I just installed a new Mitsubishi split unit heating and cooling system. OMG, this by far was not cheap, but what they did was well worth the money. It went from gas to electric. They took the old furnace out which was a 5 ton unit in our 23 yrs old home, took out old duck work, cleaned the old insulation out, clean entire attic, sealed all areas so the rodents don't get back in attic, re -laid new insulation, re-did new duct work for split heating & cooling and now have 2 new pump fans. I can already feel the inside the home warmer. 2 -- 3.5 ton unit to handle a 2 story house 1 unit for upstairs and 1 unit for downstairs. As it should have been from the beginning when they built the house. But the builders were cheap and that's a fact. If you have a 2 story house with at least 3500 square feet you need this! Way more efficient. This is my forever home so priceless. They were clean and respectful to home, This is a Diamond company in local Santa Clara Valley and have an A+ rating with BBB. I'm hoping to see a cost reduction next winter. Since the unit was installed we have not turned on the unit once for heat.....4/10/26. Unbelievable. We did use it for air conditioner on 4/9/26, the unit upstairs cooled down house in 10 minutes. Lastly, we have an application down loaded on phone so you can turn on/off your system. I have really enjoyed my experience working with this company. The talk during quote a d negotiation was very smooth, their reviews are solid and there is a reason why they are 5 stars. I have contacted them for vent cleanup , because the last owner has pets, and their pets were not very clean. The crew arrived on time, they were very very polite and respectful. They first asked where are all the vents, and they started work. The giant vaccum/brush uses a lot of electricity, and needs two power plugs. Expect some fuze distributions. I have only contracted them for ducts, but they are very very thorough. They opened each vent, cleaned it up, taped it to fix air leaks, and they even used brand new screws to close the vent After they were done with the vents, they also consulted me with the potential problems of HVAC system and water leaks if heater system. They also helped me with the water discharge like of them AC. Much appreciated. The quote I got from them was pretty much aligned with other companies, but they did way more than our original expectations. For payment, they accept Zelle, which makes it very convenient. If anything goes wrong with my heating or cooling, this is the number I am going to call. No questions. read more

With my furnace not operating I made an appointment with this company. As its cold I took the first available appointment for Sat. 12/6/25 for 12-2 pm. Guess what: nobody called or showed up for the appointment. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL !!. My AC failed right before a nasty heatwave. After calling around to a bunch of places, San Jose Heating & Cooling was the only one that would both answer their phone and had enough capacity to take on more work. First trip out they identified a faulty compressor and fixed up the system so I could run in fan only mode. Less than a week later they were back out to replace the compressor unit outside and get me back to having a house with proper temperatures. Overall, I think the cost of the work was very reasonable considering the turn around time and level of professionalism. We got a new hvac system with heat pump installed. We were happy with the quote we got and the thorough approach taken when looking at the load ability of the system vs what the home has in terms of amperage. It alleviated any concerns we had on potentially overloading the system. The price was reasonable when compared to other vendors. They worked pretty long and got the job earlier than expected. Would definitely recommend. One thing that might be an improvement would be the time that they work through the day so it is easier to coordinate but overall that helped us get the work done early so not much complaints there. read more

I started to research about multiple different HVAC installers in San Jose. Many things led to my decision. 1. The rating and reliability of the units installed by different companies. (Remember that the best warranty doesn't mean the longest lasting or most reliable units, do your research, and read the fine print and exemptions of what is actually covered under the warranty. After all my research and price point, I decided I wanted Carrier as the brand I would go with. 2. I called multiple companies and noted their response time to the inquiry. 3. Looked for a company to not only install but did they have an annual service plan for the units. 4. Read the Yelp reviews and looked for the complaints rather than the positives. This lead me to make multiple phone calls to ask for an estimate. San Jose Heating and Cooling was the first to respond with a physical person to come out and give an estimate. Others came out eventually and told me how hard it would be since the house was built in the 1890-1900's. Some said they would not be responsible for the damage to the plaster. I appreciate the warning up front. Some said that they might not be able to reach certain rooms because of the limited attic space and where the duct would ultimately end up. I get that, and honestly I'm a solutions person as I work in a hospital and every patient is different but can't imagine telling people how things can't be done, we find a way to help people and your attitude carries over into the optimism for the patient and their family. San Jose Heating and Cooling had the best, "Can Do attitude," out of all that actually responded and sent someone for an estimate. So I went with them. We'll let me tell you about their attention to detail and professionalism. They had a guy cutting a hole for the duct in the attic, and another guy holding a box in the room catching all the debris. Willow Glen Electric did a whole house rewire prior to the HVAC install and left a mess everyday, some of my outlets that they installed do not work and had no idea where "all" the newly installed breaker switches were supplying electricity to. I went with them because they were endorsed by Telsa as a preferred installer. To be fair to WGE, they did do what they said, but the end result was lacking and their follow up was spotty, mainly due to illnesses with their installers. The reason I even mention WGE is a comparison to the overall work, they left a mess every day, would work for a while, go out to their trucks, for a break then leave for lunch. I'd say that WGE is being robbed by their installers, some of them would basically work a 1/2 day in the house and get paid a full day. It took them almost a month to do a 2-story 1500 sq foot home. San Jose Heating and Cooling did the install of two heat pumps, duct work and electric in one week. (That was their original quote but then I added insulation in the attic and basement and they still did the job with the add-ons in the promised time!!! Armando also came up with a solution to not take up so much patio space as he was limited to where he could locate the Heat Pump fans. He installed brackets to stack them on top of each other!!! So props to him for minimizing the foot print!!! They arrived at 0800 and left at 1800. They busted their rear ends and in my option went over the top for cleanliness and communication. A rare find in this day and age!!!! As far as the units are concerned, they are so quiet that I'm no longer aware that the system is even running!!! Unlike units I have had in the past. Armando and Ethan were very good with keeping in contact with me through the phone, text messaging and email. I highly recommend San Jose Heating and Cooling to anyone looking for HVAC work!!! These were the positives, my negative is with Carriers WiFi interface. I had the Bryant home controller at my last house and loved it. It told me when my filters were near 10% of life left and when I needed to call for a service this unit "Ecobee," is very cumbersome to work once you set schedules. When you try to adjust the temperatures outside of the scheduled temp you cannot go hire or lower than what you put on the schedule. For instance I usually keep the temp at 68 at night. In the middle of the night it was windy and I wanted to warm up the upper floor but could not get the temp past the scheduled 68 degrees. You have to extend the temperature range in the schedule to deviate, which you can do with the Bryant. No manual override through the app. This is not a reflection of the installer but rather a limitation of the app. My overall experience with the product and install is a 10 out of 10!!!! read more

I have had two scheduled appointments in which the service tech has called me to tell me he's on his way, only to have hours pass and no one show up or even call to let me know they can't make it. Just had an appointment yesterday and the guy never showed up and didn't have the courtesy to let me know. I'm a busy dude, with two kids, a job, etc. and I keep blocking time off in my day for these appointments only to have them stand me up last minute without even calling me, leaving me to wonder what has happened to the tech, is he still on his way, etc. Very unprofessional and I'm shocked by the Yelp comments below that are positive because I have had multiple horrid experiences. read more

Armando and team (4 guys total) came today 3-12-2021 and installed my A/C system. I have an existing HVAC system and they integrated the new A/C system. They removed the top portion of my HVAC and installed a new coil and they replaced the top back (distributor) , I'm guessing its a distributor where the ducts are connected going to the rooms. Armando and team came in with masks and they are very respectful. The team followed my requests from electrical routing, sealing gaps to removing shoes when going inside my house. They covered my hardwood floors because they need to work on my furnace which is located in the attic. I was very impressed by this team. It took them just one day to complete the project. Electrical was included on the project which is a big plus. Other companies will want you to look for a separate electrician to do the electrical part which was no good for me or anybody. I made six inquiries to do the project including costco but I made my decision based on Yelp reviews. Note: they were NOT the cheapest and NOT the most expensive from the six companies I inquired but I still went with them and I am glad I made the right decision. Im very happy with the results, tested the new A/C with my nest thermostat and finally...my family and I are ready for this coming hot summer... They offered financing (wisetak) which is new to them, Daniel sent me the quote using housecall pro and there's a link for wisetak financing. Make sure you communicate to them if you will use Wisetak financing or paying cash or check. Wisetak offered me 3 months no interest or 6 months with only $100+ total interest , they also have 6 or 12 months, but interests goes up the longer term you choose. I chose 3 months with no interest. I like these guys so much that I bought them in and out burgers, fries and sodas for afternoon snack. They did an excellent job.
