I've been going thru all the birthday deals on different apps and Toast had $5 off at Buddha Burger…read moreso I decided to try it for the first time. It's a large food trailer at the corner of Metric Blvd and Cedar Bend Dr in North Austin area. I got The Awakening burger from their "Forbidden Menu" which has a bunch of different bold burgers. The Awakening definitely lived up to its name since the deep fried battered jalapeño and the Awakening sauce are very spicy (and delicious). The patty isn't huge and is a smash burger style, but the burger was filling and bun was very fresh tasting. I even ran into a nice guy at the window for the pickup and we recognized each other from when he was a manager at Sonic. He's definitely at a much better place now with Buddha Burger! They also have a picnic table area with some shade if you choose to eat before you got the road again. And the corner isn't too loud, I'm fact they even had some music playing.

This instantly became my favorite burger spot around after my first visit. The staff are always kind, the food comes out fast, and everything I've had has been consistently amazing. The Cajun fries are a must. They're packed with flavor and have just the right amount of kick. I've worked my way through pretty much the whole menu at this point, including several burgers and even the chicken sandwich's, and honestly it's all been ridiculously good. The burger patties are flavorful, juicy, and perfectly greasy in the best possible way. The Nirvana sauce takes everything to another level and has become mandatory for me anytime I go. My personal favorite is the California Classic, and I always get the double because it's just too good not to. It's definitely one of those indulgent meals you try not to have too often, but every time I cave and go back, it completely delivers.

The fried chicken was cooked to perfection - flavorful, light and filling. The sauces were so good! We got medium spice level, which was pretty good but I think I'll try one level up (spicy) next time for more of a kick. If you're a spice lover I'd recommend that. I preferred the Kai Prao because of the diverse flavor profile and the addition of bell peppers for some crunch. Yum! All orders are served with a side of white rice and their house salad. A hearty, filling and affordable meal to satisfy your next Asian fried chicken craving.

They said it would be about 20 minutes for food since they were slammed, but I appreciate knowing it was made to order, so no problems there. Tried the Kaeng Panaeng and it was good overall. Huge portion size but wasn't quite what I was expecting. Salad was pretty standard but I'm glad they kept it separate so it wouldn't wilt from the heat. As for the chicken, I was hoping by itself it would be more thai inspired/marinated/seasoned but it's effectively just chopped up chicken tenders to be dunked in the curry. The curry is flavorful, albeit a bit watery, which I wish was reduced a bit. But if curry is not your thing, my friend's Kai Zabb was very good: tangy, sweet and heat all at once, so good to really switch up bites. And while I wasn't expecting sticky rice, I can't help but say it's the first time I've had thai fried chicken without it. All in all, I think its a great new place to try out, but if you've had thai fried chicken before, just temper your expectations.

Kai Zabb - Such a cool area to eat! It was much cooler under this covered area (which is also under some tree coverage).

Then there's my newest favorite Thai Cuisine by my house... their tofu and veggies Pad Thai is next level and it's been a regular for our family for a li g time. Ok so then my daughter told me about the Pad Thai at Weladee, a trailer at a cute little food park on Hamilton Ln off North 183 and now I'm 100% HOOOOOOOKED! They've ruined me and I don't see how I can ever go back to the others!!! The sweet young lady that runs the place knows her stuff and works her butt off provide the best quality authentic Pad Thai available. They have limited hours and a limited specialty menu... but it's worth the wait and well worth the price. Just GO!!! I had it for dinner tonight and can't wait to beat up the leftovers tomorrow. Lately, our top rated Yelp reviews are with food trucks. Today we were in the mood for Pad Thai, which brought us to Weladee Thai Kitchen. Weladee means "good times" in Thai. Interestingly, Weladee Thai kitchen has three entrees Pad Thai,Tom Kha and Pad Ka Pro. Pina, the owner, said she used to have 5 menu items but all she can handle currently is 3. She is the only one working in the food truck. Pina was super friendly and personable. Now, for the Pad Thai...the box felt very heavy. It was enough Pad Thai in the box to feed 3 hungry people. The noodles were fresh, soft and flavored well. There were big chunks of chicken in the Pad Thai and it was extra tender. The meal was at the perfect spice level. The food court tables had no visitors. Today the temperature is 95 degrees, i. e, sizzling hot vibe.
