I'm sure the place is more lively with more etíope, but it was still pleasant to sit and eat with some background music playing. Food was absolutely delicious! It's a bit on the pricey side but you will definitely leave full and satisfied. I ordered the Pollito Pibil and my boyfriend ordered the Lechon Congri. We CLEARED our plates. We also ordered the Street Corn appetizer which was very tasty. Service was quick as well with be dry attentive staff. We were in and out in less than an hour. They have all day happy hour on Mondays. The pork belly toast was prob our favorite of the night. They also have a handful of cocktails on their happy hour menu! What a great place for good food and cocktails. There was even a live performer singing! I loved their margarita sampler which was perfect because I was able to taste them all. Finally was able to visit this restaurant. It was on my list for a while and was finally able to make it happen. Sunday brunch was EMPTY when we arrived which was surprising. The food was pretty good, however nothing spectacular that wowed me besides the Jalepeño Pork Belly Toast. I could tell the rice wasn't freshly made in the Cochinita Pibil entree, although the presentation was nice. Service was attentive and considering we were the only table. The restaurant itself is really modern and clean. The ending was disappointing when the waiter brought the check. I found it distasteful to have a separate cash versus credit card pricing. This is the first time I saw an itemized side-by-side breakdown (see attached photo). The owner should reconsider having a single price point for their items. Increase your price to build in any credit card fees. The menu reflects the cash price and there's no indication of a different credit card price anywhere until they bring your bill. read more

Wow! I really loved it here! It's in a pretty unassuming location, but when I walked in I was pretty blown away! You park into a strip mall and walk into a tropical paradise! I loved the feel of the space. We sat in the bar for brunch and the service was fantastic. We were served quickly and checked on frequently! The brunch food was also great! The food here is delicious. The mole croquetas are to die for. Each dish that comes out has a great authentic flavor. Unfortunately; the service is always pretty slow. I've been to mexicuban 3x because the food is so good, but each time, my drinks take at least 20 minutes to come out. I have never been there when the restaurant is full, so I'm not sure why it's so slow and the service is inconsistent. The appetizers and entree are not spaced out well, sometimes arriving at the same time. One of the times I went, the server never took a drink order, and gave us our check right after dinner without offering dessert. Cute restaurant on maple valley hwy. Honestly, I was expecting more of a fast-casual spot but it a legit sit down restaurant. Prices reflect that. The menu isn't huge, but I appreciated the vegetarian options and the gluten free options being very well indicated, and they did sound good. I got the enchiladas and partner got the chimichangas. Their menu is well versed with bowls, salads, sandwiches and burgers and appetizers! Their drink menu is even well rounded! Cocktails, margaritas, wine and beer. We started off with a flight! They have 3 kinds: margarita, mezcalita (smoky tequila) and mojito. We tried the mezcalita and mojito flights! Out of the 4 flavors, there were 2-3 I really liked from each flight! The presentation was colorful, beautiful and labeled with each flavor! The food was spectacular! We got appetizers and asked our server, Pam which ones she recommended. We decided on the pork tostones and the croquetas con mole! OMG they were out of this world! Great flavors all around! The mole sauce with the croquetas was *chef's kiss* Next up, we ordered their fluffy tacos! You must try these! A unique taco that is "fluffed" up and you get 2 of them. Last, I got the pineapple shrimp bowl! So gooood! The shrimp was plump and juicy and the flavors of bowl had purple rice, black beans, chunks of pineapple with (2 plantains I believe). I was sooo looking forward to trying this place and ended up super disappointed. I found it on ubereats and decided to order to celebrate the end of the semester. I ordered three things: the pork tostones, the MexiCuban burger, and the caramel filled churros. The bag was delivered stapled shut, but immediately when I picked it up I knew it was way too light for three items. To my dismay, the entire burger was missing. The burger was intended to be my main entree, so I was just super disspointed with the service. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that it was an honest mistake, but the bag was really empty and I only ordered three things! The pork tostones were pretty good, and the churros were amazing, but when I had waited the whole time expecting certain things, it just wasn't the same. I would definitely try the fluffy tacos - the taco shells have an addictive texture kind of like a chewy tamale, and surprisingly not greasy. Why I'd give it 4.5 stars is due to one night when my wife was determined to eat out with our dog, despite a decent downpour, we were able to be seated outside under the covered lanai and have a great meal, served by a very friendly waiter whose cooperation to intermittently bear the weather with us was the only reason we were able to have our meal--he was fantastic and everything was great! The decor is very nice, modern, rattan touches, warm and inviting with different table sizes to accommodate small to larger groups. The food is as amazing as it looks. Thanks yelpers for the recommendation on the pork belly appetizer! 4 huge pieces could serve as an entree. Loved the mix of salty, sweet, smokey, spicy. We ordered the Beef Ropa Vieja and Pork cochinita pibil entrees. Super stuffed with the tasty goodness. There's plenty of tables and the ambiance inside gives vacation destination meets chain restaurant. The menu had a lot of delicious options and I started with a flight of mezcal margs - the waiter asked if I was ok with smoky but I never really got smoky from the flight. Just tasted like well poured drinks. Then I moved on to the pork belly toasts with jalapeño and that was a 10/10. Had the papas rellenos potatoes and they were breaded and lightly fried so flavorful. My entree was the sonora steak salad and that dressing made it slam! There's a photographer that walks around and takes photos and i thought it was for the restaurant but it's $20/photo and well we decided to pass bc we didn't see any that worked for us and they come in a glass frame without the option to just have the photo. But, let talk about the real reason to visit.... the women's bathroom and the selfie lighting gives photoshoot! read more

Not sure if he's not experienced or having a bad day, but our experience with him was not great. 3. Made a boomerang at 7:14 of the free champagne. 3 minutes later we put in our drink and appetizers order. This is where it went down hill. 4. Took 30 minutes for our drinks. 5. To 40 minutes for our first appetizer to get to the table. It was amazing. Get the street corn 6. Took 55 minutes to get our second app. The Jalapeño pork belly toast was amazing. A must try. We didn't even get to order food because our service was extremely slow and our server, Samuel barely checked on us. Address is Renton, but I would call it borderline Maple Valley. Whatever, it was worth the drive. Saw an Instagram reel of this nice place and bookmarked it right away. Very straight forward what it serves, a blend of Mexican and Cuban food which Cuban food is pretty rare to find in this area. Our service and meal was great. Dear lord, everybody knows I love tacos, it doesn't matter what type, I enjoy authentic street tacos to Americanized crispy tacos from Taco Time, but I discovered it in a new form this day, fluffy tacos! We ordered steak fluffy tacos and cochinita pibil which is roasted pork in spices, it comes with a side of rice, beans, some veggies, fried plantains, and tortillas to roll it all up. So the ambiance is loud. Music playing really loud can't hear others at your table talking. Took my server 20 minutes before she greeted us. And that was only because my mom asked the manager for our server. The food is good, very Cuban. Will I come hear again...only for the bottomless mimosa for $16.
