if you don't want to spend a chunk of money, drive an old car like me and either go for the 25 bucks used tire vs the 50 new tire, then come on do you really need to decide? Either way 50.00 for a new tire + free installation? Sounds like a deal to me. I was skeptical about pulling up to the Van Nuys Auto Center where there's about 10 different types of shops to choose from but this place hit the spot (DIRTYYYYY what are you guys thinking!!) Screw justires for 75 dollars + an additonal instillation fee ...come to Mexicali Tires on Van Nuys and you wont doubt it for a second that you made the right bargain choice.

The guy who fixed my car's tire is amazing. I got there and they had a lot of cars ahead of mine and he told me not to leave. He fixed my tire fast. I was so happy because I had a long drive ahead of me. I definitely recommend this shop.

WoWoWoWoWoWoW = SO GOOD!! Women always feel like a target for the guys in the auto trade BUT not here. My dealership told me that the tread was thin and I needed to purchase 3 new tires. These guys checked them, told me they were fine, did a repair, and I was out the door for a fraction of the cost. I'm coming back here in future AND sending all my friends. This place is a joke. I have gone here twice to give them the benefit of the doubt but both times they screwed me over. 1st time I went to get my truck tires balanced and they didn't remove any of the old weights. They just added more weights on top. Not a good way to balance a wheel. 2nd time I called to ask how much it costs to install tires they said $10. I go in and they start installing the tires. When I go to pay she starts asking for $100 Mind you they speak zero English. The only English word they know is tires and don't know how to say anything else related to installing or servicing tires. Please avoid. read more

I called Monday morning to inquire about some used tires and they had them in stock. 15 mins later I was back on the road and actually got the tires for $15 less per tire than what another vendor in the same location wanted to charge. Not to mention the young lady in the office(I think her name was Bea) was so nice and engage in some great convo with me while I waited. I don't see reason for my to use anyone else for my tires now read more

Very nice people to deal with and their prices are very good. HOWEVER, they seem to have a continual issue of not being able to properly balance your tires. On more than one occasion after paying them for tires and installation my car wobbled horribly on the freeway. I went back to complain and they said the balance was perfect. I then had had to take my car to another shop who told me the balancing was done badly. I ended up paying again just to have it done properly. Now my car drives perfectly. read more

Went to a different tire place first, and they immediately told me all of my tires had to be replaced, and walked away when I said I didn't have a lot on me after dealing with a family health situation. I went here, afraid the same thing would happen, having more in my pocket, but after having been told the absurd amount of money I'd need from the other place, I was worried the same thing would happen and I'd have to leave and keep roughing it without a car for awhile. Not at all. They inspected all my tires, patched one, replaced another, and made sure the two I didn't need work done were full of air and functioning properly. All that and it was waaaaay less than my quotes at the other tire places I visited. Incredibly nice people, incredibly affordable prices. It's been months and my tires are still functioning just as well as they were the day I took my car to them. Would highly recommend them, they won't rip you off, and they'll tell you exactly what you need. read more

DO NOT go to this place to buy tires... They initially quoted me $25 over the phone, and when I got there the first guy I encountered also told me it would be $25. Then another guy tried to tell him to charge me $30 (and he was speaking in Spanish as if I wouldn't understand what was going on). I made sure the guy that was saying $25 was still around when the other guy went to run my card, but when I looked at my receipt later on I noticed they actually charged $35 for one used tire. To make matters worse, the tire that they overcharged me for is currently going flat (purchased less than 2 months ago). I have had to fill the tire with air several times over the last few weeks, but the tire is actually dry rotting. At this point I am just going to have to go to a CREDIBLE tire place to buy a brand new tire. I wish I would have just done that in the first place. My car is really old so I didn't think I would need a brand new tire, but after this experience I will not buy used tires for any car ever again. No more used tires, especially not from Mexicali Tires! read more

We found a nail in one of our tires and called Mexicali to see if they had our tire size for a replacement. Raul was super helpful on the phone and told us where to find the tire number and had us come by right before closing on a Saturday. We were planning on replacing the tire because the nail looked so big, but right when he saw it, Raul insisted he could just remove the nail and patch the tire for much cheaper. We decided to do the patch and it was done very quickly. Raul was helpful and explained things. Very professional, fast and honest. He could have easily replaced the tire for more money, but helped us save money instead. We live super close, so we will be going back for future issues. read more

My friend had been driving on a spare for about week so we decided to look for a place to patch her tire after work. In a little spot with 7 other auto repair shop we don't regret choosing this place. It was fast and efficient. Just pulled up and one of the workers helped us right away (I think his name was Pepe) it took less than 10 minutes and we were on the road again! read more

I feel pretty good about this place. My family has been in the tire industry for generations and I'm always really hesitant to try a new place. I decided to try it when I needed a patch because they has good reviews and are really close to our house. There was a slight hiccup with the job, but Mario the owner was really honorable and honest and took care of it quickly and correctly. I'm really happy with Mexicali and will probably visit them again. read more

how do you give a quote on the phone and when I come in not only charge me more but then try to keep my spare tire, how do you forget to put the spare tire back in the car and how and it ending up underneath other tires, you forgot you put that there. place sucks. read more

This review is for 06/26/2011. Looks like I forgot to write review for this place. After being in Costa Mesa most of Saturday, the drive may have work out my left tire. With Sunday being the last Dodger vs Angel Game in Dodger Stadium, I had to get a flat tire. The first that came to mind was Mexicali Tires. I know most of the Mexicali Tire locations, but I am surprised that I have not written a review for this location. The location of this Mexicali Tires is a small bit north of Big 5 Sporting Goods and directly across the UEI Van Nuys site. I called around 7:58 and found that they just opened and I had to get my tire fix right away. Since it was Sunday, most people are still sleeping at 8am. Glad Mexicali was open and I was the first customer. The guy who owns the shop got to my car right away. He found that he can still salvage my tire and started to repair it. It took him about 4-5 minutes to repair and DONE. The price was $15. This location accepts credit card since I didn't have cash on me at the moment. It was excellent to find that there is a solution to every problem especially on a Sunday morning. I am glad there are 3-4 Mexicali Tires within a 1 mile radius. I got off from work to find out that my tire pressure was low and had a huge screw in it. Went down the street to Mexicali Tires. They charged me $15 bucks and I was out of there before 15 minutes. They were fast, friendly gentlemen, who didn't take advantage of me cuz I was a girl and had no idea what to do. I appreciated that! Def will be back if I ever need any other tire service! I feel like what I just experienced at mexicali tires was some kind of wonderful dream that never really happened, but it DID... My tire had been leaking for a few days so I just popped over here on my way to work. I called in late to work expecting to wait at least an hour. I pulled up at 8:46AM, they popped off my tire, found the leak in the valve stem, changed it, put my tire back on, and removed the jack. No bull, It was 8:48AM when they finished. Then the guy said $10. I almost sharted. 2 minutes and only 10 bucks!? This was by far the best tire exchange I've ever experienced. Best tire place ever. I will always come here forever read more

Went in for a TIRE ROTATION and a man (I'm thinking he was the owner because he was there before any of the other workers arrived) wanted to charge us $20!!! Heck no! What a TOTAL rip off! Called up tires by Mark on Topanga (which is where we usually get our tires) and they told us to just tip the man that was gonna rotate them for us! I'll definitely choose to drive further out than to be paying these thieves at Mexicali tires! read more

Upon research, these budget tires average in cost of 356$ for all 4 tires. That is approximately 84% more than its actual value! If it wasn't for time constraints and emergent resolution I would've gone somewhere else. I just wish they were more reasonable with cost and not take advantage of emergent needs. I attached the exact model of the tires for your reference. I understand business needed to make money, if they charged me 400-500$ I'd probably be okay with it. But this isn't cool. Horrible customer service from the Owners son. A Performance Shop brought my G80 M3 to get MT Tires…read moreinstalled here and they later sent me pictures that my Wheel has been scratched. This scratch was not on any area that could have been scratched by me or the performance shop. The scratch is in the Wheel well, the only logical explanation is it was scratched upon removing and installing the new tires. When I reached out to the son of the owner, so they can explain what had happened or if they can get it repaired. He immediately became defensive saying he's not fixing shit and it wasn't him. I take great care of my car, and I most definitely know this was him doing a careless job, when handling my wheel. The scratch isn't anything major, but it's the principle of running a business and being able to accept when you fuck up & offering to make it right especially after being a repeat customer for years. At most it would've been a $200 repair if that, but instead he rather shit talk and cuss at a loyal customer who's brought multiple cars to him in the past. If you're considering bringing your car here, think twice about it. If they damage your car, they'll deny they did it and pretty much tell you to fuck off. Instead go to a different shop that values their customers and their cars.

Huge shoutout to Chris and Alex for always taking care of me. The last couple times I came in were completely last minute with a flat tire, and even though the shop was packed, they still got me in and fixed my tire within a couple hours. I noticed the team stay past closing to make sure every customer was taken care of. You just don't see that level of attention and customer service much these days. Some great people here man, highly recommended!

New Manager FRANK ROCKS!!!!!! There is no more price issues here. Talk to Frank he will hook you up. They are having a special this weekend Dec 7-Dec 9. I went today and he still gave me the special price. This weekend prices will be from 15-25 per tire depending on the size. Tonight when I got there I got a price of 35.00 per tire I needed 4.... Thats was going to be 140.00 for my tires that I needed. Frank walked over told me that he would give them to me for 25.00 per tire. Just saved 40.00 bucks. Dont know about you guys but 40.00 is 40.00. I can used that for a gift for xmas now. Make sure you talk to FRANK!!!!! Remember FRANK!!!! Cool guy...... I too was quoted a very low price over the phone. $25 for a used tire for my Camry. When I got there they acted like I was nuts but when I insisted I had heard correctly they just ignored me. I remembered my neighbor was thrilled with a used tire place on Balboa. So I looked on yelp and found Astro Tires. am I glad I did . They were helpful and friendly and I got my tire tax and everything for $30. I will only go there from now on. read more
