I attended my Springfield High School 35th reunion on August 22,2025. It was very warm outside underneath, but we had the reunion under a cover next to the Willamette River. We went to RR on March 29th at about 7PM and there was a sign that said they were closed for the night but there were lots of people and the actual listed closing time was later and the door was open with people going in and out like it is when the business is open. We went in and asked about ordering pizza and they said "We are out of dough." WHAT? They are a (good) pizza business that we've enjoyed many times. How can you be out of dough? That's crazy. Very good salad bar. Lots of pizzas to choose from on the menu & at the salad bar. Carousel runs about every 20 minutes & it's free. Games were a bit pricey, one in particular, but they kept the grandkids occupied for a little while. The outside area is wonderful. Decent pizza with a nice cracker crust. Very good salad bar as well - it good to see them coming back post-pandemic. I know a lot of people sad they disappeared. Positives: * The place is huge! Large indoor and outdoor seating areas, can accommodate big groups easily. * Beautiful view of the river * Great for families with young kids (or old). There's a small arcade area and a free carousel inside. Outside has a large grassy area for kids to run around on and the entire patio is securely gated. * Ordering - You order at the counter for your pizza, grab a number and pizza will be brought out to you. There is a separate counter for ordering drinks (including alcohol). I personally like this type of service. Something as easy as pizza doesn't always need a full table service. Not-so-positives: * It's Huge! Lol, I know I listed this as a positive as well, but it also can be a bit overwhelming when the place is packed. We came in on summer Saturday evening so it felt like half of the city was there having birthday parties and whatever. * Pizza - Our pizza was actually quite tasty at the restaurant but failed to pass the "eating cold pizza the next day" test for my husband. He swears this is how you can tell if pizza is good or not so good, if it tastes good out of the box next day. It also seemed a bit expensive for what it was and the crust is very thin (which I don't mind but might be a deal breaker for some). There are other pizza places I would choose over RR. read more

I just love this place and the team of positive, helpful employees that are always on top of their game. We went there for a work function after visiting Camp Putt, just across the parking g lot. We had a group of about 25 adults and 6 children. Prior to the event, I submitted our order, with some food allergies / intolerances. I was contacted to verify some details on a food allergy and guided to what the best option would be for the protection of the person suffering from the allergy. When we arrived, the manager on shift, Charlanna introduced herself, and confirmed our expectations on the timing of the food, while guiding me through the process of using tickets to track drinks and salads. Before I even finished my salad, the pizzas were coming out of the kitchen and everyone was digging in. The pizzas that were ordered to accommodate the allergies / intolerances were just as expected and were delicious! A 12 year old boy with a gluten allergy was able to eat all the pizza he wanted and loved every bite! We enjoyed our own private area, plenty of pizza, salad, Jo-Jo's, and drinks. When I was ready to close out the bill, Charlanna took care of calculating everything and the process was seamless. It feels great to be able to help support a locally owned business and to see the pride that is taken by the employees! I visited here recently for the lunch buffet. The buffet itself is great, and it's only $9.99 for pizza, salad, and a drink. What I had a problem with was the options for kids at this time. The price for kids for this is either paying the full adult price of $9.99 for the buffet, or getting the kid meal which is pizza and a drink for $7.25 or salad only 1 trip through for $6.50. Considering my child is only 1 and will likely only eat half a slice of pizza I was very surprised that they would not let me buy pizza by the slice. My family and I frequent their competitor for a similar buffet and were considering coming to roaring rapids more frequently, but it's not worth it if we are paying adult prices for babies/kids. It would be really nice if they started offering pizza by the slice option during buffet hours OR charge buffet price depending on the childs age like most buffets do. read more

Prearranged for a large party recently . So disappointing. Food was ok. Counter people were rushed and abrupt speaking when we were getting drinks. The pizza was cold , the salad bar was a MESS. We asked a server walking by if we could have it refreshed as we were all waiting to serve ourselves and the greens bowl was completely empty. And we also felt we were in the way standing there waiting for so long. We decided to stay up there tho because it was a hassle going back and forth checking. We had done it three times before asking the server. She didn't acknowledge but came several minutes later to restock and she seemed angry to be doing that job. I always forget about this Gem of a place!! It's so great for outdoor seating and there is a vibe to this place that I love as it's been around and is sooo different from other pizza places! We love this festive pizza restaurant, and the view from the outdoor patio is absolutely mesmerizing. The only reason I am offering a four-star rating is that the prices are quite high, and this has prevented us from experimenting with the menu and sampling a number of different dishes. We were wondering if sometime in the future it might be possible to find single slices available -- at least for 3 or 4 different styles of pizza including a few non-beef varieties, such as the BBQ Chicken pizza -- so that guests will be able to sample several different recipes? This place is closer to two stars than three but I was generous because the place is huge, clean...very clean, actually....... well lit, not noisy and they have a patio out back by a stream that is very pleasant. So I'd give them four starts for ambiance. As to the food, not so much. $20 including the tip (they didn't have table service when I was there) for a small fully loaded pizza. And when I say small, I mean TINY! They claim it's 8 slices. Technically, perhaps. But the entire pizza equals three possibly four slices of anyone else's medium pizza. I am from the east coast so I know a really good pizza when I taste one and the one I had today didn't qualify. Pretty mediocre especially considering the sky-high price. My wife and I recently spent an evening at Roaring Rapids Pizza Company for a large company function. It was an excellent experience, so here are some things you will want to know, whether you are going there with your family or are considering it as a place to reserve for a group function. The pizza is delicious (old style, crispy thin crust - note: my wife is extremely MSG sensitive and had no issues with slices of the BBQ pizza, the vegetable pizza, and the cheese pizza), the salad bar has many selections, and the fresh baked cookies were of a wonderful homemade recipe. Lots of beer on tap, and of course all of the fountain soda drinks. Everything is clean and very well maintained, and the service is cheerful and prompt. The place is huge, with four areas for large and small groups, and they have plenty of parking. Our room contained a huge fireplace. There is a very large, brightly lit area with game machines for the kids, including a genuine, amazing horse carousel. The kids area is separated from the dining areas by a wall with large glass windows. The manager/owner was very present, and he frequently checked on our group's pizza supply situation and engaged with customers. Roaring Rapids Pizza also has a large, beautifully landscaped and well maintained miniature golf course. The environment is perfect for small families and large groups. It was very busy on the Tuesday night that we were there, which tells you about the restaurant's popularity. (I know of people who come all the way from Corvallis for their family gatherings.) Tonight was dinner out with my two adult kids. I chose this restaurant based on recommendations. Nothing about this place disappointed. Truly a delightful family restaurant. However, they were serving people of all ages. I saw tables with seniors, parties for kids, and nobody was crowded or disrupted. The atmosphere was delightful. It felt warm and welcoming and a massive square footage establishment. I would say that is not an easy thing to do and they pulled it off perfectly. I don't know if it was the manager or the owner who was chatting with guests and giving the history of the carousel and the restaurant to interested customers. It felt very welcoming. An indoor carousel just like you would find at an amusement park, the Amazing River flowing just outside the patio. Indoor eating with multiple areas for parties and groups. a quaint little bar and incredibly friendly service. It felt like you were visiting a family and they were enjoying serving you. The restaurant was clean and the workers were constantly cleaning. And the food! We had perfect pizzas and we decided to try two different ones. I also tried the salad bar and found it to be overflowing with choices. And for all of you, ranch dressing fans, they have the good ranch! I have seen some people say they felt the prices were steep however, for the ambience, the experience and the quality of the furnishings, the game room, and a carousel, I certainly didn't mind spending a few extra dollars. How can any self-respecting child-free adults possibly come here for food? Atmosphere is like a haunted carnival that somehow serves shitty pizza. Super dry crust, mystery cheese... just plain nasty food. Roughly half the salad bar are canned vegetables. And bacon bits somehow cover EVERYTHING. Despite this, kids do seem to love this place. And they do serve beer and wine -- which makes it tolerable. Have super low expectations for the food, bring antibacterial wipes (it's a kids place... ) and drink an extra glass of wine. read more

I hate giving low star reviews. I just do, this place might look nice, and cater to Birthday party's, I would save your money, and go elsewhere. It is not worth being ripped off by paying such a high price for a medium pizza that tastes horrible! $37 for a medium pizza, and two regular soda's. We were at a Birthday party, so I also tried the BBQ chicken pizza. It looked amazing. Trust me. It is not! It was one of the worst ones I have tried. I really do not understand why they charge so much for pizza that tastes so bad. Honestly I would have rather gone to Domino's. I hate Domino's!
