Guacamole is to die for - everything tastes fresh as it is made to order I personally am not a fan of too much cheese and sour cream in the meal, but that can be avoided by letting the server know before hand. This restaurant is terrible. The food is soggy and unevenly heated as if it was microwaved. The service is terrible with the waitress hanging out in the kitchen having long conversations with the cook instead of out in the front available to tend to diners' needs. They don't accept the $10 for $5 voucher from Yelp. So don't buy it. There is a sign on the door saying they don't accept coupons on the weekends but the Yelp voucher is not a coupon. Regardless, restaurants are not allowed to add conditions to the terms of the vouchers that are not explicitly listed on Yelp's terms and conditions which state nothing about not being able to use it on a weekend. But the main takeaway is, the food sucks, the service is worse. Go to El Paisano a couple of blocks away for much better food and service at half the price. read more

The service was horrible. Only ordered takeout and the hostess was extremely rude. Claimed she told me over the phone they were cash only but she most definitely did not. In a very snobby fashion she told me to make sure I bring cash next time and continued to make rude remarks about how I forgot to bring cash. Making the customer feel stupid practically. Also, wondering why they would switch to cash only during Covid?? Maybe they are skipping their taxes? I have been going here for about 8 years. We were excited to try this place. Sadly, disappointed on essentially all dimensions. Can't believe this place gets such high marks in Yelp. First time we've been so out of sync with Yelp. Server uninformed at best (Chorizo? wassat?), food remarkably totally and unacceptably bland, salsa watery and foul tasting, chips cardboard, menu and table blobbed with goo and sticky, margarita indistinguishable from sugar water. Whole thing overpriced for what we got for sure. Would be willing to forgive a lot of flaws if the main courses were palatable. We've had lots and lots of Mexican and Tex Mex. Unfortunately the worst ever. Do yourself a favor and try La Lupita or Cactus Blue. (Or even Taco Bell for crying out loud) . read more

This place was amazing! We went on a Friday night last month, stopped by a few restaurants who had about an hour wait so I found this place and I'm glad I did. It's a small restaurant but the food was so authentic and delicious. Our waitress was super busy and also apologetic for the wait for our meal but they were unexpectedly busy and the food was worth the wait. We had the taquitos de pollo for appetizer and they were so big and filled with meat. My daughter got the kids chicken tenders and she loved them, she said it was one of the best chicken tenders she's ever had, that says a lot because shes picky. As a meal i got the carne asada and it was delicious and felt like you were having a home cooked meal. It brought carne asada, rice, beans, salad and some avocado. If i'm ever back in this area i would definitely go back. One thing that caught us off guard was that you had to bring your own alcoholic drinks, I don't know if this is a PA thing or in combination with all the COVID stuff going on. read more

Mexico City in the Lehigh Valley! Being a frequent visitor to Mexico City does not make me an expert, but it is uncanny how the food at Mexico Lindo transports me to that capital south of the border. We love taking friends here and seeing their reaction to the food. It is cheap, clean and friendly. I especially like the Sopes, which use a thick homemade tortilla. The chef (from Mexico City) makes his own chorizo and it is truly the best I've had in the U.S. A few months ago I would have given them 4 stars due to inconsistent and often slow service, but they seem to have solved the problem as service at each of our last 4 visits has been great. My guess is that poor reviewers are maybe looking for a traditional Mexican/American style of mexican food. You won't find it here. Try something new and you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

I was visiting the area on business and was looking for places to eat when the relatively high reviews here caught my eye. I could have had an "off" experience but I was far from impressed. To begin, I was a bit leery walking in when I noticed the handmade sign hanging from the outside railing (clue #1). It read, "WELCOME TO MEXICO LINDO AUTENTIC MEXICAN FOOD" and it appeared to be painted on an old bed sheet. At this point, I continued in as I have had some excellent food at some hole-in-the-wall, Mom and Pop type places. The sketchy theme carried through after I entered the restaurant. It was approaching 1:15pm on a Monday and there was only one table taken by three young businessmen (clue #2). I took a seat at an open table as directed by one of the two visible staff members, I believe the cook. After a few seconds of looking, I realized the take-out brochure on the table was, in fact, the menu (clue #3). I quickly perused the menu and the waitress came over and took my order, a steak burrito and a Lime Jarritos. She came back quickly with the bottle of soda, a straw, and a basket of chips with a small bowl of salsa. The serving was small but more than adequate for one person. At this point, things were looking up as the chips were served very hot and seemed freshly made. The salsa, on the other hand, was a little unique and not really my favorite. It seemed a bit pasty and some of the chunks of tomato were quite large. I'm not sure if the salsa seemed pasty because it possibly contained too much tomato paste, or because it was old and dried out. At the time, I was thinking/hoping the former. The burrito took a bit longer than I expected to arrive, about 12 minutes considering that the only other diners were already finishing their meals. I chalked this up as a plus, as I figured things were being prepared fresh. The burrito came on an oval plate and was a significant serving size. It looked prepared as described in the "menu" as it was topped with lettuce and a cream sauce. The amount of cream sauce seemed a little excessive to me (I'm trying to watch my svelte figure), so I might suggest ordering the sauce light, or on the side if you decide that you should try this place out for yourself and you fancy a burrito. Most of the shredded lettuce visible under the sauce was brown or turning brown (clue #4). At this point, I came to find that I would not be dining alone. I was joined by a small house fly that seemed to drawn to my table. Despite my swatting, Seth (sorry for the 80's movie reference), was staying (clue #5). He didn't actually attempt to land on my food but preferred to hang out on the classic plastic top/felt bottomed, red checkered tablecloth. As I was dining with a guest, I figured it proper to place my napkin upon my lap. As I grabbed my napkin wrapped silverware, I noticed that the little green paper wrap that holds the napkin around the silverware had been torn in half longways. This was either a genius method of cutting the extensive cost of wrapping napkins around silverware (I'm all about saving money, especially during hard times) or as I now look back, clue #5. In all fairness, this by itself is not a significant clue but I should mention that it is paired with the fact that there was also a holder on the table containing additional napkins. Not the same normal sized, paper, restaurant style, rectangular napkins which protected the silverware, but cocktail sized, square napkins that were about as thick as tissue paper. Again, not an earth shattering issue, but further compounded by the fact that the top ridges or edge of the napkins in the holder appeared to have a questionable cleanliness factor. I dug into the burrito despite the browning lettuce which I had dismissed as just being cut too early in the day and was not blown away by the flavor. The steak inside was tender, but the flavor seemed a little off. It wasn't necessarily bad, but at the same time, not really good either. I don't claim to be a food expert here but the cheese seemed a little funky as well. I'm not sure what type of cheese was in the burrito, but it seemed to be a little gummy or gooey; not in a desirable, melted cheese fashion but more like that of really gooey, pasty rice (not chunky or lumpy, just the gummy part). Again, this may be the normal attribute of the cheese used but I have never had anything quite like that. On the positive side, the meal was served quite hot and held it's temperature while I ate. As I write this review in the wee hours of the morning, I am awake not by choice or normal sleeping habit but because of the horrible experience my bathroom and I just shared. Though I can't blame Mexico Lindo with any burden of proof, I would say they will forever remain highly suspect in my opinion and should my travels someday take me back to Bethlehem, I will most certainly be looking elsewhere for an "autentic" meal! read more

I was here a few years ago and enjoyed the food at that time, despite the slow service. I purchased a Groupon with the intention of going again. There were specifications that stated it had to be used for lunch only, during certain hours which was ok with me. On Saturday March 12th, 2016 I tried to go there for lunch but there was a sign on the door that said they were closed. Bethlehem's St Patrick's Day parade was this day so I found it odd that they were not taking advantage of the fact that a lot of people were out and about. Oh well. I held onto the Groupon to try and use another time. My husband and I walked to Cilantro and had excellent Mexican food there instead. I thought I had my second chance on April 22nd, 2016 during a trip with a girlfriend. We arrived here at 12:20 p.m. only to find that they were closed. Their posted hours said they opened 11:00 a.m. and yet, the door was locked and there were no lights on. There was no sign either this time explaining that they were closed. Remembering how good Cilantro was, my girlfriend and I walked there and again- I had a delicious Mexican lunch with great service at a reasonable price. I then called Groupon, explained the situation about the restaurant being closed 2x when I tried to go and was issued a refund. Without them, I would never have discovered Cilantro so I have to thank Mexico Lindo for that. My advice is to walk there instead. read more

As compared to the other mexican restaurants in bethlehem (i.e. La Lupita, Tulum, etc.) it is very poor. Decent prices, but no quality. Cold food. Not authentic. "Store-bought" tasting salsa, rice, and soupy beans. My boyfriend and I bought a $10 for $20 coupon and I'm glad we did. That second person was crazy! This place has friendly staff, HUGE portions, and delicious food. I didn't like their chips, but that's my personal taste. Seeking to avoid the crowds during the Celtic Classic, led me to this family own authentic restaurant, where I was able to sit at a lunch counter, and order authentic tacos with lengua, chorizo, and carnitas. Topped only with onions and cilantro they were authentic though the tacos tore easily, (even though they were doubled). I suspect they do not make them fresh there, and they were a bit bigger than I am used to. The side order of rice and beans was a huge plate of simple rice, and very good retried beans that still had chunks of beans, rather than them being pureed like baby food. Drinks were the usual Mexican sodas including about five Jarritos flavors. Chips were good and the freshly made green salsa was spicy though a bit lacking in flavor. Excellent Mexican food !! My wife and I finally tried this place last night (Friday 4/28),stopped in around 7pm. The interior feels comfortable and has lots of cool Aztec/Mexican pictures on the walls. The complimentary chips and two types of salsa...red and tomatillo were wonderful !! We also ordered a side of their pico de gallo. YUM !! Very fresh !! My wife got the Enchilladas Suizas and I got a chicken burrito. Really really good !!! I took half the burrito home and the wife took a box too !! They also gave us complimentary Margaritas which were refreshing and tasty !! Sorry folks who raved - we were not so impressed. Had pollo mole, it was eh. And the rice was boring and the beans tasted a bit off at worst, flavorless at best. The mole didn't taste homemade, but I'm hardly a mole expert. It wasn't so bad that i didn't eat my leftovers. But i doubt we will bother to return, maybe if we happen to be in the area. Sort of felt like the kitchen staff were lurking and staring. Felt a little unwelcome. We were the only ones there. Very loud spanish game show on the tv dominated the dining atmosphere. Went for lunch today with my little family. About 2pm and it was empty. Didn't bother me none. Okay, the guacamole was made Fresh and it was great! Really good, fresh Mexican food. We have visited here a few times now and have always had a good meal. The prices are very reasonable and you can tell everything is homemade, which is always a plus. Waaaaay better than expected! What it lacks in curb appeal it makes up in both taste and service. We were initially put off by the neighborhood (sorry if you're a local), but ultimately we were glad we went.
