It's been 5 hours and I'm currently sitting here and still waiting. She said an hour ago when I showed up it was "almost done." What really gets on my nerves is after 3 hours I called and asked how much longer they expect it to be and refused to get an answer. I had to cancel an appointment of mine, that I otherwise could have kept if they communicated in some way it would be longer than expected instead of me waiting there after it had been 4 hours since the start of service and they did "we're almost done." Waited almost 2 hours after that in the shop. Meanwhile one gentleman who finally decided to help the person doing the service was just sitting on their phone at the counter not doing damn thing, fully aware this was taking far too long. Terrible customer service and deceptive time frames give for their service. Don't go here.

Terrible. Please, read this and other negative reviews and do not store your belongings here. Two…read morebig problems: (1) We rented two storage units. The prices for both units almost doubled in less than three months. This is price gouging. (2) One of the units had both water and pest damage in it. When we removed our belongings, after two months of storage during the spring, we found mouse droppings everywhere (we'd had a few wicker baskets in the unit, and the mice feasted on them). Extra Space claims to provide pest control, but it's obvious that they do not. A wall in the unit was also very obviously wet (per photos, etc.), which then wet our things (e.g. dining room table and chairs and other costly items) and caused mold growth. We documented the wet wall, but our insurance claim (insurance they provide and we/you pay for when you sign up) was denied. "Water" is a peril that's covered under the policy, but mold, of course, isn't, so this is how their unethical adjusters/lawyers get around paying the claim. More could be said. Please store your belongings elsewhere!

The units, hallways, and elevators are spotless. I never had a concern about the temperature or humidity inside the building. I appreciated that there was surveillance in all the hallways, given that it is a very large and cavernous place. In the end, the human element is what makes this facility stand out. I dealt mainly with Mario, and he is super-conscientious and pro-actively gave me every bit of information I needed to use this facility confidently, rent an additional unit, and vacate my spaces economically. I highly recommend this outfit if you live on the north side and looking for storage. To my mind, it's a near perfect arrangement for a reasonable price.

I am not located in IL, which was a challenge for this move, but they assured me everything was going to be, ok, and sure enough it was even better than ok.
