Ordered a cord of wood 3 weeks ago. Was notified the morning of the scheduled delivery that the truck was in the shop and they would need to reschedule 8 days later. Asked them to waive delivery (which at $125 for Watertown compared to $80 for Newton is pretty darn expensive) and they wouldn't budge. read more

We had a cord of firewood delivered yesterday and I'm already very happy with the purchase. They delivered a great mix beech, ash, maple, oak and birch. I've previously bought from people on Craigslist that delivered a truckload of just red oak that smelled like cheese. I'll never make that mistake again. Metrowest Firewood is highly recommended! We have purchased our firewood from them for several years, and they never disappoint. The office staff is friendly, efficient, and quick to respond. Where other companies may make you wait a month (or more!) for a delivery, they are very quick, and its usually only a matter of days. They always unload the wood exactly where we ask them to, and with great care! This year, the poor delivery guy even offered to shovel a bit for us before unloading the wood, because we had recently had a storm. Quality of wood is excellent- seasoned well and clean. I bought 1 cord of seasoned firewood and it is very difficult to burn. There is a lot of moisture in the wood and it seems it was barely seasoned. I don't expecT it to be kiln dried quality, but this batch of wood is pretty bad. I will not buy wood from them again. read more

We ordered two cords of seasoned firewood. The wood burnt beautifully for us since the very first day. The delivery service was prompt and as promised. They also offer stacking services for fees that I thought were very reasonable considering all the work. The owner, Tom, is very conscientious.
