My friends and I got seated rather immediately which was already a green flag. Friday night, 8PM. They did not have any booth or table seating available, but they offered to seat us at the bar instead. The server/waiter came around several times asking us if we were ready to order and made sure we settled in just fine. They never rushed us to order or made us feel like we had to hurry and get fed and leave. The food came out rather quick, no more than 15 minutes after the drinks and chips arrived. Food was spectacular. I'm normally not a refried beans and rice fan, but HOLY. They do it pretty damn well. The birria tacos were tasty, and served with some well complementing consome. The only thing for me was the pricing of the food. It was a few dollars more than that of what I'd anticipate, but for the most part I got my bang for buck. I live nearby so I come here once in a while and I've always had great service and the food was always good. I guess based on reviews, it's a hit or miss on both. Been coming here since I was little so there's been a couple changes but the decor is never changed - Mexico. Came tonight (Sat at 6:30pm) and there was no wait, but the restaurant was full. Service was good. He checked up on us and took our food orders at a good pace. Food came out fast, maybe like 10min? We also ordered chips and salsa - chips were still warm so that's a plus. We ordered a taco salad, traditional tacos, tamale and combo #1. I didn't get a chance to take pics of the food because we were so hungry and it looked so good! I got the tamale. I've had it multiple times before and it was nice and thick and very hot. I highly suggest the combo because it's a little of one of everything if you can't decide. Like most Mexican restaurants, portion size are huge and will most likely have leftovers. Overall, I like this place. Oh, just like our 1st and 2nd visit... This place has "hands-down" DA BEST TAQUITOS ON ISLAND!!! However, this time we opted for something we had previously on our 2nd visit. The Guacamole Ranchero and again, it did not disappoint! Was Vibrant, Lucious, and SO... ONO!!! On our 1st and 2nd visit, my wife ordered her favorite "Chile Verde" and what's so funny; this time, she orders the El Mariachi Burrito. But, guess what? Chile Verde "inside" HAHAHA - This visit, I tried the Mamamla Burrito with fish and shrimp. This Burrito ROCKS!!! The fish; NOT fishy, but fresh, moist, and yummy. The shrimp; succulent, tender, plump, juicy, NOT rubbery. SO... ONO!!! I will definitely order that again!! The hallway for the men's restroom was rather narrow. I probably could've made it. However, the entrance to the hallway was slightly "blocked" due to the stacked beer cases on the adjacent wall to the left. My wife suggested to use the women's restroom instead as it was before the hallway and just to the right. The women's restroom is huge and roomy. I was able to maneuver my wheelchair very easily. My wife was just monitoring the door. It all worked out PERFECT!!! Oh, before I forget. We didn't know it but we had arrived during Happy Hour. Received $2 off on the Guacamole Ranchero Appetizer and my wife also received $2 off on her Lagunitas Cerveza (beer). So, Overall... We STILL LOVE this restaurant!!!!! We probably won't be back for a long while because I'm having spine surgery next week :'( But, we DEFINITELY come back for our 4th and future visits!!! Stopped here for national margarita day because my friend and I were feeling it. Parking is tight and it's easy to miss, but not the worst I've seen. Menu prices are average. The chips were ok. About a third of them were greasy and limp. We expected the guacamole to be made fresh and be a little more "authentic" (for lack of a better word) but it wasn't bad. Still had good flavor. Just expected more for the price and for it not to just be piled on a plate? I got the enchiladas. They were pretty good. Beans weren't really refried but still good. I added tapatio to really amp up the dish. For the margaritas, they were ok. I'd say the skinny is worth it. The others are mostly sweetened. For service, our waiter was rushed the whole time. Rip off!! I go here often and they never did this. But, I ordered a Don Julio margarita with strawberry. They charged me for a top shelf margarita which cost $18 with an additional $16 for don julio which comes out to $34 FOR ONE DRINK! Basically you're getting charged $18 (top shelf price) for triple sec, sweet and sour, and strawberry purée (no alcohol) $16 for a shot of Don Julio added to your drink. AND there was NO GRAND MARNIER FLOAT!! As a bartender myself this makes absolutely no sense!!! BEWARE they're ripping you off if you order a premium tequila margarita!! Better off just ordering a shot of tequila and calling it a day. At least educate your guests on pricing. Before they get a bill for $100 for three margaritas... Can't go wrong with the tasty Mushroom Skillet, but was a little disappointed with the Fish Ceviche, as the lime juice was very over powering, which made the dish very tangy, and the fish tasted like tilapia. The mushroom skillet was very tasty and cheesy I'm glad they don't skim on the cheese. I don't like beans so I ordered a chimichanga with no beans and no rice it is an additional charge to sub it for salad. Their salad is very good! The chimichanga was ok, I got shredded beef and I didn't like it. I should have got another meat. My boyfriend ordered the Mexico burrito and he said it was good, pretty basic. Parking lot is a bit small and a bit tight. Customer service is very good. The woman who waited on our table was really nice and offered to make a new chimichanga because they put beans in the one they brought out. Their horchata is very big! This last time, I got their California Burrito. It comes with a nice helping of Mexican rice and beans. Both options are tasty, but this day I went with the frijoles. I thought I was hungry, but all things considered, I only ate 2/3 of my plate. It's a testament to how generous the helpings are! I was more than satisfied. The burrito was really good. The steak was nicely well done, but not tough or dry at all. It was gently tender and packed with flavor. The other fillings served to be a good compliment, balancing out the burrito on its own, and the sides offering a good palate cleanser. This is the best that I have found so far and it's pretty darn good. The carne asada burrito plate was a generous portion and the beef was seasoned well. The rice and beans were full of flavor. I asked about my favorite, Menudo Soup, the waiter said it was good, when it arrived, it looked good, especially with the fresh sides, onions, cilantro, lime, oregano, etc... but one bite, it was sooooo, soooo salty that all you could taste was salt. you couldn't even taste the menudo, the flavor of the rich broth, all you could taste was the salt, salt and salt. It was a great deal and great food until the owners got greedy and raised all items 60-80%. On Taco Tuesday they had $5 margaritas, now $8. $5-16 shots of tequila out of a $15 bottle brought them back $80. They weren't happy with that. Instead, they insisted on $8 a shot out of the same $15 bottle, bringing them back $128. Pure Greed, one of 7 deadly sins!!
