I came to Metro Vein Center in hopes of relieving my restless legs due to venous insufficiency. As I began my treatment I suggested to my husband to come in for his large twisted vericose veins. The treatment lasted over a few months. We bothreceived laser and sclerotherapy. I was hoping for some relief and at the end of my treatment have experienced complete relief of my restless legs and the swelling in my ankles. Not to mention, I have been getting shots in my knees for years due to pain. I firmly believe because of the relief in the swelling in my legs, my knees no longer hurt. Needless to say I am elated on many levels! My husband wasn't so sure at first however now months later after his completed treatment, his legs are free of vericose veins and are smooth. I was recommended this clinic by a friend and I am so, so, SO glad I trusted her advice! I am a pretty active person, but I have a family history of bad veins and had noticed some pain in my legs that was making it difficult for me to stay as mobile as I want to be. I was initially pretty afraid to come in because I do not like needles and wasn't sure what to expect (everyone's experience will be different based on their body, so my friend could only tell me what it was like for her) but everyone including the receptionist made me feel so at ease! My first appointment with them was a free evaluation, so there was no worry about commitment and it felt very much like they are ONLY there to help you understand your veins. I scheduled some treatments with Dr. Otaibi, who spoke with me after my ultrasound. He is extremely friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. After researching and getting recommendations from friends and relatives I decided to go to Metro Vein for a consultation on my veins. I was very concerned with the procedures but my mind was very quickly put at ease by the doctor and staff. They explained every detail thoroughly. I stand for long hours all day at work. I don't have time to be off for medical appointments. The staff was able to make sure my appointments were available when I needed them. My procedures started in November and concluded in January. I've had three veins done on each leg. With following Dr. Pabarue's instructions for after care, I have had nothing but a little tingling and muscle soreness after each procedure. I haven't missed work and have had no issues with standing even the following day after a procedure. I had the privilege of being treated at Metro Vein Center's West Bloomfield location a couple of years ago and to this day, I still speak of how amazing my patient care was and how comfortable the staff made me feel throughout the duration of my treatments. All I knew was that my veins began to bulge, so I finally decided to have them checked out. I had surgery at West Bloomfield. They were so nice and so concerned about my comfort level. Dr. Pabarue was always checking to make sure I was not in pain. I had a short time to do everything before leaving for Florida so they tried everything they could to get me in. Getting the laser done on my larger veins was no problem at all. When I had all my spider veins and the ones that were coming out from the large veins done it was a bit more painful and longer recovery time. I had quite a few to be done. I have RLS (restless leg syndrome) and have had it for 45 Years, having to take 3 pills a day for it. I am now down to one a day and hopefully will be able to stop all together. I've been a patient at Metro Vein for 10 months now and pretty happy I went for the free consultation to have my legs checked for the spider veins and increasingly apparent veins on the backs of my legs from years of retail. I did not realize that my charlie horse cramps and pins and needles when I drove long distances was not not normal. The doctors their are very good at explaining why the symptoms are happening and walk you through the treatments to help correct blood flow. The treatments can be slightly uncomfortable, but no more discomfort than a simple blood test would be and the doctors and assistants are very personable and nice. Metro Vein Center couldn't have been more caring and professional throughout the procedures. I had only a few months before I moved across the country and had about 5 procedures to complete before I left. The staff was perfectly communicative with me through the few months and very helpful/flexible when it came to scheduling and/or rescheduling. We made a plan together, stuck to it, and got through it. Recovery time was not the most comfortable but I was clearly given instructions on post procedure care and I am healing quite nicely. I went to the West Bloomfield office to talk to their billing department and they worked with my insurance company. Because I had pain and aching in my legs from varicose veins, they were able to get my insurance to cover the surgery. read more
