Continuing alphabet series representing 2023, M is for Mezeh. I visited the Mezeh in Owings Mills at least 3 times: December 2022, May 2023, & September 2023. Food is great with their bowls with rice, lettuce, chicken, couscous, & various other ingredients. Staff is nice enough. But my complaints arise in May & more so in September 2023. December 2022: On my way to seeing my parents for Christmas, I popped in a movie at AMC Owings Mills. I bundled up greatly as Friday, December 23, 2022 was when the Polar Vertex came in, temperatures fell throughout the day. That night after my movie before my dinner at Mezeh, the temperature was down to 10 F, but high winds made feel like the -10's. It was less than ideal timing to be going up for Christmas, but I had to do what I had to do. Food was great as it's been at any Mezeh I've been to. May 2023: After a movie at AMC Owings Mills on Sunday, May 21, I popped in again. Their drink machine was broken. I said I wanted a cup of water, but they at least had a back up plan with bottled water for free, which was good. It's still not good though to have the drink machine broken. September 2023: On Friday, September 1, I had an unusual travel to Owings Mills as I had to pick up a parking pass from my condo company's office. I got a Doubleheader of movies at AMC Owings Mills. Between the 2 movies, I got a quick dinner at Mezeh. And after over 3 months later, their drink machine was still broken! That was completely unacceptable. They should've taken care of that quickly. I couldn't believe it. They did give me the bottled water. It was poor business. I do really like Mezeh, but if I had wanted to boycott for that nonsense, I didn't have time as I was pressed for time between my 2 movies. In conclusion, would I return to this Mezeh? Maybe, staff didn't piss me off. It's just rare I'm at Owings Mills. read more

Clean, vibrant, friendly and plenty of optionality and variety in the food and combinations. Aside from Cava, I would say Mezeh is absolutely one of my favorite fast-casual sit-down or grab n'go spots. This location in particular is close to home, reasonably priced and always a treat whenever I find myself in the metro area of downtown Owings Mills. Convenient and appropriately situated local next to a whole slew of stores, restaurants and shopping depots!. read more

Was in the area at Costco and wanted to get some dinner after all the grocery shopping. There weren't a lot of people in the store, maybe one or two ahead of me and as I was getting closer and closer to the service line, I noticed a lot of items were missing. Mind you the time now is 7 PM and they didn't close until nine so they should've been well stocked and everything. Them not having a lot of of my favorites was kind of a turn off. In addition to a lot of items being missing, it seems as though there was a disconnect between pick up orders, and the order is coming from the line which seemed to take a longer than normal time to receive my food. Came by to this location that recently opened in Owings Mills. It was just so so. Came during a Saturday afternoon and there was no line inside. Thought it would be a quick visit, but there were no workers out front at the register or at the ordering area. I had to wait 6 to 8 minutes to be served. Once someone did come out, I was able to order my green and green bowl. I had steak as my protein. They have a variety of toppings you can put on as well. I added pickled cucumbers, pickled onions, red cabbage, and tomato to mine. They have several different dressings that you can pick. I topped my bowl off with the cilantro vinaigrette. I should have gotten a little extra because my bowl was still rather dry. I took my food to go so they included a bag and a pita. I'm glad I checked the bag before I left because they did not put a fork or any napkins in. I also ordered a fountain drink. It was more expensive than I thought it would be at $22. Came here for a quick lunch bowl. It's a bummer I have to come this far to get one, but c'est le vie! There is a free parking garage located within walking distance so if you can't find curbside parking, have no fear. Upon entering we were greeted by pleasant staff. There is plenty of seating available if you choose to eat there. The design of the inside is a modern wood aesthetic and has a comfy, clean feel. They have an assembly line of proteins and toppings to choose from. I opted for the grains bowl with white rice, chicken, corn relish, cucumber and tomatoes, topped with crazy feta dressing (three scoops pleeze!) Make sure they don't forget your flat bread that accompanies the bowl. I got burnt for that a couple of times, but no more! The bowls are satisfying and everything was fresh. The only thing I advise is that no one come close while I'm talking for the next day or so...that garlic takes a hold of me and, boy oh boy, you don't t want to be on the receiving end of that All in all. This place is something. Everyone o come here they never put my extras in the bag and I play for it. The workers act like you are trying to steal freaking pita chips. Cava is much better... Cava has better customer service read more

Great food. Efficient service. Basically it's a Bowl place. Pick a salad, a grain (couscous, rice) and some extras like fried eggplant or humus. Put on some toppings and the bowl is ready. I chose The lamb balls over the shredded lamb. Options included veggie balls, falafel, chicken. Drink options were excellent. I had high hopes for Mezeh, as a few previous reviewers likened it to Cava, which I like a lot. The aesthetic is cozy yet spacious and there is ample seating. I ate here at about 8PM on a Friday, and it was quiet with no wait to order. I got a bowl, and although I loved the plethora of ingredient choices, I realized a bit too late that everything seemed a bit past its prime-- maybe a function of the time of day. The arugula was quite wilted, and the lamb kefta- not sure why I so recklessly ordered lamb at a place I've never been to before- though decently seasoned, was basically cold. The pita was tough and had an odd yeasty odor, and the crunchy chickpeas were possibly stale, as they were so hard that they hurt to chew. The highlights for me were the spicy hummus and the unique tea and fruit ade fountain drinks, both of which were good. If I do give this place another chance, I'll do it earlier in the day when the food is likely to be fresher, and will probably stick to vegetarian options. read more

We gave this a second chance and had a second regrettable meal. I ordered the lamb gyro. I was told that they didn't have any lamb. OK it is coming up on noon and you don't have any lamb. I ordered my next favorite the falafel. They didn't have any falafel. So it's a Mediterranean restaurant and you don't have lamp and you don't have falafel?? You walk in and you aren't welcomed, half the place still has the chairs on the tables. The best part was getting a fountain drink and it didn't work because they didn't turn it on. I will not give this a third chance. My advice is to pick something else. With so many options and competition it is unlikely that they will be in business at the end of 2025. read more

There was a line that was slow in moving but the staff was friendly and helpful. I was getting food to go but I felt like the interior was too dark and a bit cold. I got a bowl with the lamb kefka. The lamb was tasty but quite spicy. I would recommend getting the tzatziki sauce to cool it down. The brown rice however was not thoroughly cooked and was crunchy! It "infiltrated " the rest and made it difficult to eat comfortably. The rest of the dish was good and filling. All in all okay, a bit of a disappointment. read more

Chipotle:Mexican as Mezeh:Mediterranean. That's what I first thought of as we started ordering. They have pre-determined meals but you can start your own bowl, wrap or pita then pick whatever grains, protein (pick one), toppings and sauces. If you're not sure about the sauce, ask the server. If you're putting crunchy toppings like pita croutons, they're best eaten when served. Each order comes with a side of pita, drinks sold separately just like the others. The food is rich in flavors and texture. Might be too overpowering for kids but for us, adults, sooo good! Nice customer service too! Oh, and the interior, ig-able! I love Mediterranean foods. This place is sure to please as the ingredients are fresh and tasty. I loved all the colors of the tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, pickled onions and olives. I chose a wrap to enclose my toppings and choice of meat and sauce. I was not pleased with my fountain drink which tasted more like a Hint water than any of the 5 or so flavors. There were tea leaves in one of the tea based drink. I tried them all and settled for a bland strawberry lemonade. The chicken swharma could have used more seasoning. I left pretty full, though, and I know I'll be back. Just ask for extra harissa to make up for the less than flavorful chicken. read more

I swear the sign for this place has been up forever, was excited to give it a try, even though I'm a HUGE fan of CAVA. Stopped in last week for a late lunch when I drove by and saw there was no line out the door (I tried to go to their grand opening event with free bowls but the lines were much too long!) The gentleman who prepared my order was incredibly kind, answering all my questions, making recommendations, etc.. I ended up with the chicken shawarma bowl for $5, bought a drink and some baklava and my total was something like $10 and change. They do not have soft drinks, you're limited to their juices (assuming they rotate seasonally like CAVA does) and water/ice dispenser. I headed home and ate the bowl -- I wasn't a fan. It was edible, but not as good as my CAVA go-to. I got the strawberry lemonade and it was just okay. The baklava was okay, not my favorite dessert so it's one of those take it or leave it things. I'm not a tomato or pepper eater, and I felt like a lot of Mezeh's salad things had one or the other in them, despite me liking everything else in them, I passed on a lot of them. It felt too complicated...I love CAVA for their very simple ingredients. Worth a try if you're a fan of CAVA to see how you like it in comparison, but my vote is despite Mezeh being closer to home, CAVA will continue to get my business. read more

This Mediterranean grill is really good! I'll be returning to this place over and over when I want a clean fresh meal that I don't feel bad about. This is the type of mail that you would have after a cheat day maybe or on a day where you just want to eat clean. The food was outstanding! The ambiance was a little quiet. They had stools on top of the table when you enter the restaurant which was a little strange and may have led one to believe that they were closed, but a quick pull of the door handle revealed that the restaurant was open for service and able to provide a great meal. Service was prompt, the servers had great recommendations on how to combine different proteins and sides to create a meal that would be outstanding. Both my wife and I agree that this place is good and that we will return. There's another restaurant not far from this one that offers the same type of meals and we struggle to determine which we like most. Since we weren't unable to do so. The food is good but this happens me to every time that I go there, I order a bowl I add the ingredients that I like and I specifically asked them for a large pre-cut pita bread just to give you some context of what that would look like picture a big pocket of bread not large pita bread cut in half so it's two pieces one large pita bread cut in half horizontally to look like a pocket the first time I sent it back they cut it in two pieces. I specifically told them how I wanted it and they gave me back the pita bread cut in two pieces both pieces sliced in half. Now I'm not writing this review over pita bread. It's the fact that I told them specifically both times how I wanted it and they didn't listen. Now, I have to start this review off by letting yall know I'm a Cava LOVER!! When I saw that Mezeh Mediterranean Grill finally opened I had to give it a try. They have specialty bowls and then give you the option to create your own. I decided to create my own (tried to find comps to ingredients I was used to putting in my bowls) and I was not let down!! The shredded lamb was delicious and their spicy feta has a nice kick and great flavors!! Next time I go back I will branch out and try new combinations for sure! The food is so fresh, and very tasty! It's become a weekly lunch for my family! It's a little far from where I live but we'll worth the trip. Always leave happy and full. A nice, healthy selection with mediterranean staples but the food could be hotter as it was a little lukewarm during my last visit.

Food is incredible! It's like cava with different options. Why they got one star is because the one older, not oldest, but older lady there gave me a scoop of the shawarma and it was literally 1 piece of chicken and the rest were peppers. And I feel like she did it on purpose because I watched her deliberately and intentionally avoid the chicken. I asked for a little more chicken and she goes "it's gonna cost extra" and I'm not about to argue with anyone preparing my food so I said "okay that's fine" but it really wasn't fine, and if she wants to be cute and play in my face, I'm gonna play back. Have eaten here twice. Service is okay but not great. Food is pretty good. Nice mix of grain bowls and salad greens with plentiful topping choices. Unfortunately this location doesn't have pizzas/flatbreads as advertised online. We will continue to eat here on occasion. read more
