As we plummeted down the 95 towards our destination, we realized that it was way past dinner time and we needed to make a turn off to grab some grub. I felt that falafels were the food of the moment and hubby found this place for us to try close to the freeway to make sure we kept to our timeline getting to the Carolinas. Parking was easy and accessible, but not enough disabled parking and required payment even though we were only there for a short time to grab food and go. We walked across the street to the restaurant and despite it being a huge space in a somewhat popular place, we were the only people in the entire restaurant other than the people working there. It was sort of a Chipotle like bar of pick what you want meal compilation options. You can pick a bowl, a pita, or a wrap and then you decide on protein, carbs, veggies, and sauces. The ladies behind the counter were more interested in talking to each other than really coaching us through the options, so we made our best way through and ended up with a pita ($7.50) and a wrap ($8.50), both with falafels. The food itself seemed fresh, including all fresh tasting sauces, crunchy and well-seasoned falafel, and pungent pickles with crispy veggies. The restaurant itself seemed pretty clean, other than the bathroom which smelled horrible. Prices were decent, with the food seemingly very fresh, and left us with a product that was exactly what we requested. The flavors however seemed a little strained, perhaps trying too hard or made by somebody who didn't necessarily taste their product before putting it in the steam trays. That said, I would probably return for a fast and healthy portable meal if I were in the area again. read more

I weep because I'm here for a conference, and I wish I had a Mezeh back home. We happened to come across it as a recommendation for healthier dinner option. It is a fast casual place, and there is a bit of sitting room in the restaurant. There is an assembly line that works like Chipotle. You pick pita, flatbread, or bowl, pick a protein, and add on toppings and sauces. I had a pita pocket because I saw someone behind the counter pulling these off the flat top. I picked chicken shawarma as the protein and added salad, grains, veggies, hummus, dip, and sauces. It adds up to a lot more food than you think. There are many interesting choices, like the pickled beets and cilantro hummus. The food was delicious. The chicken was juicy and felt like it was cooked fresh. The veggies added lots of good crunches. There are toppings and sauces that let you add some more heat, if you're into that. (And I'm into that.) This was the only meal during my whole trip that I finished in its entirety. I kept stuffing myself, even down to the last bit of pita, which tasted as good as it looked. I can see that maybe for someone well-versed in Mediterranean, this place might not taste super "authentic". But I've only had it a handful of times, and I believe my sandwich hit all the notes I liked about it. It probably isn't super healthy, but you have the power to make it more healthy. On the flip side, there are a lot of toppings that have no explanation as to what they consist off. So if you're super new to Mediterranean food, it might help to do a little bit of research going in. I will probably never revisit the area again, but if I do or come across a Mezeh elsewhere, I will be going in to experience this again. read more

Mezeh is a-MEZEH-ing!! First off, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Secondly, they offer good quality food that is quick and convenient, while being totally customizable to what you like. I went with a bowl of half grains and half greens, topped with the shawarma chicken (a bit spicy but delicious) and all of the vegetables, dips, sauces, and crispy toppings I wanted... seriously, there's no limit on what you can add! They're located right across from the water and offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view of the big screen in the lawn and the Ferris wheel lit up in the background. read more

Met friends for lunch at National Harbor and decided to try something new. Can't go wrong with Mediterranean. The inside presented a casual atmosphere with plenty of seating. The staff was very patient explaining the menu to me. I decided on a kids bowl which included a meat and 4 sides. I figured go hard or eat fast food. I tried the spicy chicken With brown rice, veggies, tomato salad and corn. The added taki sauce was perfect addition. This serving size was perfect! It filled me up that amazingly I had some to take home for later. I tried to finish it because it was so delicious. The spicy chicken was not too hot nor did it give me heartburn. If the kids eat spicy chips, they can handle the chicken with no hiccups. I give much credit to the security of the restroom ( being on the harbor and walk thru traffic) The security code to access the bathroom was at the bottom of your receipt. That was something I from now on will read my receipt more carefully but enjoyed that my safety was a priority to this business. 8/23/2025 at 9:35 pm Unfortunately this location is hard to get to on the weekends because they close off the street that it's located on and there is little to no parking. My husband went into Mezeh gave the names to both of our orders and the Lady at the cash register with 2 black star stickers on her face refused to give my husband both of our orders. She told him she needed to see his receipt. Normally that is understandable except she did not ask the lady in front of him for a receipt. At the National Harbor location they keep the mobile orders behind the counter and the receipts are not displayed to customers. My husband asked why do I have to show my receipt when the lady in front of me did not. The lady replied to him saying she has seen that lady two times already. My husband told her he has been here before and you never asked for a receipt. I finally went into Mezeh and only showed how much I paid for our order not what we ordered or my name. The gentleman looked at my phone and gave us our order. I asked the female manager on duty why my husband was asked to show a receipt and her excuse was they are having trouble with the system and need to make sure the orders are right. My problem with her statement is that I made sure nobody seen my full receipts so how can you make sure my order is correct if you never looked at my full receipt. I do not appreciate being lied to! I have ordered from this location before around the same time with the young lady with the stickers on her face working there and have never received this type of treatment. read more

Located along the waterfront of National Harbor. Mezeh at first glance resembles a Chipotle with its selection of bowls. Service was slow to start as they only had one counter person, who had to explain to another customer what can go into the bowls. I came here with the goal of getting something like a Gyro, but that was not achieved as they were out of Shredded Lamb. Selected the Chicken Shawarma bowl with brown rice. Had a large variety of items and vegetables you could get with the bowls including hummus and couscous. Shawarma was spicy but the Tzatziki sauce lacked flavor. The mixed vegetable option was also cold, something I didn't expect. Served with a pita-ish bread. The bowl was large enough that I could not finish. Boylan is the fountain soda, and the Cola was good. Mezeh might be a darkhorse for one of the best places to eat in National Harbor on a budget, as you leave VERY full. I love colorful Mediterranean food so I was thrilled when Mezeh National Harbor finally opened; practically in my backyard. The restaurant is well managed and staffed sufficiently. Usually, I stop in for lunch, there's no line, and I find the food fresh and flavorful. I order take out, but there's adequate indoor/outdoor seating if I choose to dine in. My favorite: "Mix bowl" with arugula & one scoop Basmati brown rice as the base, Turkish salad, cilantro hummus, falafel or half chicken kabob / half chicken shawarma, Israeli couscous, caramelized eggplant, and pickled onions. I request tzatziki and harissa sauce on the side. Its soooo savory, vibrant, and delicious! I think I could eat this every week and never get tired of it. I've only encountered 2 server related issues since visiting this location. a. There's one employee who's extremely conservative with her portions. I have to ask for more arugula, a couple onions & peppers when I order chicken kabob, etc. and even still my bowl is half-filled when she makes it. b. Most employees forget to pack or even offer pita bread. Typically, I don't eat it but like to at least have the opportunity since it comes with the bowl. Mezeh is a welcome addition to the National Harbor restaurant line up. I pay via the app which is super convenient all while collecting credits toward a future discount. There is something for everyone in the harbor area and since I try to watch what I eat, I was glad to see such a healthy option during my stay. Mezeh offers bowls, wraps, and pita pockets. The bread is made in house and smells amazing as you walk in. I will be back! Good quality and taste was spot on (yummm!) I arrived right before closing (9:40pm) and the food out still looked very fresh! They weren't out of anything. If you like spicy food the shugsauce should satisfy most cravers. It's almost like burn-your-butthole spicy. This location actually sold beers, and with a local selection. And at just $5/beer. I think it's most likely some of the greatest value drinking on the harbor. So I've forgiven them for the juice thing. And the food is delicious. Impress yo date good. Kind of like the Qdoba of Mediterranean food. It's an assembly line of fantastic and authentic foods from parts across the sea. Your bowl is prepared by a friendly and smiling face, who knows everything about what they are dishing up. The ingredients are fresh and extremely flavorful and once you add a nice bit of curry or other awesome sauce to the top, it sets you on a trip to paradise in your mouth. Had kale, spinach, falafel and a variety of toppings including hummus, eggplant, corn, beets, chickpeas, roasted vegetables, various sauces and even nuts. It is quick service but it was so popular and busy that it actually took awhile when we went for a weekday lunch. They also have a kid bowl option that comes with a cookie for $5 (or a $2.50 by themselves). They also have interesting nonalcoholic drinks. Had a mango cilantro seltzer that was very unique. Mezeh was our first dining experience while in the area for AMU's Graduations. My family and I were walking around the National Harbor before the graduation and were looking for something fresh and healthy to eat before it began. We were happy to find Mezeh because it appeared to be fresh and healthy compared to the surrounding restaurants. This is a fast casual restaurant set up with a bar of fresh ingredients you can pick from to build your rice bowl, greens bowl, or pita wrap. They have ingredients like tabouli salad, chickpeas, roasted eggplant, diced cucumber and tomato, crumbled feta, and more. After you pick your base and ingredients you then pick your main, they have chicken kabob, chicken shwarma, or for a vegetarian option, felafel. Next, you pick you dressing and they classics like tzatziki sauce or harrisa sauce or you can get a balsamic vinaigrette. For mine, I chose the greens bowl with basically all the fresh veggies, chicken shwarma, and balsamic vinaigrette. It is served in a to-go container for convenience and you just might have left over because the portions were quite large. The ingredients did indeed taste fresh, the chicken wasn't overcooked, and overall the dish had great depth of flavor. Where the restaurant for me failed was in the service. The staff was very short and rude to just about everyone that entered. They weren't patient with new customers or helpful. When asked questions they looked inconvenienced... even asking for the bathroom code, which only they had. Their attitude for me really soured our entire experience and I get the feeling it wasn't just a bad day for them. You start your bowl off with a choice of Grains, Greens, Flatbread Wrap or Pita pocket. I had the Chicken Shawarma, which was juicy and just the right amount of spice - that comes from being marinated in a secret house spice and yogurt blend overnight and then grilled to perfection. It was served over a bowl of basmati rice and arugula. I also added tabbouleh, cilantro hummus, steamed beets, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, diced cucumbers and olives. Topped it all off with some tazatziki sauce for my dressing. Hearty, healthy and I did not feel like I needed a nap after. My dining partners raved about the caramelized eggplant, alas, I am allergic to eggplant and could not try it. I did try their steak Shawarma, and that was delicious! Undertones of cinnamon and cardamon. The location cannot be beat, just outside the movie screen area, with indoor and outdoor seating. The night I was there the sunset was AMAZING! read more

We almost went somewhere else, but when we got there it was a little fancier than we really wanted to bring 2 kids into and a bit more than we were wanting to spend. I ran into this place for lunch after wanting to try them for some time. I came out pleased, filled and wanting more. When I first arrived around 2:30 pm​, there were no other customers in the establishment, so I had time to ask questions and decide on what I wanted. The employee was helpful, and I got a lot of yummy toppings in my bowl with her help. I didn't get a drink because I already had water, but they have many bottled beverages and Boylan Bottling fountain drink options. I sat down to eat my food, and it was delicious. Each of the flavors blended so well together, and it's apparent that the ingredients are fresh. The tables were clean and comfy​, and that is another plus!
