It took me to a portal to complete paperwork and that took only a minute or two since I had not been there before. After I submitted the paperwork, I got a text message indicating that it was received and then another text a minute later indicating that everything good with the paperwork. I settled in by turning on a podcast in my car and dug into a magazine. About 5 minutes later, somebody came outside and called a name. My window was up and I assumed it was somebody who arrived before me. But when she called out the name again, I rolled down the window and to my suprise, it was my turn to go in. I was taken to a room where somebody immediately took vitals and a history of my illness. She did a quick covid and flu test. It took about 10 minutes to get the results back and a doctor (RN?) came in to give me the good news - no covid, no influenza but she asked more questions as to my symptoms and wound up writing my an Rx for cough drops and inhaler. Overall, a quick experience, especially in this time of covid and various protocols implemented. I would definitely come here again.

The nursing staff in pre-op made me feel very at ease. This might not be noticed by all but to be given quality gown that wasn't threadbare or with knotted ties and very comfortable socks was great. Each person I was going to come in contact with in the operating room came in to introduce themselves, explain what their job was and answer any questions was important. The post-op care was great, too. The fact that they phoned to see how I was doing afterwards and answer any questions showed their professionalism. I highly recommend this facility and staff.

Now I'm in for MORE PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS, in an attempt to straighten it out. Why bother asking for my insurance card and check-in if you're not going to actually do anything with it? It was a little chilly in the room so I was offered a warm blanket. And then when I was still cold, they gave me another warm blanket. Each time they came into the room, which was every 15 minutes, they always had a smile on their face. When the procedure was over, the nurse was kind to let me know what to expect next and how many days to wait for the results before it would show up on my portal. If you have a procedure to be done, it's worth the drive out to Brighton. I love it every time I come out to this facility.

The same receptionist ignores me when I spell my name so it takes like 3-4 minutes extra before she actually decides to listen to what I'm saying. If I were the u of m I would retrain some of your staff in customer service. The care once you get past reception is great. The physical therapists are amazing and so helpful. The biggest issues are the long wait times made worse by inefficient and rude staff.

If you're there for something small, you go in the West entrance and first check in so that they can get your medical insurance info, etc. Then, you'll be directed to the waiting room next door. Whenever I've gone for X-rays, I've been in and out within 20-30 minutes, which is appreciated. There's also ample parking in the lot behind the building. Overall, I'd recommend this Beaumont location, especially if you live in the area and it's the closest one to you.

Healthcare Rant Incoming I usually let things go, but not…read morethis time. A week ago Wednesday, I had another dehydration episode after getting sick--either from a stomach bug or food poisoning. Instead of going straight to the ER, I tried the new urgent care on Grand River, hoping to save time, money, and stress. I called ahead and clearly asked two different staff members if they could administer IV fluids if needed. I explained that if they couldn't, I'd just head to the ER. They both assured me--no hesitation--that yes, they could do IVs. So I went. They're new. They were eager to collect my insurance and co-pay. I arrived at 4:30 PM. They close at 6. Was the staff friendly? Yes. Was the visit a total waste of my time and money? Absolutely. The doctor seemed far more concerned about getting out on time than actually helping me. Despite a long medical history of similar episodes requiring fluids, he brushed it off--insinuating that maybe this was "psychosomatic." (Classic cop-out.) I've had doctors gaslight me before, but I'm done letting it slide. I don't trust most of them anymore. It's exhausting to have to fight to be heard, only to be told later, "Oh... you were probably right." (And you know I make them say it out loud.) This doctor literally told me, "Yeah, we can do IVs... but the right nurse isn't here and I don't do that." ‍ He handed me a pill and sent me home. At least he apologized. But still... Let's be real: They got me in because they wanted the money. That's it. There was no meaningful care. I should've walked out without paying. If it were any other industry, I would have. A friend of mine went a few days later--same story. They tell you they can help, then do the absolute bare minimum. Oh, and P.S. -- It was hot as hell in there. I don't think they set the thermostat for patients. Bottom line: I'll never go back. If you can avoid this place, do. Consider this your warning: Buyer Beware.

They went over and beyond helping my husband as he had an unexpected reaction to a medication prior to his procedure. They even helped us get an immediate appointment with a top Dr for after care that would have taken probably weeks to get into to. Their knowledge and dedication really was amazing! She was really no help at all and basically told me she wasn't willing to help me as I'm pretty much in a patient room ready to cry my pain was so bad! Personally I feel she was just way too young in her career to be solo and she didn't have enough medical experience to connect with her patients. I have a severe lower back issue. It acts up every once in awhile and is horrible. I treat it the same way and in about a week I'm back to normal. This PA would not listen to me. I've been dealing with this for almost 2 decades, trust me I know what works. A muscle relaxer. At times steroids (even though I hate them) and occasionaly a pain patch or pain pill. She was willing to give me ZERO help! I had to ask for an MD, which gave the PA an attitude! The MD was amazing!! Gave me what I needed trusted me to know my body and what worked in the past and sent me on my hobbling way. A day later and I was actually able to sleep lying down. Thank you beautiful MD! I really hope the management staff reads this because the PA (Sarah) really could use some training in bedside manner, learning to trust her patient and she needs to realize not ever one is seeking drugs, and she could use some sensitivity training. When someone goes to urgent care, they're going because they need help. When that person is telling you NSAIDs, heat and ice, stretching, swimming and yoga are NOT working and they are looking to you for alternatives after being awake with pain unable to sit or lay for the past 29 hours and that person can barely move and you tell that patient that all you can offer them at this time is a big fat NOTHING, than 1) you're not doing what my copay and insurance is paying you to do and 2) you're isolsting your self from relationship building with your patients so you'll never get word of mouth referrals or build a positive reputation in your community for yourself because as of now I would ask to only be seen by an MD if and when I ever need to return after the experience I had with this PA. This is advice I will give to everyone asking if I know of an urgent care based off of this experience. That's a genuine concern for me and as a patient and should be a large concern for the management team. As a professional, I'd need this to be addressed. Patient care and relationship building should be equal to listening and trusting your patients. People come there for medication, to be treated and for resolution, not to be discounted and treated like they're wasting the time of the PA, which is exactly how I felt. She was not interested in helping me when I was in serious need of help! That's sad. Outside of this, everything was great! Beaumont, give your newer employees patient care training and celebrate your seasoned professional who really care about listening to the patients needs!
