Burnt pizza from slicepizzeria. Usually amazing, but not this time.
    Richard P.

Slice is usually amazing, but this time it has a burnt after taste. I have ordered multiple times and never a complaint. Please do better next time.

Buy pizza by the slice 100 recommend it. First time coming this spot. Tried their classic pepperoni pizza and it was very flavorful, and tasted freshly made. It's a big slice for $5. The service was fast, and it was pretty empty when i went around 2 pm on a Wednesday! Not crowded or loud.

Love this place! Friendly vibe, full bar, local beers and great pie!! They treated me like family even though I live as far away as possible!!

Got that 18" Fungus Amongus that was so worth!
    Chris M.

We ordered an 18" Fungus Amongus for pick up. Side note, if you order through their website directly, you save a couple dollars vs. ordering through Yelp. It was ready on time (took about 30 minutes from placing my order online to pick up). The pizza survived a brisk 10 minute walk and was still warm enough that we didn't feel the need to heat it up. Mushroom fans, the Fungus Amongus is a MUST. The flavor of the mushrooms came through nice and strong, and it coupled well with the garlic and olive oil. The spinach and feta (a classic pairing) also complemented the pizza really well. The spinach was crispy, which juxtaposed with the softer textures of the mushrooms and cheese. Ultimately, their flavors were on point. I only gave 4 stars because there were a couple of huge bubbles on our pizza that pushed all the toppings off (maybe that couldn't have been helped) and I've got a personal preference for a slightly thicker crust. We put down the whole pizza between two of us, and I was still a little hungry after - disappointing after crushing a $30 pizza. They sell pizza by the slice in their restaurant for $4-5 (I can't remember if I could have ordered by the slice for pick up), but if you're a big eater like me, know that a single slice won't be enough.

Super watered down overpriced NEAT scotch. Never buy drinks at slice.
    Ravi B.

Drunk bartender serving a guests pet dog from restaurant dishes, poured a 6oz double for $35, but this glenlivet scotch was watered down so much it had no bite and no flavor (I watched her pour neat right from the bottle) Super gross. Skip on drinks they rob you top dollar for colored water, they lost my pizza business too. Not sure what they watered it down with but super gross.

Brussel hustle? It's more like sweaty onions and salt. 12in Brussel Hussle so many supposed to be carmalized hmmm
    Kellie G.

Brussel hustle? Nope more like wet onion and a LOT of salt, so be careful ordering the carmalized onions because they come pre salted yuck. Service? Well, Mia knows what's up. Ambiance? Ask the employees. I've loved slice since they got here after PRI but have become complacent with their product any more its hit or miss.

DRINKS: 7/10 SERVICE: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 What we ordered: Lemon & Ginger Mule Key Lime Rum Cocktail DRINKS: 7/10 The Lemon & Ginger Mule was fascinating and part of their Shrub specialty menu, which is a sweet-and-tart drinking vinegar made from fruit, sugar, and vinegar, created to preserve fruit. Definitely an acquired taste, but I loved the creativity behind it. The Key Lime Rum Cocktail was bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, with a tropical twist that was smooth and flavorful without being overly sweet. SERVICE: 10/10 The bartender serving us was friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated how they explained some of the more unique cocktails and helped me pick something adventurous. She was a vibe for sure and seemed to be vibing with the other customers as well. AMBIANCE: 10/10 Crow & Cart nails that "handcrafted neighborhood bar" feel. The space is full of character with warm wood tones, plants, and personal touches everywhere. The vibe is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax. There is also outdoor seating. If you're in Eugene and want something beyond your average cocktail bar, you should give this place a try.

Some of the other reviews were negative on their food...but our food was fantastic. The burgers were moist and not greasy. The waffle cut fries were hot and crispy. The decor is a D&D dive bar scene....so many things to look at as you wait for bingo to start. They just changed the rules and you do have to pay $1.00 per person to play bingo...but where else can you get that type of entertainment for a dollar. We can't wait to return.

At one point, the bartender disappeared for approximately fifteen minutes, leaving several patrons waiting without acknowledgment. When she finally returned, she casually mentioned she had been on a personal phone call. A second woman then stepped behind the bar, immediately clarifying that she was not, in fact, a bartender. When I expressed concern about the extended absence and lack of service--something I would consider standard feedback in any hospitality setting--I was abruptly told I was "speaking badly" about the staff and was asked to leave. This kind of defensiveness and disregard for patrons is deeply unprofessional, especially for an establishment that positions itself within a community where communication, accountability, and mutual respect are paramount. Eugene has a growing nightlife and alternative culture scene, and many people--locals and visitors alike--expect spaces that uphold those values. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend The Serpent & the Sparrow. There are other venues in town that offer a far more welcoming environment, competent service, and a genuine respect for their patrons.

He sorted me out pretty quickly and then I faced my next wonderful obstacle: an amazing concession stand with a very understanding vendor who had two different kinds of kombucha on tap, chilled brut rosé, several beers ranging from a Pilsner to a stout, several kinds of wine including Pinot noir and Cabernet Savignon, popcorn with real butter, frozen junior mints, whoppers, peanut M&Ms... everything good was there. Give yourself a few extra minutes to decide what you want to nosh on -- just don't pass up such a great selection. The movie was showing in theater B which was across the courtyard, really lovely few steps between buildings. The chairs were very comfortable inside theater to B and the drink holders wide enough to hold the mason jar that my kombucha came in. Yep a real glass -- none of the paper or plastic stuff -- love that. But maybe the best part was the audience who was clearly queuing to many of the lines and laughed at all the right places. The vibe was a lot like a familiarity that you encounter when you watch the Rocky horror picture show: lots of audience knowledge and appreciation expressed throughout the film, which made the movie even better. The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole. We will book our family members for a stay here at the hotel. I'm looking forward to trying more of their specialty drinks.
