Cute little coffeehouse in the original downtown part of Lincoln, nice variety of coffee drinks, pastries, breakfast and lunch items. Always a handful of coffee drink specials to try whatever is different for the month, there is a small seating area, plus an added seating room one door away. Coffee and drink service is always on point, kitchen service can vary from slow to wildly slow, apparently just too tiny of a kitchen prep and cooking area for the number of customers they attract. Make this a stop when you want coffee quick, and when you have plenty of time to sit back and relax when including food service. read more

Over $100 spent, repeated assurances that our food was almost ready, and we still ended up with hot burritos and cold food everywhere else. We placed our order around 11:25 a.m. and received a tracking link showing a 12:10 pickup time. The status never changed to "in progress," so we called around 11:50 to check. We were told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We headed over around noon and followed their curbside pickup instructions, calling to describe our car when we arrived. We were told it would be "a couple of minutes." After another 10-15 minutes waiting outside, I went inside, where I stood for roughly 7-8 minutes without anyone asking what I needed. I finally had to speak up and ask about the order we had placed over an hour earlier. At that point, I was told the burritos were still toasting. I went back to the car and waited another 5-10 minutes before the food finally came out. Their attempt to make this right? A coupon for 15% off a FUTURE visit... which is pointless, because that won't be happening. When we got home and opened everything, the burritos were piping hot, but the rest of the food had gone cold. That made the wait even more frustrating. Delays happen. But repeated inaccurate estimates, having to chase down our order, and receiving food at completely different temperatures is unacceptable. A coupon requiring us to spend more money there does nothing to fix this experience. read more

Hubby and I shared the Jersey Giant Burrito and the Mother Clucker. The bun on the Mother Clucker was great and the sandwich was tasty. The burrito was ample and not over filled with potatoes as some often are. There was a good ratio of each ingredient. They had about 5 different sauces/hot sauces on the table. this adorable little cafe in town that I just wanted to share with you. First of all, they have gluten-free options for everyone, which is a huge plus! The cafe itself is quite small, and the air conditioning wasn't working very well. It wasn't even that hot outside, so you can imagine how hot it would have been if it had been. But the employees were super friendly and helpful, and they even let us know that they were running behind on food. That's really thoughtful! They had forgotten to bring all our ordered items, but they offered a free dessert instead, which was super delicious and thoughtful. Oh, and the lattes were absolutely amazing! They were so good! You help yourself, order at the counter and prepay the tip, so be aware of that. Serve yourself water station, so request a cup with ice when ordering too. Food came relatively quickly and was very good. Large portions, great flavor and very filling. I got the French toast with a side of sausage with orange juice. The sausage is delicious, and the french toast did not disappoint the fresh berry topping was a nice touch. My niece really liked hers too. Her favorite was the sausage too. My only complaint is the amount of sugar that goes into their baked goods and select dishes, such as their French toast. Seems unnecessary to be crunching on sugar in each bite of what would otherwise be an extremely flavorful item; nothing against sweetness, but cutting back or switching to maple syrup would get this regular back to ordering pastries. read more

But after waiting 35 minutes for just one breakfast burrito, I found out my ticket got mixed up and now I have to wait another 10 minutes. They did offer me another vanilla latte, which I appreciate, but the overall experience was pretty disappointing for such a simple order. I get that mistakes happen, but it's frustrating when it's not crowded and you're still waiting nearly an hour. Hoping they can smooth things out, because this spot has potential, just not sure I'll be back anytime soon. read more

I love supporting a home town business, and I truly love the food and coffee from Rebel Hen, however, I am unsure if I'll continue to go. Today was the third time it took about 45 minutes to get food. Not only that but each time I have gone, the girls taking the orders have some kind of attitude like they're annoyed to be there. Maybe they're stressed about being busy, Idk, but don't take it out on your customers. This morning, myself and another customer before me had to wait 15 minutes to even get our order taken because the girl just disappeared and the other guys there were busy with the food orders. They seemed completely overwhelmed by online orders. I have no doubts they are working hard, but if you can't keep up with in store customer orders, maybe the online orders need to be scaled back. Like I said, this has happened on 3 other occasions so it wasn't a one off situation. I also found a hair in my tacos the last time I ate in the restaurant so I'm not sure what's going on. They seem too busy to care about customer service or quality control at times. It's disappointing. The other customer ahead of me even joked about going over to Brood since no one seemed to care that we were there. Might actually need to start doing that now. Side note, but I also think it's laughable that they are charging $35 for a tshirt with their brand name on it when the tshirt brand is SHEIN. Basic SHEIN shirts costs like $5.00 and you're up charging $30 for your logo. Ok lol. read more

They made a custom vegan burrito for me and my partner order the 'Mother Clucker'. They were both excellent! My burrito was so tasty and full of perfectly cooked veggies. Sadly, the coffee was not good. There are hot sauces on the table. I tried habanero and found it to be so-so. Highly recommend this spot! Right on the main strip in Lincoln, very easy to drive by and not realize what you are missing! Incredible food selection, great ambiance and service.
