Mezza Luna Pizzeria has arrived and I couldn't be happier about it. They have an excellent menu that includes traditional pizzas as well as vegetarian options. My wife and I really love their Luna lunch selection of a slice and a salad. Very filling and delicious. They also have select beers on tap. Pizza and beer are like peas and carrots after all. ;-) Our first time in today proved to be everything we have come to expect from eating at the other two locations. Great service and great food. I've been eating this pizza for about a year now and I will order this pizza over dominoes delivery any day. It is made with whole fresh ingredients, real garlic and olive oil. They have friendly service and a clean place. They sell beer and wine too. I've got to give them props for acquiescing to my request to put my pizza in foil instead of a box so that I could put it in my bike basket to take it home. Awesome! read more

Treated my mom out to the Springfield location. $30 for a pizza. Asked for no parm sprinkle on the pie. Pizza was coated with parm. Guest recovery: just garlic knots. Waited over 45mins for a new pie to be made that they were apparently not even making. Talked to the very unsympathetic host who gave me attitude the whole time as though this issue was my fault. I clearly asked for no parm, it was the only modifier I asked for. Incompetent hostess with a crap attitude treated me as though I was the one being irrational. I spent over an hour in a restaurant waiting for food that I never got a chance to eat. And I was being irrational. Money was refunded. My mom enjoyed the pizza-looked pretty, at least, and the garlic knots were decent. Snarky service not worth the price/experience. read more

Same as my other reviews of Mezza Luna. This brand has the best NY style pizza in town. Of course in a Eugene based establishment you always get served by some dude with dreads named Rainbow -- but doesn't smell like a rainbow. 3-4 dollars per slice with about 4 pizza's in the window that they will take back to the oven to crisp up. Salads are pretty tasty and healthy as well, just don't bite down on the pitted olives like I have done on more than one occasion. Luckily their are a plethora of dentists in the area if need be. This location has a lot less foot traffic than the other 2 in town so the pizza turnover is not quite as great with the pies. read more

Everytime I go here it's great tasting pizza I love it so damn much. Never to busy either slices are big and crust is not to thick.

Cheap and yummy! Huge slices for $3.50, huge sharable fresh salads for $6.50. Can't beat the price or quality for a quick dinner.

After hearing great things about Mezza Luna, I was really excited to give it a try. My parents were visiting town for my graduation, and since we're all big fans of pizza, I decided this would be a good time to try it. It was a bit of a jaunt from where I lived and where my parents were staying, so we made sure to leave ample time between when we left and when Mezza Luna closed for the night. We arrived about 25 minutes prior to closing. The place itself was different than I had anticipated. It looked more like a cheap carry out place than a restaurant serving $15-minimum pizzas. The decor was cold, boring, and not very inviting. It seems like a restaurant having an identity crisis: it doesn't know whether to be a cheap by-the-slice joint or a high-end pizza restaurant. As soon as we arrived, we told the lady at the counter we wanted to get a pizza to go, and she informed us, in a rather unfriendly tone, the oven was already off for the night. What? I could understand if we had come in, say, five or ten minutes prior to closing, but we're talking almost half an hour prior to closing. Don't advertise your hours as being open until 9 if you really mean 8:30 (and who closes a pizza joint at 9 on a Friday, anyways?). I myself have worked in food service, and this simply isn't acceptable customer service. After protesting a bit and telling them we had just driven 20 minutes to get this pizza, the cooks agreed to make one for us. We ordered The Boot, which is Italian sausage, gorgonzola cheese, roasted red and yellow peppers, onions, and roasted garlic with mozzarella and tomato sauce. This was some fabulous pizza. The onions provided a sweetness which contrasted nicely with the salty gorgonzola cheese. There was plenty of roasted garlic too, which provided an additional mild sweetness and garlicky goodness. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy. You could tell the ingredients were all very high quality. Had the service been friendly, and had they been willing to make our pizza from the beginning, this would have been a five star rating. The pizza was truly delicious. I do value customer service, though, and Mezza Luna just couldn't deliver. Therefore, they're more deserving of the three stars I'm giving them. read more

Alright, so this Mezza Luna location definitely experience some growing pains (see my prior review). But I have been there twice since I wrote my first review. Once on the request of the manager, who kindly gave us a credit for a pizza in an effort to prove that they could do better (and they did) and a second time to make sure that my first visit back wasn't an anomaly. Both times the service was friendly and quick. Both times the pizza was excellent. I, admittedly, have not gotten a pizza with garlic on it because of the bad experience last time. But we did get a pizza with potatoes and they were fully cooked - thank goodness. I was very hesitant to try this location again, but I'm glad that I did. The Springfield Mezza Luna has definitely redeemed itself from my prior experience. Lets hope that it continues! read more

Ok... Let me just say this if you haven't tried this then your missing out! Not only is the service excellent but how they treat their customers is outstanding! I get schmo with gluten free crust which is the bomb. The toppings all come together and work. Gluten free crust taste great too, not too dry or bland in taste. They have local beer on tap and it's right downtown. I also have to give a shout out to the owners.. also the shorter owner "you know who you are!" Lol... he makes you feel welcome and always strikes up a pleasant conversation with you. He always has a smile on his face and just good people! I love this place! They serve New York style pizza by the box or just the slice. They always have 5 different by the slice options, a couple of which are vegetarian. Tasty pizza but its very thin and the take home purchases is never warm. Essentially you have to reheat it every time.

My son and I stopped for dinner. We ordered pepperoni slices and salad. The slices were quite big. Equivalent to 2 slices for my preference. The food was delicious. The only thing that needs improvement is service. We were served our sales and was only given tongs and I had to ask for silverware and was only given one fork. Overall good fare, though lacking a bit of salt. We got a medium fruit and but salad with balsamic dressing. The medium was more than enough for the two of us. It was topped with Gorgonzola crumbles, cranberries and candied walnuts. On its own, it was a little acidic but once we added some salt and pepper, it really balanced the dish. We got a large Marge pizza with extra sausage. It was served fresh out of the oven, piping hot. It was refreshing and light with fresh garlic, tomatoes and basil. The crust was thin and crispy, absolutely delicious. It's good folding pizza, if that's what you like. Like the salad, it benefitted from some extra salt and some crushed red pepper flakes. We got a large pizza which was 8 slices and way more than enough for the two of us, had plenty of leftovers. Parking is super easy and the employees were super friendly. Best pizza joint in Springfield! Has a mellow/ hipster atmosphere to it, which is way less hectic than your average loud pizza joints. They always have something new, so variety is never a problem. You can get pizza by the slice, which is great if you are just grabbing a bite to eat, or they offer whole pizzas as well. The pizzas are on the thin crust side, which honestly is my favorite and man are they filling and saturated with flavor in every bite, REAL actual fresh flavor! They also got beer on tap and other alcoholic goodies, and some sweet life brownies or cookies to hit that sweet spot. It is truly a pizza haven. read more

Pro tip: you can't buy a bottle and bring it home. They open it for you and you have to drink it there. I didn't know that until after I paid and she opened my drink. Not too much of a setback since I was still waiting for my pizza, but it's nice to know beforehand. They told me when I ordered over the phone it'd be about 25mins and it was, so no extended wait. Service was good. Most importantly, the pizza is excellent. I love the combinations and the crust is so delicious! Flavorful and crispy. Worth a try if you haven't yet! read more

I'm so happy to have a good pizza-by-the-slice place within walking distance from my house. I love their crust. It's crunchy and chewy without being overly dry. I like a thin crust that doesn't get soggy. They have a small but good selection of beer on tap. Their salads are good too. The large size salad is big enough for two people. The pizzas they offer by the slice are huge with a good variety of veggie and meat options including the obligatory pepperoni and cheese slices. The counter service is good, friendly and prompt, although we did have a little shrug moment on our first visit. My husband is allergic to pine nuts. The nice person at the counter didn't know what nuts were in the pesto, but that's not a big issue. The price is right on for the lack of table service (bus your own) and the quality/quantity of the slices. This is a fantastic addition to downtown Springfield. read more

Very good and reasonably priced. You can order by the slice or get a whole pizza. The single order slices are huge! We added on a medium Caesar salad which was big enough for my wife and I to share and then some. The kids really liked the pizza as well. The calzones are definitely big enough to split with another person unless you are REALLY hungry. The place itself was very clean and the staff was awesome, very friendly place. It's bigger than what the pictures posted make it out to be. We stopped here on our way from Washington to California. It was definitely worth the short drive from the freeway. read more

Ugh. I remember eating at a Mezza Luna in 2003 in Portland, OR when I lived there for 8 months. I remember enjoying the food then, but now, YUCK! Maybe as a chain restaurant, it has just gone downhill. I went to this Springfield location the other day to grab a Caesar salad to take to a workshop. What a mistake! When I got to sit down and open the box the container was stuffed w/ romaine lettuce and there were two slender toasted crisp bread strips across the top (that is supposed to cover the croutons that should be in a Caesar salad) and a wedge of lemon. The lettuce was covered in some coating that reeked of garlic. The flavor was like garlic flavored canola oil w/ something that resembled Parmesan cheese but must have been Kraft (it had no flavor). The taste of the gunk and the weird flavor of the lettuce (must not be organic and probably some bagged SYSCO gmo lettuce trucked up from CA) made me stop after 4 bites. Just awful. I ended up taking my 98 percent full box and putting it out on a bench for someone who might be desperately hungry. I was not. read more

It was average, I do have to say all the ingredients looked fresh and local, maybe the choice of pizza I got was just not the best plus I am not a fan of thin pizza at all, its the kind of pizza you want to fold in half ( also why I dislike sizzle pie) I also ordered a medium Cesar salad which was HUGE and had amazing homemade crutons, but wish I would have ordered extra dressing before leaving it was a little light and I like more Cesar. Wowser I am impressed with this place. Great prices and EXCELLENT pizza, one of my top favs. The vegan pizza was surprisingly better than the other ones! Their salads are fantastic, these people truly have an appreciation for good food and look at that... it doesn't have to cost 45 dollars, lol (viz., coburg pizza). My only complaint doesn't drop the rating at all: The Donkey Kong machine doesn't have the right controller so it's basically (and almost literally) pointless to play. read more

My son & I finally tried their pizza today after walking by many times. I love that they sell pizza by the slice & have many options that change daily. The pizza slice was large & tasty. Very good pizza! We also we're able to add a salad for $3.50 which was a big mistake the dressing was awful!! I tried the ranch, blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette all were nasty!! I finally ate the salad dry. Next time I'll skip the salad and order a second slice of pizza. read more
