My favorite is their spicy margarita mix, containing 400 Añejos house mezcal, triple sec, habañero tequila, pineapple & ginger beer. Tasty combo!! I also LOVE their Chi-le-gusta, including mezcal, triple sec, orange, lime, bitters
They have all day happy hour on Mondays. The pork belly toast was prob our favorite of the night. They also have a handful of cocktails on their happy hour menu! The presentation of the food was great! The tacos de castana were a little underwhelming in our opinion. The staff was great though so we'll prob be back.
Finally was able to visit this restaurant. It was on my list for a while and was finally able to make it happen. Sunday brunch was EMPTY when we arrived which was surprising. The food was pretty good, however nothing spectacular that wowed me besides the Jalepeño Pork Belly Toast. I could tell the rice wasn't freshly made in the Cochinita Pibil entree, although the presentation was nice. Service was attentive and considering we were the only table. The restaurant itself is really modern and clean. The ending was disappointing when the waiter brought the check. I found it distasteful to have a separate cash versus credit card pricing. This is the first time I saw an itemized side-by-side breakdown (see attached photo). The owner should reconsider having a single price point for their items. Increase your price to build in any credit card fees. The menu reflects the cash price and there's no indication of a different credit card price anywhere until they bring your bill.
What a great place for good food and cocktails. There was even a live performer singing! I loved their margarita sampler which was perfect because I was able to taste them all. Their empanadas and the plantain cup appetizers were so delicious! The carne asada was good too and came with a little bit of everything as well.
The food here is delicious. The mole croquetas are to die for. Each dish that comes out has a great authentic flavor. Unfortunately; the service is always pretty slow. I've been to mexicuban 3x because the food is so good, but each time, my drinks take at least 20 minutes to come out. I have never been there when the restaurant is full, so I'm not sure why it's so slow and the service is inconsistent. The appetizers and entree are not spaced out well, sometimes arriving at the same time. One of the times I went, the server never took a drink order, and gave us our check right after dinner without offering dessert. I really want to keep supporting, so I will, but I hope the service can improve. Food - 4.5/5 Service 2/5 Ambiance 5/5
Wow! I really loved it here! It's in a pretty unassuming location, but when I walked in I was pretty blown away! You park into a strip mall and walk into a tropical paradise! I loved the feel of the space. We sat in the bar for brunch and the service was fantastic. We were served quickly and checked on frequently! The brunch food was also great! I got carne asada chilaquiles and my wife got the quesadilla! All was really tasty and I will be coming back to try out dinner!
Cute restaurant on maple valley hwy. Honestly, I was expecting more of a fast-casual spot but it a legit sit down restaurant. Prices reflect that. The menu isn't huge, but I appreciated the vegetarian options and the gluten free options being very well indicated, and they did sound good. I got the enchiladas and partner got the chimichangas. Each of us had a margarita. Everything was fine. Just fine. Nothing stood out as particularly good or not good. I would not go out of my way to go back, but it was... fine.
Went here for my husbands 50th birthday. The staff were excellent. The owner called me regarding my request for reservations, he was a pleasure to work with. The food was so good and the ambiance was wonderful. Can't wait to try the brunch!!
FANTASTIC restaurant and service all around! My guy friend and I were looking for a lunch spot and wanted to meet half way. I sent him this place and I recently stumbled across it on Yelp. Great place to park where it's next to several small businesses and eateries in the area, including a sushi place and subway. When you walk in, the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL! Wooden or bamboo light fixtures, zen colors, a beautiful mural towards the back. They have a lot of booths and cozy lounge chairs. Their menu is well versed with bowls, salads, sandwiches and burgers and appetizers! Their drink menu is even well rounded! Cocktails, margaritas, wine and beer. We started off with a flight! They have 3 kinds: margarita, mezcalita (smoky tequila) and mojito. We tried the mezcalita and mojito flights! Out of the 4 flavors, there were 2-3 I really liked from each flight! The presentation was colorful, beautiful and labeled with each flavor! The food was spectacular! We got appetizers and asked our server, Pam which ones she recommended. We decided on the pork tostones and the croquetas con mole! OMG they were out of this world! Great flavors all around! The mole sauce with the croquetas was *chef's kiss* Next up, we ordered their fluffy tacos! You must try these! A unique taco that is "fluffed" up and you get 2 of them. Last, I got the pineapple shrimp bowl! So gooood! The shrimp was plump and juicy and the flavors of bowl had purple rice, black beans, chunks of pineapple with (2 plantains I believe). Pam was so kind and accommodating to us! Thank you for making our first time here a memorable one! We will definitely be back! They have live music on Saturdays and they even host private events or special occasions!

Now, make a restaurant that hits those fusion notes, and make it something all of their own. A place that celebrates these unique differences and then puts it on a plate. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you MexiCuban in Renton! MexiCuban has food trucks that lure you in to their style of cooking, and has other locations, like in West Seattle, Washington, that lets you know they are here to stay. In Renton, the decor is set to put you in a mood that you will be tasting their signature cuisines. And I was definitely ready to eat! Looking at their menu ahead of time is encouraged, so you can prepare yourself, but I was ready to walk-in and take it all in! We were welcome by staff and the owner themselves and treated to their specials to include smoked margaritas (with only the best tequila), and their Croquetes con Mole to start us off. I was overwhelmed by their pulled pork, and grilled salmon offerings. Each had their own seasonal flair with rice, grilled corn and mole, all to excite the senses. Also don't forget to try their signature fluffy pulled pork taco. It's what I start out with everytime. The service is also top notch with an attentive staff that really wants you to have a great dining experience. Allow them to show off a little - they are proud of their work, and I am proud to call them a restaurant to bring friends to for a special meal! Come see how the Renton MexiCuban does it. And don't forget, the menu is subject to change for the season. So you will have to come back for more. I definitely recommend it!
I was sooo looking forward to trying this place and ended up super disappointed. I found it on ubereats and decided to order to celebrate the end of the semester. I ordered three things: the pork tostones, the MexiCuban burger, and the caramel filled churros. The bag was delivered stapled shut, but immediately when I picked it up I knew it was way too light for three items. To my dismay, the entire burger was missing. The burger was intended to be my main entree, so I was just super disspointed with the service. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that it was an honest mistake, but the bag was really empty and I only ordered three things! The pork tostones were pretty good, and the churros were amazing, but when I had waited the whole time expecting certain things, it just wasn't the same. Hopefully the experience is better dining in, but I don't know if I would make the drive after this experience and I would definitely never order delivery from here again.
The food was really good; the owners seem to have really honed their skills with a successful "on wheels" business. Our margaritas were solid. The service was good and the building is modern and sparkling clean with nice decor. Our one complaint - the decibel level of the music! Our ears were ringing by the time we left. I get the desire for a lively vibe, but the music needs to be turned down a bit.
This was my first time eating at a Mexican + Cuban fusion restaurant and wow I'm sold!!! Stepping into the restaurant immediately transforms you to the sun-soaked Caribbean paradise being surrounded by colorful murals, tropical plants, and beautiful traditional artwork! The atmosphere is so warm and cozy - you can see the intention and detail behind everything. Every single dish is bursting with bold flavors and made with traditional & innovative techniques. The presentation is so aesthetically pleasing as well! There's also a beautiful full bar with lots of great drinks options on the menu. The staff are very attentive and helpful, which made us feel like we were dining at home.

AMAZING FIRST EXPERIENCE!! Came here on a Saturday at 3:15 pm and it was EMPTY! Walked right on in and sat immediately. I'm sure the place is more lively with more etíope, but it was still pleasant to sit and eat with some background music playing. Food was absolutely delicious! It's a bit on the pricey side but you will definitely leave full and satisfied. I ordered the Pollito Pibil and my boyfriend ordered the Lechon Congri. We CLEARED our plates. We also ordered the Street Corn appetizer which was very tasty. Service was quick as well with be dry attentive staff. We were in and out in less than an hour. Definitely recommend trying this place out! read more

I was excited to see this place go from truck to restaurant in my local neighborhood. They've got a great happy hour and a delicious Mezcal flight. Cute ambiance for a date night. They've also got live music here occasionally which is on my to do list! read more
Food: 5/5! This was my first time having Cuban food, and fusion at that. Flavors and textures were all complex, fresh, and prepared well. I would definitely try the fluffy tacos - the taco shells have an addictive texture kind of like a chewy tamale, and surprisingly not greasy. The chicken pibil had wonderful condiments that you could add to each bite as you like. Portions look deceivingly small and we ended up quite satisfied. Will have to come back to try their brunch. Service: 5/5, our sever was friendly and helpful. Didn't have any wait even on a Friday night. Ambiance: uhh depends when you go. Restaurant itself is beautiful, spacious, and has easy parking... but don't come on a Friday night if you're prone to migraines or tinnitus haha. There was a live DJ blasting LOUD rave music - just not my thing. Otherwise I'm sure on other days it's totally fine. read more

The happy hour is excellent--great prices, generous portions, and drinks that are actually worth ordering. The food never misses: bold flavors, beautifully prepared dishes, and a menu that makes it impossible to choose just one thing. On top of that, the service is consistently fantastic--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about both the food and the experience. We keep coming back, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend. read more

Looking for a new place to try and saw this on Yelp. Just down the road from the Maplewood golf course. We arrived on a Monday, no wait, service was friendly and attentive. The decor is very nice, modern, rattan touches, warm and inviting with different table sizes to accommodate small to larger groups. The food is as amazing as it looks. Thanks yelpers for the recommendation on the pork belly appetizer! 4 huge pieces could serve as an entree. Loved the mix of salty, sweet, smokey, spicy. We ordered the Beef Ropa Vieja and Pork cochinita pibil entrees. Super stuffed with the tasty goodness. This is a place we would come with friends - to order some apps and puffy tacos and to try their tasty looking cocktail list. Next time I'm definitely getting a Mezcal flight! read more
This restaurant is really nice place! Very clean, had a high end vibe feeling. The presentation of the food was great, we ordered the fluffy tacos Arrachera and Pineapple shrimp, delicious! The wait staff are friendly, polite and gave an excellent service. Our drinks were enjoyable, I had the Mexican coffee and my husband tried the mango habanero margarita! We did a walk-in for 5 people and the waitress was very welcoming. We were seated within seconds of arriving. They had variety of seating and the ambience of the place was amazing. It's a hidden place but a gem. There is plenty of parking and I ordered the corn and the fluffy taco. The corn was sour and tangy. The fluffy taco was like puri and had veggies on it. Follow me on IG: @solo_inseattle I made reservations for 645p just in case this new location was highly sought by the Maple Valley locals. But, it wasn't and was nice and open on a Friday night. There's plenty of tables and the ambiance inside gives vacation destination meets chain restaurant. The menu had a lot of delicious options and I started with a flight of mezcal margs - the waiter asked if I was ok with smoky but I never really got smoky from the flight. Just tasted like well poured drinks. Then I moved on to the pork belly toasts with jalapeño and that was a 10/10. Had the papas rellenos potatoes and they were breaded and lightly fried so flavorful. My entree was the sonora steak salad and that dressing made it slam! There's a photographer that walks around and takes photos and i thought it was for the restaurant but it's $20/photo and well we decided to pass bc we didn't see any that worked for us and they come in a glass frame without the option to just have the photo. But, let talk about the real reason to visit.... the women's bathroom and the selfie lighting gives photoshoot! read more

I don't know what it was. My husband and I did not have a great experience for our first Valentine's Day as a married couple. This place looks amazing on Instagram and Yelp, but we had a bad experience. Here is what we experience. 1. We were seated at the booth at the back by the bathrooms. Not a bad spot, but it's like the area where you put the bad kids and forget about them. 2. Server name was Samuel. Seemed like a cool dude. Not sure if he's not experienced or having a bad day, but our experience with him was not great. 3. Made a boomerang at 7:14 of the free champagne. 3 minutes later we put in our drink and appetizers order. This is where it went down hill. 4. Took 30 minutes for our drinks. 5. To 40 minutes for our first appetizer to get to the table. It was amazing. Get the street corn 6. Took 55 minutes to get our second app. The Jalapeño pork belly toast was amazing. A must try. We didn't even get to order food because our service was extremely slow and our server, Samuel barely checked on us. Now we could of had an off day with Samuel and that booth, but just where we were sitting and the service we had we did not have a great first Valentine as a married couple at a hit Instagram spot. read more
My friend told me about this place, so I gotta try it. I believe they just recently open. We were the first customers that day so it's pretty empty. Nobody at the hostess desk, so we kinda have to peek our head in to the bar/dining area. We came here for a ladies night / belated birthday and it was great!!! We didn't say anything about it being for my bday but the staff was so attentive they provided a complementary slice of cake. The rice had a unique twist and was wonderful! I loved the empanada appetizer. The appetizer was on happy hour special for $10 - GREAT deal!!! The flight was fun to try once but I wasn't sure what each of the flavors were and many were not my cup of tea. However they were well made and I would gladly try another cocktail next visit. A friend ordered the coconut margarita that seemed popular but not quite her jam either but was $10 on happy hour, so a great deal. Definitely inclined to come back and try other options during happy hour ;) The overall ambiance was great with a giant comfortable cushion and TVs everywhere, for those interested. read more

This is probably my new favorite spot in Renton. Mexicuban absolutely delivered with some of my favorite Latin/Caribbean comfort foods. Empanadas Two types: jalapeño, plantain & cheese, and beef picadillo with pickled red onions, cilantro, and chimichurri. Both were bursting with flavor! Papas Rellenas These potato bites were perfection, and the mango habanero sauce added the perfect sweet-and-spicy kick. Platillo Cubano Pure comfort in a bowl--loved the rich and satisfying flavors. Coffee Flan Flan is my go-to dessert, and their coffee twist made it even better. Churros Filled with cajeta and paired with chocolate, caramel, or dulce de leche--simply amazing! read more

Haven't seen their menus specifically note gluten free. I have NCGS and can tolerate small amounts of cross contamination and am able to eat their bowls without issue. They have a kids chicken/bean/rice option. If you're Celiac or have an allergy…
