Thank you to Maria and Francisco for first getting back to us. So many inquiries do not even get a response. I shared pictures of our dining room set that has been in the family for generations. It had bare wood spots, damaged to the seats where they were pushed into the table too hard, too many times. Some old paint spots. Someone tried to update the fabric a few times, but did not work with the natural wood finish. Since it was a family heirloom, we wanted to retain something older in the house after having a complete remodel inside. Maria and Francisco came out to the house after a few texts back and forth. They showed up with fabric samples and padding samples. We could not agree on the fabric samples and they said that they have more at their shop for us to look at. We said that would be great, and set up a day to go visit their shop and pick out our fabric. They picked up all of the pieces, table with 3 leafs, 4 armless chairs and 2 chairs with arms and were on their way. We met up with them the following week at their shop to go through fabrics and pick something that was complementary to the new paint and new furniture coming for the living room. It did not take long to find the right fabric. Francisco had even sanded part of the table to show us how the stain looked on the wood, and that something lighter and even darker was not the look we were going for. That was nice to see before moving on with the process. They said it would be about 3 weeks and that they would call for a delivery date and time. 3 weeks to the day, they are delivering our dining room set. They show up and all of the chairs are wrapped up in moving blankets. Maria has a brand new bag of felt round bottoms for all the legs. We just had all the hardwood floors refinished. They opened up the first chair and we were in awe of how good it looked, it looked brand new. The fabric worked so well with the rest of the kitchen. It was really good workmanship. It was so comfortable to sit in a chair, no more feeling like your sitting on wood again. All the chairs were out and then they opened the table, OMG, the table looked so good! Again, it just looked like it was a brand new table. Such a nice warm feel to the finish without being shiny. We can not thank Maria and Francisco for every step of the process including keeping us up to date on how it was going. If you have older furniture that you just love, but it needs some love, I would recommend taking it to them to bring new life to something you love and want to keep forever!!! read more

MG Reupolstery is a total hidden gem! I requested a quote through yelp to simply fix one ripped cushion and the owners, Maria and Francisco, responded promptly. After setting a price and bringing the chair in to their shop on Renz Ln I took a look at some of their other projects in the work and asked how much it would be to reupholster all of my dining chairs, which are beautiful solid wood, but had seen better days. They were able to reupholster all four chairs and refinish the wood (scratches and all) in less than a week for half the cost of other reupolstery shops in San Jose. They even offered to deliver the chairs to my home, locally, at no additional cost. The craftsmanship was so much better than a prior shop I worked with in San Jose on some vintage MCM stools. They are the kindest and most professional folks you could find, highly recommend for any reupholstery, woodwork or custom furniture needs! read more
