Wanted dessert since we weren't full from dinner. Stopped by for takeout. Friendly service. Took us a while to checkout the dessert menu. Picked the mint Chocolate chip with oreo and gummy bears sundae and peanut butter fribble. Waited a while and finally got the treats. It was satisfying though a bit too much for me. I've been going to this Friendly's for the last 15 years. The staff is very friendly. The service is excellent. I usually order Jim Dandy and they always fill it to the brim. I usually order out/pick up. The place is clean and I have never been there that I was not, treated with expediency and kindness. It's my favorite place. We haven't been to Friendly's in years, but tonight, we went back. My husband had the Philly cheese steak supermelt, which he enjoyed very much. I had the Fishamijig supermelt and it was yummy! My sister and I are regulars at this location. The food is always excellent, done to perfection and beautifully presented. This was one of the first Long Island Friendly's locations to be remodeled six years ago and it's a delight. The service is tops, fitst-rate in every way and always, well, friendly. It's always clean and pleasant, even after the most raucous birthday parties; it doesn't take the staff long to put it all right again. While I'm sorry that breakfast isn't served at the Coram location, it's also understandable; as great as Friendly's breakfast is, this location is more the lunch/dinner/late appetizer & dessert clientele. I can't really see them drawing enough customers to make it feasible. Everything else (with those incredible ice cream flavors and treats) has made this location a definite destination for many. read more

Short version: Friendly's is dated, sticky, and deep fried. I still don't get why "family friendly" always has to equal dirty utensils and plates along with every single surface being smudged and so sticky. I get that children are messy little eaters and that this establishment is aimed at families but why can't the staff properly clean up each table or booth between parties? McDonalds has this place beat in my opinion. The food is cheaper, and they actually clean and disinfect tables. Our meal tonight was just as described above. Everything you touch makes you want to wash your hands instantly! After we finished our meal we noticed that the drop ceiling directly above us was missing a panel so we were exposed to the unfiltered, dusty, dirty air blowing over us and our food. And maybe that's due to the understaffing issue they seem to be having but I don't feel like that's any excuse for not being acknowledged when you walk into any restaurant. One of the servers looked at me standing by the hostess counter TWICE and still did nothing to indicate that they would help me. I waited for ten minutes for SOMEONE to say SOMETHING to me.
