The communication was excellent, even on a holiday weekend I got called back within an hour of reaching out with questions, which I certainly did not expect! They arrived promptly for appointments and were thoughtful about avoiding tracking dirt into our home. They worked with us to customize their work to our coastal climate and were very transparent about exactly what materials they would be using (all top of the line, industral-grade!). I have pets and toddlers and they took my concerns about chemical disinfects seriously and offered several options to make sure I was comfortable with what was used in our home. They really seem to take pride in their work and enjoyed sharing before and after pictures to demonstrate all the improvements they made to our crawl space. I could not be happier with my choice to hire them, and plan to work with them again when I'm ready to replace my attic insulation.

So if I'm on Yelp trashing a business, they really, really deserve it. The first job of pest control is to meticulously inspect for points of ingress and sealing. That's the definition of rat exclusion. Right off the bat, I'll tell you neither technicians that came did a thorough job of inspecting for entry points. And the points that they did seal were defeated and reopened very quickly because they don't use best practices. The first technician only sealed the inside and didn't carefully examine the outside. I'm not sure he even went on a ladder, because after I inspected the garage from the ground after the second technician failed, I immediately located an obvious gap in the eave that led to an opening -- all in plain view. The failure of the second technician led me to climb up on a ladder inside my garage to inspect damage to my insulation and drywall. When I went up, I saw sunlight poking through a hole next to a rafter. If either technician spent 5 minutes looking around on a ladder, they would have immediately seen it like me. I'm just an angry homeowner who spent 15 minutes on youtube. What training did these guys have? When the rats returned after the first technician, they quickly chewed through the spray foam applied to the inside of my detached garage (more on this later). There was never mesh applied to the outside because he didn't ask to see the other side of the detached garage in our neighbors yard, who generally gives permission to enter and whom I have keys to. The second technician should have realized he needed to carefully inspect the inside after the rats returned, because he missed the hole next to the rafter I mentioned. He never went up on a ladder to inspect the interior for potential entryways that were missed in the first round. If he went up, he would have found a gaping gap large enough for a blind person to see. There was sunlight shining through, c'mon guys! Oh, and the spray foam the first tech applied? The rat demolished through it because he didn't block the holes with abrasive enough steel wool before filling with foam. Not. To. Standard. He also never went up on a ladder to look around the eaves outside the garage in my own yard otherwise he would have noticed a gap in the eaves that I didn't even need a ladder to see. Now we have rats in our walls, damage to drywall, foam insulation, and god knows what else will follow from this before all is solved. Oh and finally, I call in and follow up visits are like over a week away. What the hell lol. Do yourself a favor and lookup DIY rat control videos on YouTube because I guarantee you'll do a more thorough and careful job than whoever Attic Crews sends.

We purchased our home many years ago and didn't realize how much of a mess the attic truly was until Universal Insulation completed an assessment in preparation for a possible heat pump installation next year. We're so grateful to have found a company we could trust to do things the right way. During my correspondence with Marko, Marko arranged for an assessment to be conducted by Nicholas. From the initial assessment, Nicholas was incredibly patient in addressing all our concerns and questions -- especially since we are very "hands on" homeowners. Once the contract was signed, Ann promptly scheduled us for the next available appointment and provided clear, detailed instructions on how to prepare before their arrival. The meticulous process began with removing the old insulation and debris, vacuuming the attic floor, and sanitizing the space. The next step was ensuring the attic was structurally sound and ready for new insulation. Because of the care and attention to detail that Marko, Miguel, and Nicholas put into every part of the job, we ended up with a dry, well insulated, properly ventilated, and easily accessible attic. If you're looking for an excellent insulation company, I highly recommend the team at Universal Insulation, Inc. -- they are truly competent professionals who take pride in doing things the right way.

When Elmer came out, he took about 30 minutes to walk through the house and gave us a completely different--and much more reassuring--assessment. He identified entry points where rodents were getting into the crawl space, explained that the air ducts did not need to be replaced, and instead recommended insulating the rafters, reinsulating the attic floor, and cleaning and reinsulating the crawl space. He also suggested installing an attic fan to improve air circulation. Throughout the visit, he was straightforward, knowledgeable, and very approachable. We decided to move forward with the attic fan. Umar updated the contract promptly and even came out personally to help program the fan and connect it to my phone. Their team worked tirelessly over four days and did an excellent job. They were professional, detail-oriented, and left the house clean when they were done. We enthusiastically recommend Insulation Alliance. Thank you, Elmer, Umar, and team! ST, Redwood City

I was so pleasantly surprised that George the owner came out for the inspection himself. All the other companies sent sales people out that really did not know their business. My wife is very sensitive to dust and the entry points to the attic were completely sealed off to prevent dust in my home. I am kinda picky and will tell the job was done perfectly. absolutely no dust or mess. 2000 S.F home completed on one day. VERY pleased with the job. I highly recommend this company!!!!

Met with Jorge who was knowledgeable, friendly and truly wanted us to have a good experience. After getting the quote from them we decided to move forward. The process of signing the contract online and communication via text messages were excellent. They removed all the old insulation, air sealed up the attic in the floor and canned light fixtures, sanitized the attic and rodent proofed. I also needed a bathroom exhaust duct installed, which they did that as well. Our house gets really hot on the 2nd floor, so we opted for the double sided radiant barrier as well in the trusses. R38 was blown in to approximately 13 inches. The team did an excellent job, showed up on time and cleaned up afterwards. This job actually took 2 days, but I would have rather take their time to do great work instead of rushing, so I didn't mind. They also took a bunch of photos along the way and then sent them to me afterwards. After they completed the work, I did notice some nails coming through the ceiling, probably after workers walking on the tresses in the attic and it being an old house. I texted Jorge and he responded right away and arranged for a handyman to come over and fix. Cost was reasonable and average with other quotes I got. I would highly recommend this company.

Eilon reached out to me directly and got a project manager scheduled within the same week. Sebastian came out for the estimate and was genuinely thorough. He spent a solid 15 minutes up in the attic actually reviewing everything (not just a quick glance), and when he came down, he answered every question I had without making me feel rushed or like he was just trying to close a deal. One thing that stood out was how he handled my question about also insulating the garage roof. I figured since the crew was coming out anyway, why not? But Sebastian actually walked me through the decision the right way -- asking me what I planned to use the garage for, whether any other finish work needed to happen first, and why it made more sense to do the insulation once I had a clearer plan. That kind of honest, no-upsell advice goes a long way in building trust. The crew showed up on the day of work around 8:45 AM, communicated clearly about what they'd be doing, and got right to it. They handled removal of the old insulation, sanitization, air sealing the ceiling, rodent proofing, installation of baffles, and filling in the fiberglass loose-fill. They even showed me before-and-after photos, which I loved. Wrapped up by 3 PM (6 hours approx). I had a few other quotes lined up, and EM was very competitive on price. After experiencing their professionalism and the fact that they did exactly what they said they would, I'm a happy customer and would absolutely recommend them.
