Started off by getting quotes from the big names around us--Brothers, Home Depot, Northwest and a few other companies we found on Yelp. It was pretty confusing to decide which brand windows to install. Do we do Simonton, Milgard, Renewal, Andersen, Pella, etc? Did some online research and reading and decided to go with Anlin Windows because they had the best warranty, technology and quality that we were happy with. Went to Anlin's website and looked for their lists of dealers/installers that were close to us. Got a few quotes that were pretty comparable. Then one weekend, I contacted Good News on Yelp. Didn't think anyone would respond on a weekend but was surprised when Lon replied back. We set up a time to meet the next day. On the scheduled day and time, Lon showed up. He was very knowledgeable and we really liked what we heard about the company. I like how the company gives a portion of their proceeds to help people (see their website for more details). We liked Lon so much that we actually signed a contract with him that same day. (Usually we like to wait a few days and compare quotes) A couple days later, Etta at the office (cool name!) called us to schedule a day for installation a few weeks out. On the day of our installation, Brian and Serge showed up on the scheduled time and worked diligently the entire day. At the end of the day, I think they must have polished the glass or something because the windows looked amazing! My husband jokes that we now have 4K windows because they just look so great! We only did a portion of our windows because window replacement can be pricey. We will definitely have Good News HI to install the rest when the time comes. We told our friend about Good News recently and he also had them come out to do his windows. Highly recommend Good News if you're needing new windows! I was trying to decide between a frameless and semi-frameless shower enclosure, and MJ was very kind and very responsive to discuss with me through many messages my options and costs. He looked closely at the pictures I sent and made constructive comments about what the shower enclosure would look like and answered all my questions in a polite and friendly manner, never ignoring me or failing to respond. Ultimately, I chose to go with a semi-frameless enclosure, which MJ does not offer (their specialty is frameless). Had I wanted to go the frameless route, I would have gone with MJ.

I reached out to get a quote for installation only on a replacement Andersen window, thinking it…read moremight be cheaper than installing through Andersen. I Included photos and a copy of the Andersen invoice so they could see exactly what was required. The Glass Specialists said installation would be $385. When the replacement window arrived from Andersen and I emailed The Glass Specialist to schedule installation, they revised the quote to $1,900, claiming a "special tool" was required, even though I had not given them any new information. This was significantly more than Andersen's original installation quote, so I went back to Andersen and just paid for installation through them for around $800 (which I assume they get a cut of). Low and behold, they send The Glass Specialist to do the installation. It took two guys exactly 1 hour from start to finish, with NO SPECIAL TOOLS. Every tool they used, I also own. The work was mediocre. The details that matter on a window like mine were not done carefully. Can't recommend this company.
