I decided to check out the Oahu Mexican Grill while staying in Waikiki for a conference. They are on the second floor and their vibe is sweet. I shared my food allergies card and they were very kind about it and did their best to accommodate my dietary needs. I decided to eat in and ordered a Corona with lime and enjoyed the view of the ocean across the street. My food was delicious and I ate as much as I could. I noticed one of my food allergens present and ate what I could around them. The challenge of eating out witn food allergies is that there is no guarantee of having your food 100% allergen free even in the most diligent efforts. At any rate, I was happy with my meal. It was very tasty. If you happen to be in Waikiki, you gotta check out Oahu Mexican Grill.

It was a great location great vibe just not very authentic Mexican food. It was good, but kinda lacked a little flavor. Great place to have breakfast they have awesome pancakes and bacon. The kids loved it. The service was pretty friendly.

I would agree with the ratings as they stand for this place. The food reminds me of chipotle in a way with how you walk up to order and make your bowl or burrito then find a seat afterwards. During the day you get a great view of the ocean and beach since it's literally 5 steps away from the beach. They have a mini bar area in the restaurant but they only sell Mexican beers and margaritas which was a bit of a let down. Service is a bit slow and hard to get their attention when trying to get beers but otherwise it was okay. I got the steak burrito and the first bite was a bit tough with the meet feeling a bit overcooked but flavors were good

Breakfast burrito with chorizo. Comes with side of beans and rice.

Popped in for a quick breakfast snack after getting in some early morning beach time. I ordered the breakfast burrito with churizzo for the protein. Churizzo was spicy, a little greasy, but in the burrito it was very good. The server was great. The burrito came with beans and rice. Overall, hood meal and good service. I would definitely visit again.

Recently went ln vacation to hawaii and found this place in Oahu, after trying many many restaurants this one was the most filling, yummy and affordable place to eat for my family. We went tjere a total of three times while we stayed in hawaii. My food was amazing. The employees there were soo so nice, my mom ordered some red chilaquiles and there were wayyyyy too spicy for her so an employee offered her some green ones for free withouth having to ask. There is very cute beach view from the restaurant. Its usually quiet with music playing in the background and it doesn't get too crowded in there!

    Pretty tasty!

Service is great! Limited menu, but fish tacos are good and flavorful. Gotta add that spicy cilantro sauce... yes it's pretty hot. The chipotle sauce is tame in comparison. I don't like black beans so pinto beans are an alternative add some salt and they are good! Rice I added the cilantro sauce and my throat is on fire. I might need another margarita

The size of the burrito is HUGE! It was very filling.

Here again! Ordered their chicken enchiladas special and boyfriend got the carne asada and burrito. Both were delicious! We also got the carne asada fries. Loved that the fries were super crispy so it didn't get soggy. All the dishes were perfectly seasoned. Service was great. Orders were done correctly. Very casual atmosphere. You come in, order your food, they give you a number, find your own table and the food is served to you. One thing I noticed is that they put a net over the windows so the birds and bugs can't come in anymore. Nice place to have a meal.

Went to Oahu Mexican Grill at 2520 Kalakaua Ave for Breakfast this morning. This was our first visit. The sign says Loco Moco, waitress says we discontinued that. So we ordered the boring breakfast and the local fried rice and two coffees. The coffees were whipped espresso and Coffee Cocoa. I can honestly say we will never return here again. The coffee was supposed to be hot and it was cold. I asked for it to be heated up but they don't have a microwave. The one girl made me a new one. This is why I gave them a one and not a zero. The food was hot but not tasty at all. The ambiance is old school Hawaiian fast food sit down. Wife got an upset stomach and ruined to rest of the day had to return to the hotel.

Sorry forgot to take pic before I started eating. Pancakes came with bananas and a delicious whip cream. So good!

Walked in for breakfast. At first it looked empty but then we saw a few people at tables. Got a seat looking out at the ocean. Food was so good!!! Husband got breakfast burrito, daughter got Boring Breakfast and I got the pancakes. Food came out quick and hot! Ate so much and none of us could finish it all. Definitely going back!!! The atmosphere was very nice for breakfast. Looking out at the ocean. They had music on but not so loud it was a nice volume. So far I think it's our favorite Price was more of what were used to back home. Food, two coffees, and pineapple juice came to just over $61.

If you're ever on Waikiki and need a break from the hotel and chain restaurants or Poke Bowls and Musubi, have we got a spot for you. OMG! No, that's the name OMG - Oahu Mexican Grill. They have two locations, we tried the one on the corner of Kalamaua and Ohua. There's signage, but it's upstairs and easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. This is the Hawaiian version of Chipotle, but with way more options. Tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, or pineapple-stuffed carnitas, it's all the Mexican food staples in a fast casual, order from the counter, customize how you want it, restaurant. They make it to order, using fresh ingredients, and the food tastes like it. They won't scrimp either. One order might make a couple of meals for a lot of folks. We have a high bar for Mexican food, and this place exceeds it every time we go. Tender meats, rice, beans, all seasoned perfectly, and flavorful salsa. Mexican food doesn't need to be over complicated to be good. OMG realized this and delivers a great product. Given this location, it's very touristy, but don't let that cause you to pass it by. The staff have always been friendly and willing to accommodate. Yes, you will pay a location premium, but it's definitely worth it. Just so you know and one day your children will know... when u get a burrito to go for ur hike a diamond head ... that burrito will be the highest a burrito has ever been and that's the night the lights went out in Georgia .... I mean Honolulu , lmfao

This is mango margarita. Yea, it looks pathetic.

Pros: -next to ocean (although view is somewhat obstructed by trees) Cons: - food was very bland. Like food truck or else. At first I thought it's a fast food joint. Definitely not high quality restaurant. -tiny water cups provided -staff was not rude but didn't go out of their way to explain their menu when we asked since it was our first time there. Very poor customer service. Nobody asked us to refill our drinks and when we asked for more water, waiter literally just showed his hand towards a water station. Kinda embarrassing. Overall verdict: -SKIP, unless desperately looking for very average fast food experience.

Friendly customer service, cool location, fun decor and nice views! The food was delicious, and yes those nachos are definitely shareable. But what I absolutely love most about this restaurant is the commitment to creating training opportunities and promoting independence for those with different needs and abilities, I didn't know that until we entered the restaurant and I saw the sign but I can tell you right now, had I known that before this would have made my list as a place to try regardless.

Have they opened the large seaside windows and let you breath fresh air and smell the ocean ? Is there a TAco Tuesday with beer special?

OMG is open air. I'm not sure about Taco Tuesday since it is inexpensive everyday.

Can I make reservations ahead of time?

No this place is like Chipotle. Step up and order from behind the sneeze-guard. No reservations. The line does get long though so be prepared.

No, they don't validate. The best parking option is a paved parking lot area near the zoo & it's only $2. It's a short walk to OMG. Here is the address near the parking lot:…

They just opened this month (February). They're on Kalakaua Ave above Burger King

It was our first time dining here last night (7/11) and what a gem of a restaurant! Chris was our…read moreserver and let us know the specials of the day. He described everything with such care that it was hard not to order everything! I'd highly recommend a reservation as there was not an empty table the entire two hours we were there. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it can get quite loud but our table had great conversations and a overall lovely time. Appetizer: We ordered the konpachi hush puppies (apologies, they had a nicer name but this is how they were described to us) and they were delicious! I'm not a lover of fish, but these were so flavorful and the sauce paired perfectly with it. Drinks: I had the meringue di cedri to drink and it was akin to a lemon drop (10/10) it was sippable and lasted my whole meal. Husband had the Hana Koa Rice Breaker, which is one of his favorites as its smooth and pairs well with honestly anything. Entree: You will be missing out if you don't get the lemon risotto. I ordered it with the prosciutto and it may be one of the best meals I've had in Hawaii. The zucchini is done two ways in it: diced to be mixed in with the risotto and thinly sliced and grilled on top of the risotto. The panko crumbs on top really solidified the plate for me as top tier as risotto can get to be boring to eat after a few bites as they can lack texture, but not this risotto! Every bite was a journey and it was a very filling meal. My husband ordered the Korean steak and said it was better than some of the local steakhouses we had gone to. Our friend ordered the spaghetti carbonara and enjoyed it as well. Dessert: We were encouraged to try the Rocky Road ice cream and decided it was a must have when you visit. It was creamy, rich and delectable. We also opted to try the dessert special of the evening which was a Lilikoi cheesecake with a chocolate mousse. The cheesecake had a sour tang to it and the chocolate mousse partner with it to balance it out so it wasn't overly sweet. We loved it and I know in a few days we'll be craving this meal all over again!

France meets Italy - meets Hawaii. I'm still dreaming of this. The burger features a thick, juicy, 8-ounce grass-fed patty made from a custom house-selected blend of short rib, chuck roast, and brisket. Get it with the crispy potatoes. You will thank me. Risotto on point. Luxuriously rich, creamy texture. The rice retains a slight al dente bite in the center, giving it structure rather than letting it become mushy. Prosciutto adds a perfect salty, savory crunch to break up the rich risotto. The only misstep was the fries served with the quinoa burger. They were chalky, served at room temperature, limp, and underseasoned. Excellent friendly informal service. Park at the municipal parking on Bethel St just 1/2 block away. Happy Eating!!

Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. The smoked octopus was sliced in pieces that were too thick and a little too chewy and the andouille sausage and black pepper overpowered the dish. Ordered the bourbon and bone marrow mostly for the presentation. It was WAAAY too rich and needed more bread to go with it. They should've served it with bread that wasn't buttered because the buttered bread even though tasty by itself was just too rich in combination with all of that bone marrow. The dish needed more balance. The ice cream sundae was unremarkable. Would have preferred it served with a choice of hot fudge or the caramel drizzle and since it was plain vanilla ice cream they could've drizzled a lot more caramel over it. The waitress did bring us more nuts when we asked, but they were busy at the time and she was the only server so it took her a while to get to us, and the ice cream was pretty melted by the time she delivered. We got there when they opened at 5 PM and they had two servers at that time. The place wasn't busy so it seemed like they had enough help for the amount of tables that were being seated. An hour and a half later, though, one server was missing (possibly taking a lunch break) and the only server remaining at several big parties to take care of which slowed down her responsiveness to the other smaller tables like ours. The music playing in the background seemed to fit the environment and was pleasant to listen to. It's a pretty casual atmosphere. The prices for what you get are a bit on the high end. Probably wouldn't go back unless someone else is paying. We didn't feel too bad this time because we had a gift certificate which covered most of our bill. Maybe we were choosing all the wrong items and should have just stuck to ordering meat dishes, which they might be better at making (with a name like Livestock). You'll have to check this place out yourself and see if they do a better job with meat and if the prices for those dishes are more reasonable. I gave this place four stars instead of three because the servers were friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was mostly okay (tasty enough and filling).

I'd never been to their other locations, so this was my first experience -- and honestly, it left an impression. That spot in Kapolei has seen a few restaurants come and go over the years. Before Scratch Kitchen, there was Sugar Cane, and if I reach far enough back, I'm pretty sure a Mexican restaurant lived there too. It's one of those spaces where you hope the next place finally sticks. But the food at Scratch Kitchen? Absolutely delicious. The kind of meal where the pictures alone make your mouth water. If "smell‑a‑vision" or "lick‑your‑screen" technology existed, everyone would understand exactly what I mean. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully done, and perfect for a Mother's Day treat. Which is why I can't help but wonder what happened -- like so many restaurants before them in that same location. With food that good, you'd hope they'd be the ones to break the cycle. All in all, I'm grateful I got to enjoy that meal with my daughter. It was memorable, delicious, and one of those small moments you hold onto. Marie

Either way, it made for a super relaxed experience with no wait and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the food. Loved: The street tacos with the tempura shrimp were easily the star of the meal. 100% worth it. Light, crispy shrimp with a flavorful slaw and just the right amount of heat--basically a flavor party in every bite. The burger was another quiet star. Juicy patties, nicely seasoned, and stacked just right. Nothing super flashy, but really satisfying. Definitely a good pick if you're not in the mood for brunchy stuff. The Miss: Tried the French toast and... meh. It looked great on the plate but tasted dry and definitely didn't live up to the level of the other dishes. Might've just been an off day or a matter of personal taste, but I'd skip it next time.

I know this is a revered institution, but our visit just wasn't very good. We went for breakfast:…read morethe pancakes were good, but the American Breakfast wasn't, and the potatoes were undercooked with a flavor that was almost too earthy. The pastries were just okay; we tried a few cake slices that were fine but unremarkable. The cinnamon roll was dry and hard, the malasadas were forgettable, and the haupia-filled malasada was surprisingly tart. It's possible some ingredients were locally sourced and just unfamiliar to our mainland palates, or maybe we simply caught them on an off day. The servers were curt but friendly, likely because the place was packed with tourists.

It was so sad this business is closing down by Oct 31st. With rising food costs, inflation and…read morestaffing, it's understandable but I wish best endeavors for Chef Jason Peel and his staff. My fiance won a gift card actually 2 of them (from his coworker whom could not get a reservation secured), we knew we had to make the trip over before they officially close. We had multiple dishes, but staff made Kauai prawns and tomato miso black cod dishes on the house since they ran out the Hokkaido scallops. We ordered the short ribs, lobster appetizer, hamachi crudo and lastly sashimi moriawase to finish food palate. Lukki lemon dessert was great way to end to night. Ordered the Milk tea bouquet cocktail while my better half had water ( either way the food coma knock him out cold the rest of the night lol). To be honest, it was difficult to determine which dish was the best because the staff kept quality there despite it being busy every night since they announce the closure. Sashimi moriawase, fish was so fresh, reminded me of my time spent in Hokkaido and Sapporo. Short ribs was soft and rich in flavor. Both me and my fiance liked the lukki lemon dessert, like lemon meringue pie but broken down version. If you have a chance to dine here before closing and got a reservation, definitely will have a lovely dining experience and your stomach will be full by end of the night.

We had leftovers for breakfast the next day! - For appetizers we got: Ulu Tots, Japanese Eggplant, and Corn Beignets. The Corn Beignets was the best. - For entree we got: Tomato Miso Black Cod and the Short Rib. Both were delicious and worth a try. Sad to see that this restaurant appears to be closing.
