    Wagyu bowl
    Eina D.

Did I just spend $45 on a wagyu bowl? I sure did. I've seen this food truck at The Domain countless times before and I finally decided to pull the trigger. Service was quick and easy. Food came out pretty fast. The wagyu was perfectly tender and came with pickled veggies that complemented it well. I also asked for each of the three sauces on the side to try, which only enhanced the flavor. I also ordered a strawberry and cream tiramisu that they outsource from Andee Bee Bakery, who offers a rotating menu of flavors. They have some seating outside their truck and plenty of parking around them. Definitely worth the splurge!

Really enjoyed Wagyu Yume! We got their gyudon to go and it was really flavorful, good portion size, definitely great value! I've been wanting to try their bbq eel bowl so will try that next time

I stopped by here to try the tiramisu they get from andee bee bakery and it was delicious! I'd recommend texting them on instagram in advance to know what flavors they carry that day (they're super responsive). The tiramisu was delicious and it was a great spot to relax with some friends and desert! Parking garage was super close by so it's a very convenient stop at the domain.

Kinda wish that this place wasn't so good because one wagyu bowl was quite pricey, but I enjoyed it so much so I guess I will have to be back! The meat was so tender. I also enjoyed the gyudon dish, wish it came with an egg like how they serve it in Japan though. Good service, owner was very nice. Food came out fairly quick. This food truck is located in the domain so it was very easy to find parking and walk over. They had one table but if you just walk around the Domain, you can find plenty of places to sit to enjoy your meal. I would definitely come back! I want to try their desserts next time.

Wow. This unassuming little food truck has the best street-style corn I've ever had - better than any of the corn from the San Antonio corn festival and a rival to the street-style corn I've had in Mexico. I never eat corn on the cob and stay away from sides of corn with dinner but I would eat this bowl of corn cooked in A5 Wagyu fat and served with the perfect blend of spicy mayo, soy, and cheese every day. The portion was a good size for the price ($8). My chief complaint when it comes to street corn is the texture but this corn had the perfect smooth texture and the right combination of toppings. We also sprung for the unusually priced top of the menu board item out of curiosity: the A5 rice bowl (the much-mentioned A5 wagyu from the reviews). Costing a whopping $45 for a bowl, the cashier insisted it was one of the best-priced A5 wagyu we would find in the area. What a good choice we made because it was an experience I'm glad we didn't miss. If you want a delicacy, an explosion of flavor, and an experience and have the funds for it, I highly recommend you try this A5 rice bowl.

This is a fun spot at the Domain away from the craziness of Rock Rose. Very few places can claim to give you wagyu but while a bit pricey, if you are in the mood for melt in your mouth A5 wagyu for about $45-this is the spot. They also give you an option of dipping sauces. I think the ginger scallion was probably my favorite with garlic teriyaki a close second. Pass on the takoyaki (not bad, but not good) and stick with the rice bowl.

This food truck just opened up maybe a month ago and serves A5 wagyu from Miyazaki. The bowl was $45 and comes with a generous amount of meat, which is seared to perfection, served with white rice and pickled veggies. The taste is on point with a good amount of fat (not too too fatty). His menu had a few other popular Japanese dishes as well such as gyudon, edamame, takoyaki, and street style wagyu fat corn. He is located nearby Dick's Sporting Goods in the Domain. There are no tables/chairs outside his food truck (as of July 2023) so be prepared to take to go or eat in your car. The owner/chef is from Nagoya, Japan.

    Half eaten Gyudon, 10/10

Their Gyudon is amazing! Not only do they bring new innovation to Food trucks with their high quality options, but their desserts are to die for. All the unique Asian flavors is pure bliss! Pandan, Ube, Matcha ?! Amazing 10/10. Will always come back

Attention all Japan wagyu lovers! Don't walk, RUN here! Seriously, the most affordable A5 in town! Yoshi does not skimp you on experiencing some authentic wagyu. I come to the domain all the time, specifically Dicks during Austin FC home games, and I have never seen this food truck before. It really is hidden in plain sight, but a hidden gem at that! Of course, I had to try the A5 rice bowl. I had it yesterday and I am still riding that high! The wagyu was cooked perfectly and all the flavors came together magically. The pickled veggies were just a nice bonus I was not expecting! I asked for the chef's choice of sauce and I am now realizing I am not sure which one I got, but it really brought the flavors together once I poured it on. Dont let the price scare you away, seriously this is a STEAL for how much of this A5 meat you are receiving. It melts in your mouth like butter. My partner is lucky I am madly in love with her because it was really hard sharing some bites. I am kicking myself for not ordering the street corn or a dessert, but I will be back very soon!

Excellent A5 wagyu bowl for $45. Really good way to try A5 for the first time. The menu is limited but creative.

    A5 Rice Bowl (so good!)

Wagyu Yume is the latest addition to the food truck scene in the Domain. They recently moved the truck to be right outside the IPIC theater, so there are now some seating options if you want to eat near the truck! I came for dinner around 5 pm on a Sunday, and there was no line despite the foot traffic in the area. The person working was super friendly and even gave me all three sauces even though the bowl only comes with one! I ordered: - A5 Rice Bowl (5/5): If you've never had Wagyu but you've always wanted to try it, this is a great place to start! Like other reviews have said, the amount of meat you get for $45 is incredible. You would pay at least twice this price at a fancy restaurant, and it would likely taste very similar. The texture of this beef is wonderfully tender, but it still has a slight bit of chew so it isn't too soft. It's perfectly seasoned with salt that really brings out the savory, meaty flavor. This dish also comes with a healthy portion of pickled veggies on the side, which are perfect for cutting through the richness of the meat. My only complaint about this dish would be that the rice was a little mushy for my taste, but it still did the job. - Street style Wagyu fat corn (5/5): I'm a huge fan of esquites, and this dish is like it's cool older brother. The corn tastes extra rich thanks to the Wagyu fat, and you can see the char marks on each kernel where it was grilled. The sauce is just a little spicy for extra flavor, and it's topped off with some fried onions for some texture. It's the perfect side for the A5 Rice Bowl! Like I mentioned, the A5 Rice Bowl comes with a choice of one sauce, but they were nice enough to give me all three sauces when I couldn't decide which one to get! The sauce options are: - Mango Ponzu: This was my favorite! This is a citrusy soy sauce with a touch of sweetness. It's not super heavy so you can still taste the meat, it just adds a little extra flavor. - Garlic Teriyaki: This is a super rich teriyaki sauce with a great flavor. If you're looking for a sweet sauce option, this is the one I would recommend. Like any teriyaki sauce, this sauce is pretty thick, so a little goes a long way! - Ginger Scallion: This was the sauce that was recommended to me. It's an oil-based sauce with chunks of minced ginger and chopped scallions. It's a very tasty condiment, but in my opinion it was a bit overpowering for the meat. You really can't go wrong with any of the sauces, but I really wanted to taste the meat in this dish so I prefer the mango ponzu for how light it is. After you order, don't wander far! The smell coming out of the truck when they start cooking is incredible. This place really deserves more hype!

    IT'S CORN!
Elote with a twist, the Wagyu fat adds so much wonderful flavor.

When I finally did, I discovered one of the best Japanese restaurants in Austin. Okay ... if you are going to pay $600 for an omikase then the omikase place is better. The tasting menu at Uchi is better. But if you just want Japanese without paying a gold brick and taking out a second mortgage on your house, Miyo Yakitori and Sushi is pretty damm fine. * * * a) Japanese curry is a utility dish in most Japanese restaurants ... and when you get down to it, in most Japanese homes. It is often what you serve on "cheap" night. Airport hotels offer it as the "free dinner" for tired travellers. The curry sauce itself here is standard issue. But they serve it with a Pork Katsu the size of Williamson county. And it is a very good Pork Katsu. That Katsu was good from Liberty Hill to Thrall and from Hester's Crossing to Jarrell. b) My carnivorous partner's Fireball Udon with Shellfish blew him away. Temperature wise and aesthetic pleasure wise. He raved about how good his udon was all the way home. c) Service was instantaneous. I think there was some sort of event horizon distortion of the space time continuum that allowed them to prepare the food and then go back in time and deliver it within a minute of it being ordered. Both of us were impressed. d) The service staff was as nice as any human beings could possibly be. * * * Great food. Great service. The folks who live in the apartment complex that Miyo is in are very lucky people indeed. Either the apartments are lovely and they get Miyo on top of that. Or the apartments are terrible, but they can still spend all their time in Miyo to compensate. Seems like a fair trade. **************** If you read the other reviews, There seems to be some controversy about this establishment. Miyo has fans and Miyo has haters. * * * Here is my read on the conflicting opinions: a) Earlier in the restaurant's history - Say about 2016, 17, or 18, The restaurant was not very good at all. I think at that time it had another name. b) There was a name change and quality went up. Sometimes when this happens there is an ownership change (or there is an owner who swaps out the management and cooking team to put in new blood.) However, things got fixed, they got fixed. c) Miyo's yakitori is apparently still not where it needs to be. I am not a huge Yakitori fan. If your broiled meat on a stick is not $80 an ounce Wagyu, Or amazing organ meats grilled in the Caucasus Barded with lamb fat and with farm fresh vegetables On another skewer for serious taste contrast ... If you are not at that high level, I don't want to pay for meat on a skewer. There are people who DO like Yakitori. They do NOT like the Miyo versions of that. * * * Yakitori is less than 20% of Miyo's menu. The rest is sushi or wonderful cooked dishes. Lay off the skewer food and you can do well here.

This isn't necessarily an every-week dinner for us price-wise--hibachi can definitely be a splurge--but if we could justify going every week, we absolutely would. It is hands-down some of the best hibachi I've ever had. And hibachi seems simple enough: great meat, fried rice, fresh vegetables, sauces. But when it's done REALLY well, apparently there is a huge difference, because Japon has completely ruined mediocre hibachi for me. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, the meat is always cooked beautifully, the vegetables are perfect, the rice is ridiculous, and I could probably consume an irresponsible amount of their sauces. The food is actually so good that it inspired me to start buying fresh vegetables, good meat, rice, yum yum sauce and sriracha and making my own little version at home. It isn't Japon, obviously, but that's how much we love this food. What really deserves recognition, though, is their consistency. We've visited both locations, they've been absolutely SLAMMED, and somehow the service is still exceptional. We've never sat around forever waiting to be acknowledged or wondering where our server went. The staff is attentive, friendly and efficient every single time we've gone. The atmosphere at both locations is beautiful and lively, and of course there's the whole experience of watching your meal prepared right in front of you. It's one of those restaurants where you leave already thinking about the next time you can justify going back. Yes, dinner for two can turn into a splurge. When we finally sat down at a regular table, we waited about 15 minutes without a server coming by. I eventually flagged a server down, and we got our order under way. We requested the manager stop by to tell him about the issue with the reservation and the fact that his hostess needs additional training, and surprise, the manager was also not helpful. He did apologize for our reservation being lost, but blamed it on the system and denied any responsibility for taking care of it - basically just told us that "life is life". He did not offer a discount or any kind of relief for the setbacks or bad service. I wasn't expecting the world or anything, but good hospitality dictates that you do more that basically tell us to just deal with it. For the food: the sushi was pretty gnarly - it looked like somebody was angry at the fish when they were slicing. Most things needed salt. Steak and fried rice was good, but the vegetables were pretty much raw. I can forgive quite a bit when it comes to service, especially on graduation/mother's day weekend. But honestly I'm a little impressed at how little the entire staff cared about their guests.
