Hidden Gem Alert! Mi Alegría Mexican Antojitos has officially stolen our hearts (and sweet tooth)! My sister and I have been eyeing this cute little spot down the street for a while and we finally stopped by as a treat for her birthday. I was torn between the mangonada and the Dubai chocolate strawberries. But let me tell you, those strawberries did not disappoint! The chocolate tasted homemade (and it is made fresh in house!) with just the right amount of crunch. Absolute perfection. To top it off, the customer service was amazing. They gave us samples of the mangonada (which was also delicious, by the way and made fresh there!) and made us feel genuinely welcomed. We were so impressed that we're already planning to go back tomorrow on her actual birthday for round two! Oh!! and they have elote. EL. O. TE. Need I say more? This is hands down my new favorite spot in Lincoln. Don't sleep on Mi Alegría. Go get yourself a treat--you won't regret it! read more

I love the ambiance and vibe here. Cheery colors and branding adorn the store. Great menu selection and cool photos of the offerings on the windows. For the vibe check, this place gets a 10/10 from me. The service is great. I walked in and was greeted right away and placed my order. The lady taking the order was so helpful because I was clueless about what a few things were, but she was patient and helped me figure out what I was going for today. (Thank you for that, by the way!!!) service: 10/10. I felt acknowledged, understood, helped, and welcome here. Food: the Mangonada is a mango lovers dream! It's like a mango freeze with chamoy and a tamarindo stick. I've had these at other places and it's always mango flavored, but here, I got REAL mango chunks! That's a big plus for me. The chicharron was PHENOMENAL. I've always wanted to try one of these but always got something else in the past. Today was the day for this and it did not disappoint! Very pleased. Side note: Dubai chocolate strawberries were super good! Highly recommend for a dessert. Another good one is the pineapple tamale. This place is an amazing hidden gem! This place is great! The menu is fresh, fun and creative, and I enjoyed my jicama very much. The front was decorated cutely for Valentine's and there is a cool chalk wall for the kiddos. Muy delicioso! Our daughter asked to go and we'd wanted to try it for the last year - We sampled quite a few menu items and everything was delicious and fun. Whether it's a hearty savory or spicy snack or drink or dessert, Mi Alegria has fresh Mexican street food type fare to satisfy. They make their own ice cream- the Strawberry is amazing! The owners are very sweet and attentive , the interior is clean with comfy chairs and I would imagine it fills up on a summer day . Really glad we finally visited and will be back! My son and I have wanted to try this place for a while so we decided to go on my birthday. It was soo good and we had a fun time that we decided to go back today with family. One of the workers even remembered us from the first time which made it feel like home! They have a couple games, a chalk wall and a selfie corner. I like the combination of treats they have and how clean it is inside as well. They make their own ice cream too! read more

The watermelon Fresca is SO GOOD. the best I've ever had in placer county. It is 100% prepared fresh so it actually tastes like you're drinking a watermelon (because you are). My son always gets the waffle pop which comes with the choice of a variety of toppings. (Think ice cream cone, but instead of ice cream it's a fresh waffle slice on a stick with toppings stuck to it) And my husband gets all the things lol. Today he got pepinos locos, he scarfed it down. Sometimes it takes a little longer for your order to be ready but i believe that's because pretty much everything is prepared fresh which is a great thing! And so worth the wait. This is one of our favorite little hometown businesses! read more

I have been here twice before and ordered a fruit cup both times. I had a mango, watermelon, and pineapple cup. It was really good. I would've liked the fruit to have been colder but it was still very good. I went in today craving a strawberry milkshake, hoping they had something similar. They don't have milkshakes on the menu but they made me one anyway because they have the ingredients. I greatly enjoyed it and am now a loyal customer. read more

I finally had a chance to try Mi Alegria and it was so good. The fruit cups, the ice cream, and the Tostilocos were all good. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They have some very unique ice cream flavors that I have only seen in Mexico City (Queso, Elote, and Chongos Zamoranos). Inside is very welcoming and clean and they have a cool selfie background.
