    Raspberry and cheese croissant
    Ben W.

Amazing service and ambiance at Mexicantown bakery. I walked in and was impressed with the amount of pasteries and choices at this bakery. I almost wanted a try a little bit of everything. They had free samples of tres leches and cookies. I tried the chocolate tres leches and it was delicious. All the pastries looked fresh and delicious. I opted for a cheese and raspberry filled croissant. I was happy with the size of the pastry and it made it convenient I could pick my own. The raspberry filling was delicious and the cheese added some depth to croissant. 11/10 experience!! I definitely will be coming back and recommending this place!

A wonderful spot on a beautiful day- take your treats to the park across the street and enjoy the family friendly atmosphere- everyone loves this space The choices are overwhelming so let me help you out: when you walk in: first bakery case next to the first cashier: get a jalapeño & cheese empanada (they're hot- eat it now!) and a cafe con leche- go eat at the park and then come back for take-home treats Take home/see pics: jelly coconut roll & brownie chocolate croissant Everyone who works here is very friendly- be patient with the crowds and ask questions and they'll help you out

This place was a quick stop to find something warm to drink we were completely overwhelmed what we walked into. So many tasty treats to choose from! I'd definitely go again the next time we're in the area.

We have been coming here for years for the delicious Mexican pastries. The service is always good despite it being really busy at all times. The inside is just your classic bakery. Things have changed a lot over the years (including the prices) but overall it's still one of our favorite spots.

Been coming here since I was old enough to drive! They're my go to for Tres Leches cakes. They come in different shapes and sizes, and they also offer a variety of flavors. They never disappoint! They always have a lot of staff on hand working in the kitchen and at the counter - so you never have to wait and there's never a shortage of any cakes or pastries. I never stop without getting a pumpkin empanada or a concha.

This is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. These delightful treats are fabulous and so inexpensive. The friendly staff is very welcoming. You must try some tres Leche cake, and get a coffee with your favorite dessert. This bakery is a serve yourself setting, where you grab a try and start filling it with goodies. You will love the experience and warm your belly.

This place is awesome! always a joy to come here. Always clean. food is always great and its always so hard to choose which pastry to pick!! That is the hardest part! Im always spending more than $20 just in treats!! its worth a try and they have a huge selection unfortunately with the huge selection comes staleness of course not everything stays fluffy and fresh all day

The customer service was really good they don't offer any vegan options which sucks but they do have juices so I got a juice and my friend got some cute tasty looking cake treats . Would love to see some vegan options besides juice in the future please omg

After eating dinner in Corktown, we were looking for something sweet. And since they're open till nine, we hurried over before closing. We got a few items to share and everything was enjoyable and tasty. I really liked the pink and yellow pastries (concha), but the cake and meringues were good too. And I would say, considering the prices of things these days, they were reasonable as well. The decor is pretty simple and the service was good, but I definitely felt that getting there at 8:30. Everyone was tasked with trying to get things cleaned up so they could leave for the day. Certainly not a big deal but worth mentioning. I Definitely recommend checking Mexicantown, bakery out if you're in the area.

Excellent quality Mexican bread. A long list of options from savory bread, cakes, flan, jello, sandwiches and drinks. Absolutely recommend this place is you want fresh baked quality Mexican baked goods. Service is fast, efficient since they have a few registers and the place is clean with great music playing too.

This bakery is amazing, they have such a wide variety of baked goods that are delicious as well as beautiful. They also serve coffee and hot food. The service is always good as well! Always a great experience coming here

This whole box was only $15.69!

This place is SOOOOOOO good! There are almost too many choices. lol It is easy to get overwhelmed with the options in front of you. I have not had a bad treat here yet and the prices cannot be beat! Every item is fresh and creative! Highly recommend the brownie croissant or the strawberry croissant roll!

Best Tres Leches! The texture of the cake was perfectly moist and had the right amount of sweetness. It was so much better than any other Tres Leches I've had. They have different flavors including traditional, chocolate, caramel and Pina colada. They come in different sizes and shapes. They also sell it by the slice. It's the perfect cake to bring for a celebration. The bakery also serves variety of other baked goods and pastries. I tried the spiral croissant with pistachio frosting. I thought the filling inside would also have pistachio cream but it was just plain vanilla custard. The croissant itself was a bit bland and not as fresh tasting as I was hoping for. I tried a couple other pastries that tasted stale and dry. I'd only come back for the cakes and skip on the pastries.

Monroe Street that it's located off of is under heavy construction currently so it may be a bit treacherous navigating the sidewalk outside, but the pastry shop remains open and continued to enjoy heavy foot traffic during the hour I was inside. The staff members are friendly and recommended the baklava as their most popular pastry, so I ordered one dipped with chocolate and pistachio, along with an iced latte. They had about five small tables along the wall for you to sit and eat at, but the benches are wooden and not the most comfortable for use as a study spot. My coffee was nothing to write home about, but the baklava was flaky and very sweet, definitely one of the best I've tried. They had a huge variety of other pastries too, and if they all taste as good as they look, would be worth checking out too.

The carrot cake looked delightful but the slice of red velvet looked a little dull. When it was time to indulge we started with the red velvet slice and discovered it was a waste of calories if you're a red velvet fan - the cake was dry and the cream cheese icing was anticlimactic. On the other hand the carrot cake was amazing - super moist and got a 2 thumbs up. In addition I will say the staff was very friendly and patient especially with our loads of questions. I will go back but the red velvet will not be purchased again. Also I love the overall look and feel of this bakery but do wish it had more seating.

I would not recommend as it was excessively salty. The spinach seemed to not be chopped and layered near the top. I wish I had stopped at the sweets. Best part whether special or not was the cookies. I don't know if they are baked daily or not, but they were kept in a plastic containers. The space is small, but dining at the Jolly Pumpkin tables is allowed. We probably would've skipped it if we'd realized how pricy they were. The cupcake was incredibly decadent and delicious (encased in a milk chocolate shell, inside were a layer of whipped cream and layer of chocolate ganache atop a moist and delicious cupcake). The custard in the eclair was overly rich and the dessert itself too chilled to be especially enjoyable. On a future visit, I'd split the decadent cupcake two ways and skip the eclair.
