What disappointed me most was that I originally thought I would be able to keep my old tire and take it home, because I believed I could patch it myself and keep it as a spare. In the end, that was not how it worked. Their used tire replacement process meant they kept my original tire and gave me another used tire in exchange. So it did not really feel like I was simply buying a used tire for $60. It felt more like I was trading in my old tire, which did not even have a hole that obvious to me, and still paying $60 on top of that. Then I came here, and the experience was completely different. Larry was so kind and helpful--he attended to me immediately and got everything taken care of without any pressure. They fixed the punctured tire, and while I was there I also got a tire rotation and alignment done right away. Larry originally quoted $150 for the alignment, but after seeing that it didn't need much work, he only charged me $100. That kind of honesty is rare and really appreciated. He informed me that they do not charge for a tire patching service. I relayed this information to my mom crossing my fingers that when she arrived she wouldn't receive a different answer (like most places) and Larry took care of her for FREE just as he said. My mom said that Larry and Tyler were incredibly helpful and very polite and friendly. Larry GREATLY assisted my mom by notifying her about another tire that was very low tread and also FOR FREE moved the low tread tire to the back of her car "in case anything happens before she can replace it". I was unfortunately late by 30 minutes, so I waited for two people (I think they both had alignments too?). However I was out by 90 minutes from start to finish. I think they spent about 30 minutes or less on my car which is pretty fast from my experience. They didn't scratch the rims (19 inch staggered wheels like rear 255/35R19) They used torque wrenches. I dropped my truck off on Saturday, March 14th at 9:00 AM. Around 2:30 PM, I received a call that the four tires I requested to have replaced was ready for pick up. After paying $1,061.57 for the tires and labor, I drove off the lot only for my truck to begin violently shaking, forcing me to pull over immediately. I contacted my husband, who came to assist, but the truck was undrivable. I returned to Stress Free Auto Care and explained the situation. At that point, my husband was already waiting for a tow truck. Instead of addressing the issue, we were told they were closing and would not inspect the vehicle until Monday. I could hear the mechanic complaining that he was tired and didn't want to wait around when the manager went to speak to him. I specifically asked if anyone actually drove my truck to test it and was told no they did not road test it. Obviously. Due to the poor customer service and urgency of the situation, we had the truck towed to Toyota of Orange. After inspection, we were informed that the lug nuts had been grossly over-tightened, three were broken and one was missing entirely. This was not a minor mistake; it caused significant damage to the wheel components and created a serious safety hazard. Proper torque is a basic standard that any competent shop should follow, yet it was clearly ignored. No one from Stress Free Auto Care contacted us at any point the following week. After Toyota kept the truck for a week and a half, we were left with a repair bill of $3,332.03. My husband sent a certified letter to Stress Free Auto Care, including documentation of the damages and requesting reimbursement. The manager eventually responded, offering to reimburse only the cost of the tires without acknowledging the additional damages or expenses incurred. As a result, we have filed a lawsuit to recover our losses. I strongly caution anyone to use Stress Free and to choose a business that values safety, accountability, and professional standards.
