After a water leak, I was referred to MG Residential by Green Water & Fire. Mishka came over and walked me through what needed to be done. He even took a 3D walkthrough render video for the insurance company (I wish I would've cleaned up first but...). I felt really good about the recommendation because my ceiling was soundproofed and Mishka was super knowledgeable about reinstalling it the correct way. And then...we waited. The insurance company was moving like molasses, Mishka was very helpful in telling me how I could put some fire under them to get it done. During the wait, I started a DIY bedroom renovation, where I was soundproofing one wall. Mishka actually came over and helped me come up with a game plan for what I needed for that project as well. During that reno, I noticed my ceiling was super wavy, Mishka said his guys could handle that for me. So they (Jean and Carlos, I believe) came to demo and re-drywall my bedroom ceiling. The price was above what 2 other guys quoted me, but I felt more comfortable with Mishka by that point. I was still DIY soundproofing and they told me some of my metal studs weren't gonna cut it. So I put different resilient channels up and hung the drywall myself. (I told Mishka I really wanted to try to hang drywall for the first time and he walked me through the steps.) Mishka had the guys mud and tape it for me after the ceiling was done (bc I know my limitations). Insurance took 90 days!!!!!!! But when the funds were sent, Mishka had the same guys come do that work. It took them 2.5 days. My bedroom ceiling, my kitchen ceiling, and my soundproof DIY wall...ALL look amazing. The communication with Maggie and Mishka via text (and phone calls) was great. They protected my floors and furniture well. I'm very happy and will most likely be calling Mishka again when another one of my DIY projects goes awry. read more

Mishka and the MG team have done a few restoration projects for us over the past 5 years. Most recently, we had extensive water damage in our lower level that required significant repair and rebuilding. We were in the process of selling the unit and not based in Chicago - despite these challenges, the MG team did an amazing job diagnosing potential causes of the water intrusion and ultimately rebuilding our lower level. Most importantly, they were on time and on budget so we could keep our sale process moving along. Mishka's communication and responsiveness were also phenomenal. I had water damage from a toilet that broke and leaked through two floors. Called a plumber who came the next day, replaced the toilet, gave me the name of Chicago Water and Fire (separate review) who did a reasonably lousy job in the remediation with incredibly poor communication. They would have won the work to do the reconstruction but I was so taken aback by their lack of responsiveness, left my place pretty dirty, clearly had so much business they didn't care about me that I looked online and was fortunate to find MG. What a difference!! Mishka and Maggie are incredible! Looked at the work to be done, assured me they'd get it done quickly, dealt with my weird travel schedule, and went above and beyond the call of duty. They texted or called every day to check on progress, they worked with my insurance company which was a challenge in and of itself, were incredibly reasonably priced, fast, and most of all, the work was excellent!! The crew was also great. Super friendly and everyone actually seemed to care about restoring our home to an even better condition than it was before. They even helped with design choices. When I had made two choices that weren't great, no worries, they made it right. It seems rare these days when you find folks who are honest, caring, customer-experience oriented, and do excellent work. Well MG Residential are those folks. We used MG Residential to rebuild two bathrooms (one full, one half) and to replace a large portion of hardwood flooring after our refrigerator developed a stealthy leak that somehow soaked into so much of our house without actually developing a telltale pool of water under the fridge itself. It had to have been leaking for months. We went through insurance for the repairs and Rich was so supportive, transparent, and knowledgeable on everything. At some points during the back and forths it became clear that he knew more about the Xactimate estimator and what it covered than our adjuster did. They were on our side the whole time; I was so glad we went with them rather than one of our insurance company's 'preferred vendors.' Communication was amazing, keeping us updated on everything, sending whatever we or the insurance company needed promptly, and then during reconstruction sending us periodic photos, checking in on our preferences, and confirming timelines. They were either on-time or early with everything, and Rich's team was so kind and friendly when we were there. My 4yo was a big fan of checking out what they were up to time to time. The house looks like nothing ever happened. I think I might like the basement bathroom more now than I did before. They aren't the cheapest option out there, but their pricing was super transparent and very fair, and for me they were worth every bit of it given the quality of their work and how they treat their clients. Mishka & Eric from M&G Residential Services saved the day with my bathroom disaster! We had to go to the studs and I was very much a fish out of water! I wasn't prepared to be in bathroom gut rehab, so they really helped work with me to get my house back! They explained everything, were honest, and focused on getting it right. The crew worked diligently and nailed it! I really don't have complaints on the craftsmanship. They helped me customize the space with the 40 inch niche, the wrap around river rock tile around the sink, linear drain and the shower panel (which is really awesome, won't break the bank, and works on some existing showers). Mishka and his crew recently remodeled our entire kitchen and it looks AMAZING!! It was obviously a painful time to live without a kitchen for a month or so, but the experience with MG Residential Services made it so much better. First off, every single person that came to our house to do any type of work (cabinets, granite, back splash, appliance installation, etc) were the nicest and most polite people I've met. They're always listening to your concerns and never rushes you on decisions, yet gives great recommendations for us to quickly make decisions and move on - they recommended things as if they were doing the renovation on their own home. Super honest and straight forward. They found great deals for our lights to save us some money and changed them all around our home (not just the kitchen). Also, every day that they were here, they always cleaned up nicely at the end of the day so even when the kitchen was full on under construction, we didn't have trash or dust around the house. They even helped us get our new appliances installed as we didn't have a great experience with the delivery crew that came from the place where we made the purchase. Mishka also has great communication and will always pick up the phone quickly or text back within a few minutes when I'm trying to reach out. It's been a few days since he's finalized everything in the kitchen and still reaches out to make sure we didn't find anything else that he missed or needs a touch up - this just shows you the responsibility he has on his work. Another plus that I forgot to mention was that he was a great negotiator with the insurance and appraisal companies and was able to negotiate a lot more than what we had ever expected. In early August 2021, my unit suffered water damage from an upstairs neighbor. I hired Green Water & Fire (www.greenrestorationinc.com). They did an excellent job remediating the water damage. Their quote and estimate had a recommendation for some general contractors. One of the options we MG Residential. Since I was happy with their work and fair quote, I went ahead and contacted MG Residential. I had called to other places but given the urgency of getting repairs done, they were the only available contractors to do the work. That was my first big mistake. I should have been patient in getting repairs done. I live in a 1 bd/1ba unit and the damage ruined my main bathroom, hallway closet and hallway laundry room. I met with Mishka Legashvili and Eric Reichert from First Alert Restoration (the sister company of MG Residential). To be honest, upon meeting them, I was happy to meet people who had first-hand knowledge working with Insurance Companies. I felt like they would be advocates for me to get the repairs done in the best way possible. Furthermore, they informed that they use the same estimating software as insurance companies so it would fast-track the process. Mind you, I work from home permanently with and dog. I had been displaced to a small hotel room for the first month so I was eager to move back in ASAP. Also, as many of us know, there's a stigma with insurance companies not paying out. Little did I know, these two individuals were the FRAUDULENT, DISHONEST and HORRIBLE general contractors people warn you about. I actually believed they'd be on my side and hire the best subcontractors to restore my condo. To keep this review short, I'll be uploading the original estimate (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZAwV6Aaw1svhLOYoL7DxO9--ltcZ1287?usp=sharing) that was approved from my Insurance Company, specific line items that were never done, items that were never credited back to me, how they swindled me out of credits by misleading me on what my insurance covered, and to top it off - tried to make me pay for materials that were not even my own and materials they themselves lost! As it turns out, I cannot find any of their professional licenses, they are not listed with the BBB and to my knowledge not even properly insured. I was way too trusting of these two individuals. I'll be uploading all the documentation so you can easily follow the original estimate, their ambiguous invoicing process, text messages when pressed for details, texts where they were caught in lies, etc. They finished most of the work back in November and the holidays have been hectic. I'll be uploading the documents when I get a chance to organize the texts and emails in a manner that is transparent and easy to follow. You can decide from there if this is the type of contractor you want to work with. I'm exploring all my legal options but at the end of the day, is my time worth it? I'm in the process of getting a different contractor to finish the work. There is no trust these two individuals and I wouldn't even afford them to address the craftmanship issues that have come up since they finished the work. My floor boards along the walls have begun to crack and separate, etc. I'll upload pictures of all the issues as well. At first, everything looked great but in time, things are starting to unravel. This is my biggest fear that, not only did they swindle me, but they also cut corners and the poor craftmanship will cause more issues in the future. To be fair, some of the work looks good. The tiling of the backsplash of the kitchen and tub surround do look great. I can't take that away from the subcontractors that did that work. I also like how the floors turned out. I'll be updating my review once I am able to sort my documentation as I am submitting it to the BBB to file a complaint. read more

I contacted MG after my hardwood floors needed replacement due to water damage. I was extremely impressed at how prompt and professional Mishka and Eric were! Within two weeks they got started and finished the job in two days including painting of all my baseboards. They really did a fantastic job, maybe even better then when I first moved in :) They also came back to install the water line for my fridge. MG Residential is a game changer in the world of home repairs/remodels! I contacted Mishka about repairing my home to it's original state after I had some water damage take place in a guest bedroom, a portion of the kitchen and a portion of the master bathroom. Mishka was very prompt in his responses and professional in all matters. He came out and assessed the job, gave me feedback on what needed to be done and how we could slightly improve some things and took it from there. I stressed to Mishka how important it was to get my master bathroom back in order because that was keeping me from living in the home. He understood completely and took it into consideration and ensured he got his guys out there as soon as possible to start the work to get it back to normal. The master bathroom had insulation installed, drywall replaced in the ceiling and a new coat of paint all around. This turned out perfect - within a few days I was able to get back into my home again. I couldn't thank him enough for getting on top of this. The guest bedroom had insulation/ drywall replaced on two walls and ceiling, new carpet installed, and paint all around. When the work was completed, it looked EXACTLY how I had the room prior. I couldn't believe it. Finally, the kitchen had to have drywall replaced, fresh paint all around and new cabinets ordered. The ceiling in the kitchen doesn't have a break and it goes into the living room and dining room so all those ceilings had to be repainted. Mishka's guy did an amazing job of moving all my furniture for me in these rooms and ensuring it was covered up so that no paint would get on it. They took really good care of my furniture - nothing was damaged at all. Once the cabinets arrived, they installed these quickly in my kitchen and look care of the plumbing for my kitchen sink. Overall, the attention to detail in all matters during this restoration was phenomenal. Mishka/Eric and crew were all respectful of my home and treated it as if it was their own and the work that was performed was second to none. There is no job that MG Residential cannot do.
