Chilaquiles de Pollo y Carne Asada en salsa verde
    Kimberly L.

Such an awesome spot! The staff was extremely friendly and the service was so fast. We came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, it wasn't so packed. Our server made great recommendations. We decided to order chilaquiles with salsa verde. My boyfriend order it with carne asada and I got it with chicken. Both were so good. I'm not that great with spicy food but it was still flavorful and tolerable. The ambiance was very family oriented and cozy. We are definitely coming back here.

Food is good and service too. However, the place is dirty. I feel that if they took care better of their place it would be much better the experience.

Fried steak sandwich ... It was very tasty!

Ate there earlier today while working in the area based on all you yelpers & your reviews I never normally order something like this but got the fried steak sandwich ( not sure what it's called). It was good . Considering the fact that the steak is thin... It was pretty amazing that it wasn't over cooked . It was yummy. I think next time I'm in the area I'll order something they're better known for such as their tacos etc. Definitely a dive & authentic which I like. (You know.... Diners, dives & drive thru s ) Lots of locals & construction worker types) Waiter didn't speak English all that well. Worth anther visit!

Great food. Would be happy to return despite the mediocre service. As this was my trip to Gabino's Diner, I was unsure what to expect. Although the outside might be a bit off putting (recommend parking in the strip mall parking lot located next door), the inside was popping! My party had a bit of trouble understanding the menu choices, but we ended up ordering the enchilada de pollo and three tacos de carnitas. Also, I'm still lost on what the mysterious red sauce was.

This is not a fancy dining place. It's 'mom and pop'. But the food is great. Large portions.

That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected.

The food was great and our son loved his side order of scrambled eggs. I was able to give him some tomatoes and avocado off my plate as well to round out his meal. We got you a specialty coffees, which are both really good. I got the Avocado BLT eggs Benedict and my partner got the corned beef hash eggs Benedict. Both were very good and large. We ordered the traditional French toast but what came to the table was French toast bites. They weren't bad.. I just think I was in the mood for the traditional French Toast. The waitress offered to take it back and get us the correct order but I said it was fine. We ended up not eating it with the exception of the piece we tired and the waitress took it off our bill without a fuss at all. It's your typical breakfast/brunch vibe, pretty busy but honestly there were a ton of young families and couples with babies! Made us feel like we chose the right place to come. It can be hard sometimes getting out as new parents with a baby. We agreed that we will definitely be back. We went to IHOP 2 weeks prior and spent the same amount of money and my son had a reaction to the eggs he ate. Value was 10/10

They don't take reservations. After about 10 minutes my friend and I plus 3 teens (my kids and a friend) were starving and Schnitzels was loud and crowded. We headed a few doors down to Sweet Mama's. Seated immediately. My friend and I shared the steak with penne dinner special and a Cobb salad with grilled chicken. My daughter ordered penne with butter off the kids menu. My son got a turkey burger and his friend got a grilled chicken sandwich on a hero instead of a wrap. Now the good -- portions were huge! My son could barely fit his burger in his mouth and it also had a half avocado on it. They didn't skimp. Steak with penne was delicious and so was the Cobb salad. We all shared off each other's plates because everything looked so amazing. Now the bad. My daughter's pasta was elbows, not penne as indicated on the menu. Not a catastrophe but she was looking forward to penne. Then - my son's friend put some ketchup on his plate for his fries. It was ,.. not red but brown. The bottle had an 8/25 expiration. We are in April 2026. We told the server and she said it's because it's the "simply ketchup" with no artificial dyes. She offered him ketchup packets "with fake dyes" but by that point he lost his appetite for fries. We grabbed ketchup from another table, same brand, Heinz Simply. You can see the difference in color. We showed the server and she acted annoyed. I told her we didn't want anyone getting sick on that ketchup and pointed out the expiration date. She rolled her eyes and said "oh I'll just throw it away." She kind of had an attitude and didn't even apologize. So that's why 4 stars. We'd go back but request not to have that server. The food is fantastic but watch your ketchup! If someone put it on a burger it would have been ruined.

Not terrible, but also not memorable…read more Sweet Mama's is a hybrid concept tucked away in the adorable Stony Brook Village. On one end, ice cream. In the middle, restaurant, and towards the back, a bar. Surprisingly at 11am, for a table of four, we waited about 10 mins for a table. We ordered a variety of things, from soup, to bennys and a mimosa flight. The mimosa flight was very cute but mine ended up tasting just like white wine. The real disappointment imo was the Belgian Waffle. Now I know, part of this is my fault, for expecting more than what the description laid out. But for $12 I got one crispy and tender waffle with powdered sugar and that was it. No side of fruit, no home fries, nothing. Everyone else enjoyed their food, which I was happy about! And service was wonderful. But for $12 for one waffle, this place may be a biiiiiiit overpriced for my liking.
