Clean, small market with a good glass cabinet full of Mexican pastries. I perused the market shelves. The dried spices section is decent. Lots of different fresh tortillas by brands you won't find in Safeway. The fresh produce section is tiny and a little forlorn. I did buy a pound of chopped prepared marinade beef strips for quick flash in the pan tacos. Butcher case is also basic. I didn't see fish. The fresh made pico de gallo is tasty. No frozen food section. Bottles hot sauce collection was smaller than what's shown in historical photos here on Yelp. I searched for El Yucateco brand habanero with coffee, didn't have it. Me have Sad face. There's too few Mexican grocery stores in the Roseville area. None close to me in north west Roseville. But this place barely justifies a 15 minute drive. Small Latino market in Lincoln. Not much to offer for really fresh produce. Shelves stocked with the standard fare. Meat market had some good choices. Some nice salsas which we brought home along with some skirt steak taco mix which was delicious when we cooked it up. read more

This is an awesome Hispanic food store and not to be missed. I have walked by this store many times and have been a bit curious yet never went inside. I finally came in search of Mexican style cookies and baked goods. This is definitely the place. Upon entering, I was consumed by the bakery offerings just to the right of the entrance. There was a large variety that I have rarely seen outside Mexico. Being somewhat a novice at the types of baked goods, the woman at the counter was most helpful and patient at explaining each one. Before making some choices, I perused the aisles of the store and was most impressed by the merchandise. The only downside is that there aren't any clear prices. But if you're looking for that rare or typical Hispanic ingredient, they probably carry it. They even had other things like Sriracha sauce, yes, the "rooster" that is nearly unavailable now. Going back to the cookies and baked goods, grabbed a metal tray, and just started taking items. Some had custard filling and others fruit. It was fun just looking at the choices and selecting That evening with friends, we tried them, and everyone was super fresh and delicious. Kudos to a good store. I will be back. read more

Okay so when moving to Lincoln from the Bay Area and let me say I am Mexican when I first saw this little Tiendita in the heart of downtown Lincoln I was super excited. They have a lot of products that come directly from Mexico. Have you ever had Ruffles chips from Mexico? The queso ones? yes there is a big difference! Well, they have a lot of chips from Mexico to choose from here. They also have Mexican candy, piñatas , groceries, they are also a panadera and a carnicería so they have bread made daily and meats . On the meat side they offer so many different types of meats and they are delicious. They also offer different kinds of queso fresco. If you go to the left side of the store is a whole section just of chiles and spices . This is definitely your go to for Mexican products. So glad to have this store in the heart of Lincoln. Definitely will be coming back for any more goodies .. read more

Bought a cake for a birthday and asked for a tres leches, when we were at the birthday party and cut it I was surprised to find a chocolate cake. The birthday girl doesn't like chocolate cake so you can imagine how terrible I felt. When I went back the following day to get some sort of exchange they said they don't know which cakes were what. One guy that worked there said to do some exchange I would need to bring the cake back in. But because others people at the party had a piece he would not give a refund. He then said to call him as soon as I saw it was wrong. I don't know this guy and am not going to call at almost 10 at night. I however like chocolate cake and it was so so at best. My sister in law ordered a cake for my son's bday and was told the size of the cake and how it would be like. I few days later I go pick it up and I have to wait 20 minutes apperantly it looks they forgot about the cake order because it looked like they made it in the spots. Cake was small and started falling apart on the way home and looked like the design wash rushed all uneven decorations. When I got home my sister in law said that cake was not what they had told her. I'm a Caucasian that grew up in a Mexican American town. Our Mexican restaurants were authentic and so delicious. BUT the carnitas and fresh fried pork skin at this place is absolutely phenomenal. It's like nothing I've ever had! There's so much flavor in every bite and every bite is moist. I watch travel cooking shows a lot and I feel like every carnitas shop ever written or shown should be about this place. It's ridiculous. The Service is superb. They are always friendly and eager to help and suggest items that will enhance your order (the fresh French rolls... crusty, warm, soft chewy inside, just amazing!!!) Go. Go try everything. Having lived in the bay area, we had Chavez Supermarkets to go to for marinated carne asada meat. We were hard pressed to find a place like Chavez that sells the carne asada meat already marinated, for a family get together we were having, I guess we could've gotten plain carne asada meat, but I don't know how to marinate it or what Chavez put in is, so it's much easier to get it already done. DH found this spot and it was $5.29/lb for it already marinated, it was a hit. We go by the rule of thumb to buy 1/2 lb of meat per person, the meat was perfect, so perfect there was none left, we will definitely be going back. read more

CARNITAS!!!! YUMMY!!!! This place has the best carnitas. My whole family, even the picky one that doesn't really eat meat absolutely loves the carnitas. I would and do recommend the carnitas and can't forget the pan dulce, especially the piggies. I can't come home unless I bring 2 or 3 piggies. This place is very yummy. The only thing I wish was they served carnitas during the week also. They are just served Saturday and Sunday until they are sold out each day. So, if you get there about 1pm or 2pm either day you may not get the caritas. Other than that this store is amazing. read more
