ordered a basic hamburger . it was delivered raw . they made me another one this time it was over cooked . did not want to take the time to go back and have it redone again had somewhere else to be shortly , so I feed it to my dog . on a side note the fries was so salty . my husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. not going back and I do not recommend it unless you have the time to wait . read more

What happened?! I used to love MOD's burgers with everything on it. I went last week and they've changed. The usual added condiments on burgers that made them so very good, so juicy and messy and delicious are no more. Only lettuce, tomato, raw onion and pickles. I could get that anywhere. I'm so sad and disappointed. I asked if they had a new chef or new management. Nope. But the owner also runs The Kitchen Sink and maybe he/she is more focused on the higher scale restaurant? I'd pay more for my burger if it could go back to the way it was originally offered. Gosh, I am so disappointed. I have their t-shirt but now I don't even want to wear it. I can't get enough of the quinoa salad here. The burgers are amazing too, but for some reason, this salad is always on my mind (I add grilled chicken on top). My kids love the chicken tenders - real chicken, always a plus! Oh, and the drinks... Friendly bartenders, good cocktails. Patio in the back. Definitely one of my favorite spots. read more

I'm actually writing this review on behalf of the meat-eaters in my family -- partner, son, and three of his friends, who devoured their burgers like they'd been trekking across the desert for 40 days and 40 nights and this was their first meal back. Name your burger -- they loved it. What I can speak directly to are one of the two vegetarian options and the fries. The veggie burger is pretty mushy and doesn't stay together very well. It's also kind of beet heavy, and I'm one of those awful vegetarians who doesn't like a number of veggies (#namelybeets). There was also an eggplant sandwich, which I haven't tried yet, but plan to -- as my family has made it clear to me that we will be returning! (Trust me, for the fries and whatever that delicious MOD secret sauce is, I'm in). As others have noted, the place is small -- and you order your food and pay for it at the front, and then it's brought to you. I always think it's kind of weird to pay before you've consumed something or tip before you've experienced the service, but other places do this, too, so there you go. Fun, casual. This place had the greasiest bun and burger I've ever been served in a restaurant. The bun was stale, too. The fries we got were no longer than 1/2 - 1 inch leftover bits. It took 45+ for a takeout order that we placed in person. Another person was waiting 50 minutes for their order. We eventually noticed people who ordered after us getting their food. I asked and was told it would take a few more minutes. Fifteen minutes later...still no food. Eventually we got the food and sat outside at their tables. The food is good but not worth the wait. Very good spot. Loved the beer on tap & sandwiches are very tasty. Good atmosphere. Love the girl who works there, or I guess one of them. When we went she was very friendly and attentive. Gave recommendations as well. My only small complaint was the condiment station could use some loving. Maybe because it was a little later in the evening but the 'fry sauce' was empty & a little dirty. Anyway. Overall good spot for a bite and a brew. Just some more cleanliness please :) read more

This place is delicious, I went for the second time on Sunday, I waited in line for a really long time but that was 100% the fault of the customers in front of me and not the restaurant. Solid burgers that pleasantly surprised me. The menu isn't extensive and the descriptions didn't wow me, but when I took my first bite into the NY state burger, it was full of flavor and juicy to the max. Thank you Mayer's for proving me wrong, and reminding me that you don't need a lot of fancy toppings or condiments to elevate a burger. All you need is quality juicy beef. On the flip side, the mushroom burger was a bit underwhelming. The flavor was there but it didn't have much chew and had a mushy texture. If you don't mind mushy burger, then you should get it for the flavor. Otherwise, stick to the other options. The dirty fries were also delicious and their fry sauce is the true winner. Really really solid burger and fries. We were able to get a burger apiece, fries to share and a beer each for $36 dollars, which felt like a pretty great deal. The waitstaff and bar staff were super friendly and the food was excellent. A perfect stop for a late lunch. read more

Unassuming but delicious. The special eggplant sandwich was terrific. Fries were well cooked and seasoned but someone cut them too small.

I just went in to get a hamburger, and I payed for my burger and a fries. And I had a dollar still owed. The woman at the bar gave me the fries for free. It is always nice to see a restaurant that cares about there customers. And frankly it made me feel really good for something as trivial as a $3.50 thing of fries. My wife and I have been here once during their soft opening as they finish their indoor dining area. We are fans of the owner's other restaurant in town (Kitchen Sink- Fried Chicken Monday's!) so we had high expectations and they were met! We sat in the patio area in the back. After placing our order I'd say we had our food within 10 minutes which isn't a bad wait. I had the Chili burger and my wife had the Crispy chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. I had to slow down and really enjoy my food so it'd last a little longer. Definitely looking forward to going back many times over. If you're in the area def give Meyer's a try. The New York State Special on a gluten free bun, French fries, their fry sauce, and then either a Farm Flor cider or one of their awesome cocktails and I'm a happy camper- each time I order it's perfectly done and service is always swift. I ordered the shrooms and nut burger and it was amazing. A little beety for my taste, but that's just personal preference, despite that it was perfect. The fries were nothing special, but the sauce available was very flavorful and interesting. Our service was very fast and super friendly, a big plus in my book. They had a variety of food and drink options as well. I absolutely loved the decor and the vibe of this place, but it's a tad bit small. I know that's not really a thing that can be changed, but if it got any busier it might have gotten unbearable noise wise. That being said, I don't think this is a good place for a large group to dine in (they do have a patio), but for two or three people it would be fine. MOD gets two stars because of the fries and service, honestly. The fries are delicious and cheap. Anyways, my husband and I stopped here on a Thursday evening at the start of our short trip to Beacon. We had learned online that they appeared to have cocktails, which okay, they did, but the cocktail list was like four drinks long. They had a full bar which was... confusing. Because could we just order anything? Without knowing how expensive it would be? We didn't want a margarita or mojito when it was 50 degrees outside so the whole cocktail thing threw us. Side note - it is hard to find a stiff drink in Beacon, apparently. Onto the food - husband got a burger and said it was fine. I got a special, which was general tso's tofu sandwich. It was not good. The tofu was not crisp at all and the whole thing was terribly soggy. At least toast the bun? The flavors were decent but this concept turned reality did not work. The service was super friendly. The interior is small but quaint, and we were able to find a high top table easily, before moving to the bar when spots opened up. The area near the well had a million little fruit flies around it - kinda gross. IDK - maybe I expected more because of the reviews but I left totally underwhelmed and wishing I had something else for dinner. read more

Not the "best" burgers in Beacon. My husband and I were craving burgers the other day and a good friend suggested this place. We expected more topping options and more sides, but we settled with our order. I got the New York State and he ordered the Double Dutch. We were a little disappointed with the temperature of the meat. It was more well-done than medium. The fries were also pretty overdone, and everything was a little over seasoned with black pepper. Fried chicken sandwich was amazing. Chicken breast was huge, moist and coated with a yummy crust, which barely fit on a fluffy bun, topped with pimento cheese and coleslaw. Highly recommend this small but mighty lunch spot for a quick bite. Room on the back patio, with great, friendly service. I have been officially beacon for exactly one year next month and as a native New Yorker I've had a lot of great food. Especially working in Manhattan for 20 years. One of the selling points for us moving up was the food, we didn't want to be someplace where the food was mediocre. Since we moved up we haven't hit Main Street as often as we used to as visitors and this weekend I was on a mission to change that. A few friends of ours had recommended this place hailed as the best burgers in beacon by far, well I would go as far as to say the best burgers in dutches county!! After a long walk down main and a long day of work we decided to stop in. I am so glad we did! I opted for a single Dutch burger, fries and a soda while my boyfriend had a crisp cold very good ipa that quickly made him happy and set the bar high for the rest of the day!! Well not more than 5 minutes after my food had arrived and some stolen bomb ass fries, I regretted not getting the extra patty so we decided on getting the dirty fries also. I think we may have finished the fries in one minute. I want to know how? How is is possible that every fry is equally salted and crispy, it's insane the perfection. And let me just add, never do you get a burger and the lettuce, pickles and bacon stay crispy with every bite. That never happens, well it happened here and it was magical! And everyone was so nice!!! The service was great, the place is clean, the music was awesome, and I love that I can get up and serve myself more water, and condiments as needed. I feel like so often we sit down places and they either never give you more water or they give you so much that it ends up being wasted! Super smart!! There's also an outside which was full of happy faces but we stayed in and enjoyed the tunes. It was such a wonderful experience that I returned the next day with my friend who raves about their shroom burgers. This is a must for everyone for sure!!! read more
