Iced tea

Had this restaurant in my "collections" for awhile now. Finally made it on a Tuesday evening. I love how the menu is on the wall visible for everyone. Street parking is available as well as a lot right across from the restaurant. I love the water station available. There is a bench out front to eat as well as plenty of tables indoors & a beautiful setting in the back to eat where it was packed with customers. I will be returning to eat in the back area with the warmer weather upon us. The food was made to order. The burgers were delicious. Two of my nephews had the pork &bacon BBQ burger which I will definitely try next time. Their fry sauce on the table was so delicious. It needs to be sold in bottles to take home!

Thanks to TikTok I was able to indulge in a good ass burger from Meyer's. The atmosphere of this burger place was industrial and laid back. Seems like a place the locals love. I had the single Dutch burger with salt and pepper fries. It was so delicious and fresh. The burger was cooked well and had sweet pickles on it. I was never into sweet pickles but it tasted pretty good on the burger. Am I converting to the sweet pickle crew? No. BUT I would eat it again on a burger from Meyer's. The service was great and very laid back. No rushing or fussing. This was my first time ever eating/visiting Beacon NY and on my next trip I'll definitely be stopping in to eat at Meyer's Olde Dutch.

Sweater Weather Spritz

Def the people's choice by the amount of foot work this spot gets, there's a little wait but worth it. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with a side of regular fries and a cocktail. Everything was very tasty and made quick. The "Sweater Weather Spritz" drink was hitting. With a few places in the same area to eat, glad I stopped in.

We came on a whim while driving around the area antiquing. We were able to snag a couple seats at the bar, as they were quite busy at peak lunchtime on a Sunday. We got a double dutch, crispy chicken sandwich, and fries. To drink, I tried a seasonal gin cocktail. The cocktail was well balanced and refreshing. The burger and chicken sandwiches were tasty and messy due to the large size and generous toppings. Chicken was extra crispy. Fries were seasoned well and even better with fry sauce. Food came out pretty quickly - they were pumping food out of the kitchen. Bartenders were sociable and gave off good vibes.

This is in my unprofessional/professional opinion the best cocktail spot in beacon. It's probably the cheapest in terms of prices, but in terms of quality, taste, and creativity, it beats all the places in beacon.

Fried Chicken Sandwich and Dirty Fries

This place is AWESOME. The vibes are so cool, staff is super friendly, and the food is awesome. One of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had and the dirty fries were incredible (love the pimento cheese). We're not from the area but I'd make a detour to come back here more often!

Maybe it was the 4 hour hike talking but this was an EXTREMELY GOOD burger!!! Every component was spot on - pillowy bun, stretchy cheese, perfectly cooked burger, grilled onion, and for once - not too salty! But honestly, the burger wasn't even the star of the show, the fries SLAPPED!!! My friend said it might've been the best fries she's ever had???? They had a slight crunch and soft interior and were thicker which gave them some depth. Thisnis a must try spot in beacon!!!

I love how they have an outdoor area! Indoors is pretty cool also. Great options for some brews and amazing burger sauce.

Unassuming but delicious. The special eggplant sandwich was terrific. Fries were well cooked and seasoned but someone cut them too small.

I had a special risotto - with savory veggies, crunchy crispy onions, cooked al dente - perfect. * We shared the cheesecake which could be delivered gluten free simply omitting the gram cracker sprinkle - creamy cheesy deliciousness. * Our first time hearing the Jack Grace a gentle blend of country, rock, and bossa nova made us fans. Apple Music does not represent what we heard. LIve was better. We will be back and recommend the food and the music! Nice bar, the tight seating in dining area but does not take away from atmosphere- feels more intimate. Excellent attentive service.

First time being on Main Street in Beacon, and I must say there is a good scene happening here…read more Plenty of options for food but we chose here. TVR is a restaurant/record store/hangout. We went around 5pm, and saw the sign "Seat Yourself & Order At The Bar". Ok... So I asked a bartender for 2 menus, and found a booth. We decided quickly, and I made my way to the bar. Others were ahead of me, so I patiently waited to order: Tripple Smash Burger, Honey Buffalo Salad, Purple Rain (2), Diet Coke. I paid at the bar, served the drinks and waited for our food. The music was 80's MTV Themed {Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Bruuuce, Billy Idol}. Jenga, Horrible Couple and Cards Against Humanity were on the tables to pass the time. Or flip through the many records available for purchase until the food arrives. The salad was large in size and very good. Been a while since I had a burger, and this filled the void. Fries were not that hot, but we ate them anyway. Afterwards, we went downstairs and played some old school arcade games and then headed out. Upon leaving we saw someone was having a birthday party, which was nice to see. I'm sure in the summer this place gets packed. They also have a selection of draught beer (The proper way to spell it). Good choice for food, although it wasn't cheap. Bill w/tip was $100. I think having a server on staff for all hours would be a good decision for TVR to make, in order to TCB !

You can scan the vinyl for sale at the in store record shop, hit the arcade games and chill in the lounge/speakeasy downstairs, play board or card games at a table near the bar, and try the delicious crafted cocktails! I'll go anywhere to look at Bruce Springsteen's face and get buzzed off a martini called Purple Rain. Count me in girrrrl

Generally speaking, the ambience is really nice. All of the staff was very nice and attentive. We did have a newer server who seemed a little bit nervous and less familiar with the menu than you might want, but she was very nice and we have no complaints about the actual service. We split a half bottle of wine, which was a nice option since we didn't want a full bottle. We started with the French baguette, the brussels sprouts, and the whipped ricotta. The brussels sprouts were delicious. They were perfectly cooked and I couldn't stop going back to them. The whipped ricotta was also really interesting and the flavors were amazing. What was really disappointing was the baguette. When I think baguette, I think crusty, hot, out of the oven. The texture of the baguette was weird because it almost had more of a pretzel like exterior that was chewy and not crispy. For mains, we had the crispy chicken sandwich and the cassoulet. The sandwich was kind of a letdown. The flavors were all nice, but there was no textural difference. The bun was a little too big for the sandwich, the avocado, and the other toppings, just all kind of mushed into each other. It was perfectly enjoyable, but just nothing to write home about. The cassoulet was very good. There was a nice depth of flavor and smokiness to the meat. Overall, no complaints. It did seem as though our mains probably sat under a heat lamp. My guess is that because we were still working on the appetizers they did not want us to feel rushed, but with this kind of meal and the price point, they should do a better job pacing, or they should just bring the food out when it comes out. I would rather have the fresh hot food out of the kitchen, than have it sitting under a heat lamp. Overall, the meal was lovely. There were a lot of really high points. There were also some disappointing parts of the meal. Given the price point and the feel of the round house, the few missteps hit a little bit harder. But we would absolutely come back again. It was an overall very nice experience and we enjoyed our ourselves.

First, the bartender was so lovely! I don't drink so I was truly impressed with the number of non-alcoholic beverage options available. I initially ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but then I saw the Shark Attack Mocktail and asked if I could switch to that. Thankfully I caught her right before she started making the first drink! The mocktail was sooo cute and actually really tasty! (See photo I included). I loved the theme of it, especially as summertime is officially here. Now let's talk about the arcade part of this place! The machines take quarters, so use the ones you have in your pocket! No quarters? No problem! They have a machine that will give you them, however it only accepts $1 and $5 bills. No cash? Also not a problem! They have an ATM on site. They really did think of everything, here! Most of the games are old skool, such as Pac-Man, Pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. They also have a claw machine, however it's rigged so don't waste your time or quarters on it (which is exactly what I did, hahah!). Pac-Man is two players and my husband and I had a lot of fun with that one! I also LOVED Dance Dance Revolution (located in the far left corner in the back, behind the bar area) and wish I had found it before I wasted most of our quarters. Most of the games take anywhere from $0.50 to $1 to play, so keep that in mind. The patio is very large and much quieter compared to inside. I loved the atmosphere with all the string lights! They also have two little seating areas that are gated (which kind of look like adult playhouses?) which I think would be an awesome spot to chill with your friends + your dog. No fear of your pup running off! Regarding food: they do have a small menu, however it's mostly snack items like mozzarella sticks, a giant pretzel, things to that nature. What's cool, though, is that they offer vegan chicken nuggets!! Not a lot of bars have these, so it's definitely worth noting. 11/10 recommend that you stop in here while visiting Beacon! We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!

Happy Valley Arcade Bar is a craft beer bar and classic video arcade that opened in Beacon, New…read moreYork in August 2020. It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
