We took our car in for a warranty fix and when we got it back there were more problems than before due to their repair work. When we asked them to fix what they broke, they said it wasn't them even though we have proof and my husband is a mechanic and knows what he's talking about. Recently purchased a vehicle having Steve H as our salesperson. Not impressed! He is a true car salesman, slick and fast. He asks questions but did not even listen to the answer, he is off having a conversation with a sales friend. Our whole experience seemed very unprofessional both with Steve and the dealership. I bought the vehicle and we are already experiencing broken promises and empty words about some last minute fixes we found with the vehicle. "Of course we will fix that" but now that the sale is done, they aren't concerning themselves with any of that. I had to put a deposit down as we looked at the vehicle Friday and finished Saturday. Now, getting the $500 deposit back has become a problem. Still hasn't been refunded. It feels like so many of the things we were being told just aren't adding up. It seems they tell you what you want to hear, and once the vehicle is bought, they have what they want and could care less about you. It's all about the $$$. Steve was going to call and check on things with the new car. 48 hours and that still has not happened. It all feels very disrespectful and disingenuous. I prefer car salespeople that can carry on a normal conversation, joke around and have some fun, and is truly interested in his customers lives. Selling the car should be as fun as buying one. I had a bizarre issue yesterday which almost made my truck inoperable. Basically, the main circuit board malfunctioned and it sounded like the car exploded. The speakers went on full volume with a popping and static sound. Fortunately I was in a parking lot when it happened. I had 4 passengers at the time and it was super scary. My first thought was something large fell on my truck. The noise didn't turn off when I shut down the truck, which was super bizarre. BTW, my truck has 8,000 miles on it so its still new IMO. I got rid of my passengers and drove it immediately with the crazy loud noise. The sound was mind numbing. I decided to go to Eden Prairie because it was the closest. Having been a Ford Evangelist for many years all I can say is wow, what a terrible service experience. I pulled into the bay and they couldn't have met me with more indifference. In fact, I had to ask 2 people for help. The guy who I believe was the manager treated me as if I was bothering him. I had to ask him to get off of his chair to come and hear what was happening. He said I could leave it and they would get to it in a week or so. I told him I have my daughter's wedding this weekend, so I have to have a vehicle. He asked if I bought it there and when I told him I moved from out of state he told me he didn't have a vehicle for me. Coincidence? He did tell me that there is a Ford dealer every 10 miles so I could go elsewhere. Interesting strategy. I was shocked based upon the amazing Ford service I have received in IL, OR, CA and Idaho. We did eliminate the noise by disconnecting the battery. I don't think it solves the issue, but it allowed me to get the heck out of there. While I was waiting for the battery to be reconnected I went into the showroom. The lady at the reception desk didn't look up once as I walked past her twice. No, greeting or acknowledgment. The sales guy in the showroom sat and stared at me, but never once waved, said hello or asked may I help you. Perhaps "Indifference" is what they teach at Metropolitan? If that's the brand message goal, they absolutely nailed it! Here's what I did learn having just moved here. Metropolitan Ford will never be where I take my new truck for service and I will never buy from them or recommend them to anyone. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on January 13, 2021. I paid cash for the vehicle. On January 25th I had the vehicle looked over by my local mechanic with whom I've been doing business for 10+ years. They brought several major problems to my attention and advised me that a few of the problems they found would likely cost $2500-$3000 to fix because the transmission and transfer case would need to be removed and then reinstalled. All told they quoted me over $4000 to fix everything that needed attention. This vehicle was purchased from the dealer at a price well over book value and I foolishly assumed it had been inspected and major issues would have been addressed. On January 28th I contacted Mike Nelson, the used car manager via email and explained the situation to him. I requested to bring the vehicle back for a partial refund. At the time I had owned the vehicle for just over two weeks and had put fewer than 400 miles on it. It was in the exact condition it was in when I purchased it. I had even installed brand new wiper blades all around and purchased matching Weathertech mats so it was arguably in better condition than when I bought it. Despite being more than reasonable in asking to return the vehicle and be refunded the the amount I paid less the $500 deposit I had initially put down on it, I was told by both Mike Nelson (used car manager) and Eric Bjorgaard (general manager) that there was no scenario in which they would allow me to return the vehicle for any kind of refund. They offered to "trade me out of the vehicle" if I wanted to buy something else from them. They also offered to give me a second opinion on what my mechanic told me. At the end of the day they continued to hide behind their "no return policy" and only offered solutions that ensured my money stayed in their pocket and/or solutions that put MORE of my money in their pocket. This is a prime example of the "slimy, greasy, smoking in the manager's office old school car business" way of doing things. Most dealerships go the extra mile to ensure their customers have a positive experience at their store so they will come back again and again. This place just wants your cash and once they have it you're not getting it back, period. If this was the last dealership on earth they wouldn't get another dime of my money. read more

Apparently Metropolitan Ford replaced the catalactic converter with an aftermarket of the wrong size!!!! Now we will be paying almost 33% of the purchase price just to get it in running condition. I was looking for a price on a set of tires, schedule an oil change and have them inspect a noise I'm hearing under the hood. I came in today as my car had a recall notice. I also needed repairs for my air conditioning. Mike told me that I was in the wrong lane and started to talk down to me. I was directed to Brian, who finally came over and told me that they didn't have time. I asked about next week, and they didn't have time. my experience with them tells me that I need to find another place to have my car serviced. Would do zero stars if possible. Mike Dixon is a kind and great salesman, and was able to sell me a $7,800 lemon. I didn't even get the car home from purchasing it when the head gaskets blew. They also left my engine burning oil and refused to fix it. The Used Car Sales Manager, Matt Nathe, completely ruined my chances of even buying a car from a dealership ever again. Service Dept: I have been to Metropolitan Ford for service many times over the past 4 years. They have an excellent service department that does a thorough job. The last time, they said a part could be replaced, but the recommended not doing it as it was not urgent. Sales Dept: Every car I have purchased, I try Metropolitan since I get service there. I have purchased 4 vehicles in the past 4 years. Every time, they show me why I won't purchase from them. Their sales people are full of crap. My last purchase of a Ford, they told me they had the vehicle I wanted "in stock." What it actually was, is another dealer had it in stock and they had to purchase it from them to get it in their stock. I bought from another dealership for less. I am looking to lease a new Ford at the moment, and I contacted them through their internet department. I told them what I wanted, the price and lease another dealer was offering, and where I could be flexible. Their internet sales guy told me "Ford doesn't do that lease," "Ford won't do a lease on a 2017," and "when do you want an appointment to come in and talk." I told him I would come in at 9am the next morning (today), but he never responded. Needless to say, I went to another dealer and leased a new 2017 - and got a free lunch in the deal. read more

I bought my 2013 Ford Explorer Sport cash money in 2020. Before I bought it I test drove it like anyone would do. I remember at one point while hammering down on the accelerator I felt a slight jerk as we accelerated. I asked the salesman if that was normal for a sport and he assured me it was. I figured maybe that's how sport vehicles shift when you accelerate that quickly. I'm not super car savvy and I really needed some wheels so his assurance was enough for me. It's a beautiful truck and was really clean inside and out when I went to test drive it. But as time went on after buying it, the jerkiness progressed. I recently ended up having to get a new transmission installed. This vehicle that costed $15000 cash ended up costing an extra $4500. A part of me is mad at myself, but the other part of me can't help but know that the salesperson knew what was wrong with it. If your not car savvy like I am, I suggest always bringing a used car to YOUR OWN trusted mechanic before buying it. I definitely learned my lesson. Don't be fooled by the nice guy techniques. They don't work with anyone to get the deals that you want and forget the ford commercials becuase they don't honor any of the savings that ford offers. I've never been disrespected worse than when I went here to get my Ford Focus "repaired." It wouldn't start (ignition problem). They replaced the switch and charged me $600. Didn't work. They did it again. Still didn't work $600. Then I asked them to look into the problem and do a routine maintenance check (washer fluid, oil, tire rotation, etc.). The mechanic LIED and said he checked all these things. Turns out I caught him lying and he doubled down and lied again to my face. Then the service manager screamed at me repeatedly, said he hated his job and wanted to quit, complained about customers and mechanics. This guy almost threatened me . The most unprofessional and threatening service I've ever experienced. I missed 4 days of work, they never fixed the problem, refused to give me a refund, and raised their voice in a threatening manner. They totally ripped me off and cost me over a thousand dollars plus missed work, plus they lied. AWFUL...NEVER GO HERE!!! read more

Service dept- In previous experiences I have had Todd for my service advisor. Todd is always extremely helpful and honest on what my truck needs. 5 stars every time. Today however I worked with Chad in the quick lane. I was not impressed. I came in for an oil change as was told that I "needed" many other services. Air filter, battery, rear brakes etc. Now I legitimately need a battery, but I installed a new air filter 2 months ago, and my rear brakes have approx 30% life left. The first 70% was used in 90,000 miles. I realize that Chad was trying to do his job of selling other services. But trying to sell services that are not necessary is what gives mechanics a bad name. I watched chad walk through the door to the lounge 3 times with customers airfilters in hand, and tell them that it needed to be replaced. Only once was it legit. I gave 3 stars for the fact that I have always had really great service, and what was done today was done in a quality manner. Minus 2 for running the old dirty airfilter scam. read more

I went in to test drive a 2011 Prius. The price I found online was apparently reposted for $500 higher after I called in due to new brakes. This wasn't a deal breaker for me though. The main problem was that I found it a bit difficult to turn the car. It might be that I'm just not used to how the car is supposed to drive, but I thought it would annoy me in the future, so I didn't buy it. The sales person was fairly nice, but didn't know much about Priuses (it is a Ford dealership though). He did let my mom and I take the Prius for a test drive by ourselves when she was able to come look at it later (it was the second test drive). They had a 2007 Prius he let me test drive a bit as well, so I could see what the difference was (he didn't think there would be a difference, but agreed that there was one after driving it) Here are what mostly turned me off of this dealership, and the reason I rated it so low. 1. The 2011 Prius I drove was almost on empty (the last bar was blinking). 2. The 2007 Prius I drove after that was dead initially. I had to manually unlock the passenger door so he could get in. He did jump the car so I could try it out though (knowing that it was too many miles for me to consider buying). 3. He tried to open the trunk of the 2007 Prius, but the handle came off instead. I have no idea if other cars on the lot would be like this, or if I just got unlucky. I will probably find another Prius somewhere else though. read more

I purchased a new explorer for my wife from you when I traded in my paid off truck. Make a long story short, I got in home on Friday and over the weekend I found a lot of fish eyes in the paint. Have zero clue as how that could happen in such a factory controlled environment painted by a robot, but it did. So many that it really needed to get sanded and painted to get rid of them. I couldn't stomach that after paying $36,800 or so plus tax. So, we had to look for another one on the lot. Had to be the red and no other color period for the wife. Oh look, we found another one -less rebates and no power lift gate. I left there paying more money for less of an explorer. See the thing is, I normally never back down from anything or anyone and I should have just taken my trade back and started over somewhere else since your team would not make it right. At the minimum I should have left even to even, but NO. I am more pissed off at my self them anyone because I have never let something like this happen to me before and haven't since, on anything, ever and it wont happen again. I'm such a dumb ass. I asked the sales person Brandon about the price and he said it is worth more and it does not matter what the KBB value was. He got pretty tough over the phone when i told him i have a list of other dealers selling the same car and the cost and would he negotiate. He had no interest. To me a bad salesperson. I set up an appointment to have my Truck repaired under an extended warranty claim. They said they would have a loaner car for me, but they did not. The guy said he has no control over who gets a loaner. I rescheduled my appointment and asked what I could do to lock in a loaner car, as I have three young kids that I need to pick up from school, but they said there's nothing either party can do; they'll just try their best. I offered to pick a different day, come early, or call the night before. I understand it's not the service rep's fault, but company management should have a better system of assigning a loaner car to a customer at the time of reservation. I now have that sinking feeling that the same thing will happen again next week when I drop off my car. read more

First off, Jerry Chapman is one of the most professional salespersons I have ever worked with. I have to admit, I only called Jerry to appease my Ford loving father. I was positive that test driving a Fusion would rule out Ford and confirm that I wanted a Camry. Imagine my surprise when I not only loved the vehicle but was blown away but the fantastic pricing and financing Jerry and his team were able to do for me. The car was such a great deal and the entire buying process was painless! I've purchased dozens of new cars and this was one of the best experiences. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! We were NEVER told they do not do inspections on vehicles over 75,000 miles because they're sold "as is" instead. We were just told this over the phone by the sales manager, when we called to get some sort of an explanation on how they could've possibly missed this $6,000 fix. "$13,000 was a good price" But was it?! When the transmission needs to be replaced (service manager at another dealership did a full inspection for us) states the transmission fluid is full of metal shavings and looks to have never been replaced", front struts are locked up, rear shocks won't stop bouncing and it needs new tires (we could see it needed new tires) But hey, they install this super cool blinking brake light that alerts others when you tap on the brakes. When you're signing the paperwork, there it is, you're paying for that awesome $299 blinking light feature which made us think that came with the vehicle at no extra charge. I have never EVER been deceived like this and they legit do not care. It was "our responsibility to get the vehicle inspected, not theirs" As a mother of 3 children, I was looking for a safe, and reliable vehicle for our family. Had I known what I know now, I would have taken my business elsewhere. As a new father, you would think Mike Jones would have recommended the best vehicle for us, but instead, he sold us a money pit. And no, we were never offered any kind of warranty or anything on the 2011 Buick Enclave we purchased. Less then 3 months of owning it...how sad, especially during this pandemic when people are barely scraping by. You took advantage of us. And people deserve to know what kind of business is being ran. read more

This review is for the service department at Metropolitan Ford in Eden Prairie, MN which apparently should also represent all of the Ford service departments since the current reasoning for not being able to perform warranty work has to do with the corporate policy which has been in the past and is now true for the following situation my wife and I experienced on 02/13/2020, 02/14/2020 and 02/15/2020. I hope the BBB actually reads this review and performs some kind of audit or something because this is particularly egregious. Ford does not deserve an A+ rating and Metropolitan Ford as a dealer and service provider doesn't either. On the morning of 02/13/2020 after having driven to her dentist appointment my wife's 2016 Ford Escape had a malfunction with the power steering when she started the vehicle. She could not turn the steering wheel and could not put the car into gear. She turned the car off and called the roadside assistance provided by our insurance company and had her Escape towed to Metropolitan Ford where we had purchased the car and the 'premium' level extended warranty. When she arrived with the car on a flat bed tow truck, the service consultant had a technician do a computer diagnostic, the results of which did in fact show a code for the malfunction. However because my wife had turned her car off, the computer reset and the malfunction did not happen when the car was restarted and therefore the service consultant was obligated to give her the rehearsed spiel which goes something like this; "I have to justify the warranty repair by recreating the malfunction while the vehicle is here otherwise Ford will not authorize the repair under warranty". We have heard this before, when the same Escape had a problem with the suspension, one of the service consultants went on a ride along and stated that the noise coming from the right rear wheel well was actually "fuel slosh" the sound of the gasoline in the tank. It took us three visits to the service department to finally get them to begrudgingly repair the suspension and what do you know? There was a defective part found. Anyway, my wife left the Escape overnight at the advice of the service consultant with the hope that maybe the malfunction will happen again when it was started after sitting overnight in the cold. It didn't happen so I accompanied my wife to the service department the next day 02/14/2020 and received the same rehearsed spiel that we have heard before. I asked how when you did a diagnostic which showed the code of the malfunction does that not count as justification and I received the second part of the spiel which goes something like this; "I want to fix your problem but if Ford doesn't authorize the repair we lose money because we wont be reimbursed for the expense of the parts and the labor of the technicians. They won't even let us order the part" That didn't answer my question. I'll tell you after I am done with this review, which I will post else ware as well, I am going to contact Ford Corp to find out if this is in fact the truth. So I asked what our options were and the answer was to leave the vehicle at the service department until the malfunction happens again while they periodically restart it or risk taking it home and have it happen again and possibly while on the freeway driving at 60 MPH and cause an accident. For some reason Ford would rather deal with insurance issues and the possible death of someone than fix a car. Also we were told not to shut the car off if it happens again... I'm not sure but I think the engine has to be turned off if you're going to have your car towed, that just seems like common sense. We decided to leave it overnight again but no malfunction the next day so we took our Escape back into our possession on 02/15/2020. The malfunction has not happened again however we are afraid that it will and at a time when it is in motion not just in a parking lot after being driven about 5 miles on an errand. read more

After having made two attempts to test drive a Ford F-150 pick up truck I thought I should review this dealership. BOB SPEWIEK was the lovely gentleman who met me at the door. The first time I met him, I explained exactly what I was there for and it was about 4:00 in the afternoon. After taking me out to the parking lot to look inside all the pickups on the lot which were all lined up and locked, he got a page and handed me his business card and left me right there. I told him I was coming back to test drive and he said I'll be here. Fast forward 1 week. I go there at 2:00PM and again, I am put with Bob who made the 1st contact with me. I told him the exact models of trucks we were interested in and again he took my license, returned and handed it back saying we have 1 that is being prepped and if you want to come back tomorrow we can drive it. I am unable to do so, So he asked"how soon are you looking to buy it?" This is after looking on his computer at what they had in stock, talking about options and pricing. I would never buy the car at this dealership. Apparently they don't sell pickups to 5'1" 112lb women! On to another dealer. read more

Everyone in the team, from the sales person to the lot delivery guys are very customer-oriented, friendly, work on your needs, listens and work with you to get the right vehicle. OMG! DON'T PURCHASE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. I started dealing with Mick Koch who seemed nice on the phone. As an out of state buyer I reviewed the vehicle with Mike several times. He assured me he was standing at the car and it was Perfect! I was especially concerned about bad swirl marks as the dealerships often have inexperienced kids performing the detailing. Mike assured me it was perfect and there was No Swirl Marks at all. I paid extra for an enclosed carrier to deliver the car to me. The driver unloaded the car and said 'oh my god' I'm soo sorry it looks like they've taken it off road it was so muddy. The driver told me when he picked it up Mike make the comment 'oh my god' I thought this would be shipped on an open carrier so we didn't bother to clean it up at all. Mind you, before the truck arrived Mike told me personally that the car had be 'sent to the detail shop' to be cleaned up prior to shipping. Just another lie. I won't even go into the blemishes on the passenger door, the scratches on the drivers fender, the scuff marks along the passenger side, among other things. I was transferred to Matt the Sales Manager. All I requested was that I take it to a Ford dealership in my area and have it detailed to remove whatever swirls they could. Sales Manager Matt was again very indignant and told me he only mad $20 on the car and could not afford to pay for a detail. Like his bad business practices somehow became my responsibility. Do yourself a favor and purchase from somewhere else. You will find both Mike and Matt to be total liars. One lies and the other swears to it. We are talking about a 2018 vehicle that is less than a year old. All this and all I asked for was for the vehicle to be detailed as it should have been in the first place. I would have preferred zero stars but one is the least I could put. read more

I purchased a 2013 F150 from this dealership. At this time I purchased a extended warranty for 6 years 125,000 miles. I was told if I did not use the warranty I would receive my money back. At around 110,000 miles I took the truck into this dealership for a $400 repair I was told that if I used the extended warranty to cover this repair I would void getting my money back. I chose to pay out of pocket and save my warranty. At 114,000 and 5 1/2 years I decided to purchase a new truck (different dealership). I took my paperwork into Metropolitan Ford to ask for refund for my unused extended warranty. They said no problem, would submit the paperwork and I would be issued a check. Two weeks later I received a check for $190 for the amount of unused part of warranty. I talked to numerous people at Metropolitan and they stated if I did not complete the length of the warranty there was no full refund. They produced a two page form that had one sentence that stated this. The form they produced had my signature on it. The exact form I had from the time of purchase did not have my signature on it only the finance managers. After numerous trips to dealership and numerous conversations with multiple people it was clear they would not refund my money. I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership, my family will never buy another vehicle from this dealership! They pushed this extended warranty on the premise of having nothing to lose because if you never use it you will get your money back. Never once mentioning or even having me sign something that stated if you did not complete warranty time or mileage you would not receive a refund. They even scammed my out of another $400 by convincing my to pay for repair and not use warranty. I'm sure they did nothing illegal but they definitely operate in a deceiving way.
