it wasn't until a couple days later that a technician finally contacted us and attempted to schedule a meeting. Unfortunately a meeting while on the road, traveling through various states, was impossible. We had already invested our time and money into checking in and out of specific locations along the way, ie we were on a strict schedule, therefore we could not stop down to meet with any technician without us losing more time and money. We opted to forgo the use of the generator while on the road, however, it was extremely problematic considering the heat generated in the RV during the drive which caused not only for my family and I to have to drive at times in swim clothes, but also brought us close to a heat stroke during our trip through Utah and Nevada. The second and more serious issue were the tires. All 6 tires which were at least 5 years old were extremely worn out. The majority of them had ZERO traction, (see pics), were balling and the safety indicator treading was showing. When this safety indicator is visible, it is a clear signal to replace tires as they are unfit for the road - especially for a vehicle of this weight. Your technicians and Roberto acknowledged this issue but their only response was to rotate one set of tires from front to back assuring us they would be fine. They were not fine as the lack of tred on the tire eroded the vehicles ability to absorb any shocks on the road. I believe this negligence led to the majority of issues we experienced in the RV - full list below. Even worse, on the last day of our trip the driver side back 2nd tire blew out with the potential of causing a fire or accident and putting my family and I in danger. Regardless of the number of miles we indicated we would drive, which for the record we did say would be more than what was papered, your company should have never allowed this unit to be released as it compromised the safety of its passengers and thus showed negligence on your part. Least to say I had to pay $409.00 out of my own pocket to pay for replacing your damaged tire. When we secured rental of the vehicle we were assured that it was in excellent working condition for the trip and after inspection we were further ensured these issues would be resolved and they would not be problematic. We not only invested into your company, but also into your trust. We raised these issues upon return so that your company can take the proper actions in ensuring the safety of the unit moving forward for all potential rentees, especially since I was made aware another person planned to rent it a day after our return. However, considering the lack of responsibility in your response to us today we do not accept your credit and will dispute these charges further directly with our credit company unless you see fit to accept acknowledge your negligence and accept our own proposal. I want to highlight that this situation could have been far worse had my family and I become sick due to the lack of AC in the vehicle or if we had gotten into an accident due to the poor tires. We do think that it is your opportunity to make this situation right considering the factors involved. Your website promises a "TROUBLEFREE MOTORHOME", and also indicated 25.00 a day insurance for which we were charged 35.00. Also we had to drive more miles because the grand canyons closed an entrance. COMPLETE LIST OF ISSUES Generator won't stay on while driving, even if altitude knob is adjusted. Screens missing on windows. Water leak in lines. AC condensation leaks into RV. Steps won't release or retract sometimes. Steps also stick out too far when it won't retract. Restroom foul smells at times. Passenger living room window loose. Center console screw loose and snap broken. Dust or debris fallen from driver side console. Head lights are not straight. Drawer under bed won't stay closed during travel. Breaks noisy Tires have no tread. Suspension / shocks are shot. Some kind of loud screeching noise like a loose belt coming from front console, likely AC unit. passenger living room window glue has come off , window is now loose and flying in wind. There was no windshield wiper fluid. Passenger seatbelt locked Wall and Floor board separating in passenger side The shower floor feels like it's going to give way. We also reported this company to the State attorney General for failure to provide a safe vehicle and endangering my family. read more

We rent our RV out so I am constantly needing repairs/maintenance. I found Metro RV after going to another RV place further out in the valley. I am SO glad I found Metro. I live in Burbank so I'm lucky they are so close to me so any time I need anything, they are always there to help me. They are always welcoming especially when I first started out and knew nothing about RVing. Ulysses is always so helpful and Caryl is my go-to girl, she is awesome and ALWAYS willing to help. First call I simply asked how much a 5th wheel hitch install would be, was promptly hung up on. Called back, spoke to service. Was told that regardless of what their website says, they don't do 5th wheel hitch installs. Their excuse was that they don't have a welder. We are full time RVers and no longer in that area so no reason to contact this provide again, we went back to Dometic directly. Dometic fridge SBH safety recall kit installed. 30 min job took nearly 3 hours. I repeatedly asked for an update since we were onsite and no one could tell us anything. Finally got it out and the install was very poor quality. They disconnected the 120v power supply and ran a wire from the 12 v to the 120v introducing a fire risk ! Sloppy work and completely incompetent. To get the fridge to work correctly we had to actually remove the safety kit and wire it back properly. Unfortunately now the safety recall kit is not installed and we are at risk of fire again. If you are looking for a company that will take hours to do a simple recall, that won't give you an update, and will actually rewire working appliance making then inoperable, this is your place! read more

I am fairly new to the RV experience. I accidentally drove my travel trailer under the branches of a tall tree which tore my electric awning off and caused some moderate damage to the roof, AC, antenna, and refrigerator cover amongst other things. I took the trailer to Metro RV for repairs. There I met with Ulysses who inspected the damage. Ulyssses gave me an honest estimate and showed me some DIY ways which saved me a lot of money on the overall cost. I appreciated the honesty, transparency, and professionalism I received during my visit here. Ultimately, they repaired the damaged roof, the awning, antenna, and replaced the damaged covers. Great experience. This is not the first time I've been renting from Metro Rv. We go out camping every year during Thanksgiving and this year was no different. I called up Cheryl and explain to her how many adults and children will be occupying the RV she Rightaway knew which RV would work best for me I was even able to see the floor plan online I did all my reservation over the computer which was very convenient. The staff is always super nice and the RV was very clean when we picked it up. Metro RV maintain there fleet very well and the week trip went with out any issue . ***DON'T STORE YOUR RV/TRAILER HERE*** In September of 2018, I started to store my 17 ft travel trailer in spot 103 at Metro RV. This specific spot is in their garage and I was being charged $200 per month. The first day I dropped off my trailed, Metro RV placed physical numbers on both my trailer hitch and my trailer indicating which spot it belongs in. Although Metro RV had a horrible Yelp rating and a handful of complaints with the Better Business Bureau, I naively figured if they didn't work on my trailer, and I only stored it there, I might not have any issues. I was woefully wrong. I showed up one day to grab something I left in my trailer and noticed it was being stored outdoors and in my garaged spot #103 was an employee's car. I emailed Metro RV asking why my trailer was being stored outdoors and how long it has been outside for. Carly from Metro RV called and said the reason it was outside was because I am not paying enough for it to be stored inside and they were only doing this in the past out of convenience for their lot boy. I responded that there were physical numbers placed on my trailer by Metro RV indicating which space is mine and even emailed her pictures of these numbers their company placed on the trailer. She rudely said that if I am not happy, I can pick up my trailer by the end of the week. I requested management to reach out to me and that request was denied. I have picked up my trailer and found a cheaper spot for $150 per month to store my trailer, which is closers to my house, highly rated on Yelp and no complaints with the BBB. Lesson learned. I should have trusted my gut. Please don't make the same mistake I did and store your RV/trailer here or have them work on your RV/Trailer. read more

Ok so I don't do a lot of reviews but I just can't hold it in anymore. I've given Roberto and his staff 3 opportunities to prove that my first bad experience was just a fluke. Unfortunately that's not the case. I come to metro Rv mostly out of convenience since I live in burbank and we do not have many RV shops around the area. I've gotten my toyhauler washed here 3 times and each time the service has been way below par. Each time I've found large amounts of dirt where they so called cleaned the unit. I get it sometimes you might over look or miss somethings. This has happened on 3 different occasions. When pay over $250 for a cleaning service I would expect much more attention to detail. In addition when doing an exterior wash I would expect the entire exterior to be included. They managed to leave my roof unwashed on 2 different occasions. I had them install a mini blind which they left longer then the window and tried to turn the unit over to me just like that. Not even attempting to correctly size the mini blind. Then I had to wait over 45min for the to make the adjustment and rise off what should already have been a clean roof! If they only took a little more time to double check these issue. Oh ya I almost fir got the completely drained my batteries by for getting to turn off my water pump. I only hope that the batteries will hold a charge and not need to be replaced. I'm beyond frustrated with Metro Rv And their service. read more

If you have an RV and need it serviced I would highly recommend going to see Jonathan in service he will take care of you! He will go over everything that needs to be done and show you before they do anything. They also work with insurance companies to get work done . They also have reasonable labor rates. We took our RV here for some minor fixes, along with the transmission. My husband noticed at the time that almost everyone who worked there did not have masks on. He told them that we needed the RV back on 12/28. We heard nothing from them for over a week, so my husband started texting 12/27 and couldn't get ahold of anyone. He was finally able to call and get ahold of someone on 12/29 and he was told that everyone was out due to a Covid outbreak. At that time the person was unable to tell him if any of the work was done. He called back again and that person told him that none of the work was done. So our RV sat there for 1-2 weeks and no one bothered to call to tell us that there were issues. Then when my husband went today to picky the rig up, no one had masks on again - WITH AN ACTIVE OUTBREAK. It cost us $120 in Ubers for him to take it there and pick it up for absolutely nothing...not even any communication from Metro that it was unable to be worked on. I would give 0 stars if that were possible. The customer service is just so careless, there was a minor paint scratch on the side of the RV and they tried charging us 1k. After we told them to let us see and got a rag, what do you know it came right off and the worker agreed it just needed a small buff. Then we returned it with a full tank and they try to say or was only 70% full which was bull, so we go to look at it and what do you know tank is full. If you want to drive a billboard for a national chain RV rental company, go ahead. Not me, I like not sticking out like a sore thumb while I'm on vacation. These are "normal" looking modern RVs. From what I understand, they are privately owned RVs that Metro manages. We rented a class C model, the kind with a van front end. We had plenty of room for all our stuff, and with the bunk beds we didn't even have to convert the entire RV into a bedroom every night. That made things easy. Pay attention during the walk around, because if you are new to RVing, this is different than renting a Camry at the airport, or staying in a hotel. Watch a video on YouTube, plan ahead, do your part to educate yourself about the needs of an RV. For instance, learn the difference between fresh, grey and black water. Had to write something here because it seems like my experience is more normal than some of the rantings I found here on yelp. I mean, we had to plan well in advance because the RVs are booked solid for every weekend during the summer months. With the low quantity of reviews, no news, may be good news. I read one review that said they had to add a gallon of oil to their RV engine. Really, a gallon? - Exaggerate much? Our RV was clean, comfortable, reliable and everything worked. I gave myself enough time not to be in a rush and didn't run into anything. We had a great time and the costs were exactly what I was quoted. What else do you want when planning a trip. They service our trucks and the "RV" portion, including the generators and all the plumbing, etc. Victor is the absolute BEST, we can text him at anytime and he lets us drop off the trucks for any reason or emergency. I have NEVER in my life experienced anything like this. If you are a traveller looking to rent or buy an RV in California DO NOT under ANY circumstances do your business with Metro RV. Keith (Rental Manager) and Tony (Rental Consultant) are the two most dishonest, slimy and unprofessional sales people I have ever come across - and I work in sales so I've met a few! My partner and I rented a C Class RV from Metro RV in April for 62 days - a one way rental from LA to NYC. Their price was competitive but on par with other companies. The vehicle was pretty run down and needed maintenance - missing cupboard door latch (so our food would fly across the room on corners), leaking roof (dangerously so, through a light socket and onto the bed), TV aerial never worked, decayed windscreen wipers (fun in a storm), headlight lamp out (which we replaced), NO ENGINE OIL (which we sorted out based on Keith's approval of a mechanic's invoice - the Dodge mechanic we went to was horrified at how low it was, given the distance we were travelling. Metro RV cut corners on their maintenance), and we did 13mpg not the 17mpg they repeatedly told us we'd get. Mileage we planned to travel was discussed with Tony, who built the 7,500 miles into our cost (we only ended up traveling 5,700 miles as our plans changed). Insurance and all other fees etc were also included in our cost. Metro RV was to arrange for the return of the vehicle to California - Keith was originally going to book flights for Tony to meet us in NYC to drive the vehicle back to California (flights, fuel etc, all return expenses were included in our original cost - never did tony factor the return mileage into our quote when negotiating). We paid a $1,000 deposit in case of any accidents/damages (pretty straightforward stuff). And we were lucky, we had no accidents, and caused no damage to the vehicle. At the end of the contract, I received no call, no email, no statement, no formal notification or evidence of inspection, and no professional follow up. Three weeks later I received a verbal phone call from Keith telling me they found a stress fracture on the rear bumper, a crack in the roof AC unit and the return mileage went over what we'd originally paid, which was all going to cost me in the vicinity of $1600!!! wtf? Luckily I had taken my own photos the day our trip finished, and could prove there was NO CRACK on the rear bumper. I have heard nothing from Keith regarding my photos, no report, and certainly no photo evidence of the supposed crack he found, which tells me he is lying. Keith is an absolute liar and now avoiding my calls and hasn't responded to any of my emails. . He is literally STEALING my money!! The mileage was clearly stated on our contract as 7,500 miles. The return mileage of the vehicle is not applicable to us, as Metro RV was returning the vehicle to California. Even Lynn in their office agreed with this, saying "all return costs would have been built into your quote, that doesn't make sense". They haven't even had the decency to return the $366 which i spent fixing THEIR vehicle! This is THE WORST business i have ever dealt with. Liars and thieves, and they'll just avoid you until you go away - making extra money out of unsuspecting travellers. Who is making rotten businesses like these accountable for their actions - or can they just carry on stealing people's money? read more

There are many things I should have done before having my RV serviced at Metro. I should have not been in such a hurry (we were leaving on a cross country trip in a week and I took too much time purchasing my ride), I should have had the RV completely checked out before I purchased, and I should have read these Metro RV reviews on Yelp before I took it in. Got me a used, '86 Toyota Rogue with 170k miles on it. She's in great condition. The family that we bought her from took real good care of her. But she needed a few things: horizontal propane tank, a vent for the fridge, and a belt tightened. There was that 'squealing' sound whenever the AC was clicked on or the engine went beyond certain RPMs. I was told it was the belt. Sounds like an easy fix right? Took her into Metro and was helped by Jesse. Jesse addressed the vent, ordered me a propane tank, and later told me his mechanics discovered the squealing was because of the air compressor and I needed a new one. Jesse brought me back to talk to his parts guy, Victor who explained that a new compressor would be essential for such a long drive. I hemmed and hawwed, I was in a rush, and already sinking more $$ than I wanted to spend, but I agreed...in person. Verbally. Meaning, yes, I authorized the go ahead to get the part and begin the fix. Jesse, for some reason, wanted to get me the price first. I asked for a ballpark. He and Victor gave me one. I still agreed. Let me type that again...I agreed. Yet, Jesse never ordered the part. He kept insisting he was waiting to get me a price well after I already told him to go ahead and get it, regardless of the quote. The process took DAYS. I was 3 days behind on my cross country trip. My mother in law had flown out to join us on the journey and her vacation time was quickly slipping away. Finally the compressor arrived and took another day to install. And to my surprise, the engine was still squealing! We were so behind we were planning to leave that night. Still had to load the camper, etc. I asked, for my inconvenience, a modest 20% discount. I was laughed at. They gave me a measly discount and a screaming engine to deal with. As I was checking out, Victor, who was arguing on the side of Metro, once I relented, told me that Jesse "had to wait to get me an exact quote, regardless of my giving him the go ahead because they've been burned before by customers who decide to change their minds when they get the firm number." You know, I get it, but Jesse could have been up front with me about that. Instead, I got danced around and my vacation thwarted. We did leave that night. Drove several "squealing" hours just to get some road behind us. Spent the night in Nevada. Next morning I took our RV to a nearby mechanic who addressed the squealing, targeted the problem and fixed it within an hour. Only charged me $50. It's kind of a joke with me and my family now. Whenever we drive passed Metro RV, I roll down my window, shake my fist and ala James T. Kirk, I yell out "Jessseeeeeee!" read more

I was told that financing for an RV would be attainable and I was "practically approved" by the dealership, but about a week or so later after the full down payment (which ended up being $4000 dollars), the "financial" guys FINALLY called me up and told me I was not going to get approved. With that, I had to chase down the dealership in attempt to get my down payment back and it's been 2 months and they still have not returned it to me, despite my calls, and their promises. They were supposed to have returned it as soon as the financing fell through and it's a large amount of money that they're holding on to illegitimately, since I have no RV or anything. Since then, I've filed a dispute against them from my credit card company, but this place is pretty shady and I would NOT recommend or trust them with any amount of money. Made to watch an incredibly outdated video tape to explain how to use the RV vs. a person who could actually take time and explain. Our follow up questions were met with shortness. 3. Like many others here, our experience crosses over from inept poor service to blatant fraud. Last Dec, after a few weeks of emails and calls, we drove from the Bay Area to Burbank to pick up a 2006 Gulfstream RV. Upon first inspection, it was not in nearly as good condition as represented. It was raining, and there was a leak, but they caulked it to seal it. And fixed a few other things on the spot - even giving us $50 to buy lunch while we waited for the repairs. After the drive and all and with lender's check in hand, we decided to buy it. - a decision we would quickly regret. The buying process was fine, and like most swindlers, Cheryl and Roberto are friendly and personable. Since we secured our own financing, and sold our old trailer private party, we didn't have any of the payoff issues that others have experienced. But a few weeks after we picked the RV up, we got charged an extra $600 for dmv. After finally getting the registration in the mail, we discovered it was for the prior year - plus penalties, because it had not been registered (we had already paid the current year when we bought it). When I raised holy hell, they promised a refund. After many delays they did not respond to our challenge of the charge with our credit card company, and we got the credit. A month or so later we needed some repairs and took it into a local shop. When they checked with Cornerstone on the extended service plan we had purchased, there was no record of our contract - even though we paid in cash and had the signed contract in hand. Another big hassle, but Metro RV paid the premium and we got the repair, but while it was in the shop, they discovered that the RV had a cracked frame - and that was the cause of the leak. The repair estimate was over $12,000! While I missed seeing the crack in the rain, any shop that does a "complete 50 point inspection" like Metro RV claims to do, certainly would have seen it. I checked with the DMV, Consumer Affairs and a couple of attorneys, but we bought it as-is, and there was no recourse so we were stuck. Ultimately we decided to cut our losses and traded in the RV to a wholesaler so we could buy a new trailer, losing $10,000 in the process. At least we thought we would be able to get a refund on the pro-rata share of unused service contract. The contract requires us to go through the selling dealer, and any refund check gets mailed to the dealer. And you won't be surprised to learn that Metro RV has been non-responsive and uncooperative. If I was closer to Burbank I'd take them to small claims court as a matter of principle, but since we're 300 miles away, it's not worth the hassle and we'll add that to the loss column and move on. I've been going here for about a year - but only for getting the black/gray water dumped. In Los Angeles, near DTLA, there are vanishingly few dump station, and many that you may see listed are actually long-since closed or otherwise unavailable. In the 18 months I've owned an RV, the only two not-even-really nearby dumps closed. And those dumps were $10, self-serve. Metro offered a $20 dump (but they don't anymore). I've used this maybe 4 times - they back-flushed (using just water), both tanks, did a good job, was worth a $10 premium for the 10 minutes of work, more or less.. Again, not anymore. $25 now - and no flush. This is literally what $20 buys you at Metro RV: 1. The guy attaches the hose. 2. He opens the valve. 3. He waits about a minute. 4. He closes the valve. 5. He removes the hose. 6. Repeat for other tank. It's about 5 minutes work, for $25. The guy told me he could NOT flush the tanks unless I paid $50. FIFTY DOLLARS to do what they did for $20, a couple months ago? And $25 to do far LESS than what they used to do, just a couple months ago. No. This place has the lowest rating of the RV places in my area, on YELP. My story is just one of many. As an aside, I've asked to talk to managers there three times, including this time. They are always "out today". If you want poor service (by their own policy - not due to the workers) at a premium price, here's your go-to spot. read more

Don't rent from them! We did, in Aug 2016 and it was a HUGE mistake! Our rental had a busted generator, a faulty shower, interior lights were out, the lighter outlets were busted. We couldn't keep our phones charged and almost lost our navigation. However, the worst part was during our drive to our destination, we had a blow out. We called a tow truck to change it and THE SPARE, KEPT UNDERNEATH AND OUT OF SIGHT, WAS BLOWN OUT ALSO! It cost us $400 out of pocket. When I tried to all them on Monday, I got the run around that lasted the entire week of our vacation. Horrible customer service, very unprofessional and I have no idea how they are still in business. They do not check in or out any of their rentals. GO ELSEWHERE! read more

This place is bad news--BEWARE! RUN AWAY! I bought a 2006, fifth wheel toyhauler and it was supposed to be all in good working order-- well I took it out and found out it was a piece of junk: I took it back-- the owner, Roberto, said they do something like 6 hours labor to fix the problems, which were; 1). Generator would shut off after about 5 minutes 2). Fuel station had rusty sludge in it. 3). Sink water didn't work. 4). Tank drain valve didn't work-- pull was like a bent coathanger. 5). Front jacks didn't work. 6). Sofa mount ripped from the wall. Certainly there's more, just can't recall now. They put a nail in the mechanism instead of a bolt for the front jacks-- which worked maybe 3 times till I had it fixed by a reputable shop. ( Clark's RV repair in Ridgecrest. The generator was not repaired-- contrary to the service department. Prognagthas Engineering in Ridgecrrest found the carburetor was all clogged up from the crap in the fuel station- metro told me they replaced the main control board-- tried to get 530 bucks from me but instead charged me $130 for a non- original mfg one THAT WAS NEVER TOUCHED! The kitchen faucet wasn't fixed-- a plumber friend told me it was just the aerator - I replaced it but the water pump surges. Sigh. Guess I learned a bit-- I'll certainly never buy anything from metro RV and I'll not likely buy a Forest River / Cherokee product again. read more
