You can't get any Dominican food more authentic than this. Although there's no outdoor dining, take out is best and you can bring it to sit by the boardwalk while you chomp down a big portion of yellow rice & beans, pig trotters and pastille for less than $20!

I love my food like i love my men...spanish and hot (dont worry im not a cannibal). And this place was...not what i had expected. The decor is a bit tacky (there was a bunch of pictures that dont suite the place). Two huge TVs dont really do much for the set up either. No menus were available so we had to go up and get one. No waitress came to our table so we had to go up and get their attention. Staff didnt do a whole lot in making u feel welcomed. The waitress wanted nothing to do with me once she found out i dont speak fluent spanish (i know my looks are deceiving...not my fault). Once the order was put in then the rest of our table was actually cleaned off. As for the food...beef stew, yellow rice with beans and pernil. Stick to what you know right? It didnt help. The food lacked flavor (perhaps someone lost the salt?), the rice was dry, the beans were too watery for my taste and the pernil must have been prepared from the day before because it was as dry as a man's mouth at a wet t-shirt contest for 90 yr old women. Their only saving grace was the tostones and that was only AFTER i found the salt and hot sauce and drowned it...cuz mama needs it hot. I am not even sure this is a spanish reataurant. Needless to say this was my first and last visit.

Everything was excellent, but the paella was the star of the meal my wife couldn't put her fork down. The drinks were cold, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the food. The only downside was the service at the front. The host seemed a little unfriendly, which wasn't the best first impression. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, was very welcoming, and seated us in the back, which ended up being the perfect spot for a quick bite and a couple of drinks. Overall, the food and drinks definitely outweigh the small hiccup at the beginning. We'll definitely be back for happy hour again.

Our favorite was the Salchipapa and the yuca croquettes from the platters which we could eat plates of. Between the pork and chorizo, I thought the pork was more flavorful but the chorizo was also very good. Out of the drinks, I enjoyed the bar Chuzo margarita the best. Since it's a clarified drink, it looks different from a regular margarita but oh so delicious. My least favorite was the sangria but I don't usually enjoy wine. When we entered there was only one other table occupied. Food and drinks were served quickly. Their menu is also great in delineating between GF= Gluten Free | DF= Dairy Free | V= Vegetarian | V+= Vegan. I would 100% come back during or not during happy hour. Highly recommend.

When we sat down we noticed that they revamped their menu and had so many new options of Latin American food to try. While reviewing their menu i saw that they had Pollo Chuco!! An Honduran (home country) dish that is so hard for me to find places that make it. I immediately ordered this as i get it whenever i see it on any menu. The rest of my family ordered pupusas, chicharrón de cerdo con tostones and Pollo a la plancha. When ordering the waitress seemed to have issues understanding our orders even though we specified the number on the menu of the order we wanted. I had ordered my food without onions as im not a fan of onions and the food came out with it. They took the food back and had all the onions removed which was fine. There was basically a whole fried chicken which was very surprising! It tasted delicious. The pupusas were great too and the chicharrón con tostones was very surprising in how much food there was on the plate!! All the food was delicious. The place itself could use a little work on the decor and even though we came on a Tuesday night there were a few people inside. After we had finished our meal we asked for the check and as we were going to pay with out credit cards the waitress said that they only accept cash!!!! We did not bring enough cash for all the food we got because we had never run into this problem before. Its a good thing there was a bank close by that one of us went to go get cash. But this would have been great information to have before we ordered and ate. We looked through the menu and on their entrance and nowhere sid it say they only accepted cash. We will definitely return here though.

We didn't have a reservation, but we went the day after a snow storm so it was pretty quiet. At first we were the only customers, but they slowly filled up during our meal. I would describe the inside as 'rustic cute'. It feels very cozy with the exposed brick, wooden tables, and soft lighting. For food we each did the Prix Fixe which lets you choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For appetizers we got the Chileatole and the Anticuchos. For entrees I got the Grass-Fed Skirt Steak and my boyfriend got the Pato en Mole Poblano. For dessert we both got the Bread Pudding. I thought the Prix Fixe was a good deal for the quantity and quality of food. Everything was prepared fresh and tasted delicious. Favorite bites were the Chileatole soup and the Skirt Steak. Our server was super friendly and approachable. Overall it was a really good experience and I would definitely return the next time I'm visiting the area.
