This is what you get for $36 at this POS restaurant!!!! They give you tons and rice and 1 spoon of meat for a dinner platter!! Do not go there! Only 1 female in there is nice but the rest are horrible! I will never go there again! They're the only PR & DR style restaurant in Bensonhurst so they under serve and over charge!

I haven't been back here since pre-pandemic. This place used to be called Quetzal Restaurant and they are under new management. Customer service has improved. When I came in the lady working here was very nice. They have a few choices, fried fish, fried pork skin, salads, yellow rice, white rice, black beans, habichulas, pernil, chicken, soup of the day, slices of cake, and flan. Portions were definitely smaller. For $11 I got pernil with rice and beans no plantains were added to it. It still tasted good. Food was fresh and great variety. Definitely coming back.

No complaints! Everything I've tried so far has been great (roasted chicken; pernil; porkchops; ribs, and especially the chicharrones-- can't get those anywhere else nearby!) The ordering experience was pleasant but I do want to add that I ordered in person each time and not during any busy hours (quite a few people here seem to feel very strongly about the delivery service.) Indeed, they don't appear to be staffed to handle high order volume but luckily I only live half a mile away so that doesn't affect me!

Canceled again so bad review again

"Bar" well we all know what that means, "vamos, vamos, vamos!" Since my first visit last year, I was hungry for more deliciousness and decided to go with Yelpie friend, Sharon for brunch. Bar Chuzo has the restaurant and bar attachment which is where we dined. I happen to like the bar room for dining, it's charming and quieter for a Sunday brunch. Bar Chuzo offers really nice Brunch selections from ceviche, salchipapas, tuna, steak and apps from delicious fries, calamari, crab, plantain chips, croquettes and so much more. Here's what we ordered: Apps- Plantain chips( dinamita !) with a side of salsa verde. Yuca Croquettes with Yuca, Chihuahua cheese, and uchucuta sauce( green herb chile sauce with nuts) Dinamita number two! Two different brunch menus, Menu 1 offers apps, sides, entrees, cocktails and desserts. Menu 2: Bottomless Brunch for 90 minutes choice of Margaritas for $35 or Mimosas for $30. Mains: Crab cake Benedict consists of sunny side up egg, crab cake, potato cake, uchucuta hollandaise sauce, crostini and Chuzo salad. Sharon enjoyed it very much.Dinamita number three. Chicken Chuzo: Brasa marinated chicken skewers, Andes Ecuadorian corn, yuca croquettes. There are two skewers with three pieces of chicken on each, scrumptious, loved the taste of the chicken, the croquettes ( yuca again) nice accompaniment and the corn was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend! Dinamita number four. Cocktail: Mango peach sangria hit the spot! Service: Gabriella is a great, professional and accommodating server. Absolutely wonderful and knows her stuff! Dinamita number five. There are delicious desserts as well but too full. The portions are generous and this meal for me was lunch/dinner. The vibe here is chill with Latin music seeping into your veins. 'Mis felicitaciones al personal!' ( my compliments to the staff). The indoor seating is very interesting and eclectic with great Latin American music. Note: between the music & people speaking, it is difficult to converse with others in the restaurant on a Friday night. So, I was impressed they could seat a large table like us with no notice right away on a Friday night. The service was fantastic coming by frequently and being very patient as the large party decided on what they want. Impressively, all the food was brought out within 2 minutes to everyone at the table at the correct temperature. EVERYONE was raving about their food! I had the steak sandwich (peppers, vegetables, spicy mayo, etc.) with some of the best french fries I've had in ages! I think they were hand cut. The sandwich had a smoky and kicked up flavor. Reminded me of a Chilean chacarero sandwich with the flavor palette. My water was never empty (they refilled often when I was not looking). Portion sizes were huge! Most of us ended up taking our entries home (no one ordered apps). The majority of the table ordered tacos and the fish ones seemed to be the favorite. Everything is priced quite well especially for this part of Brooklyn. My sandwich was only $19! Note: large parties pay an automatic 20% gratuity. Super close to bus lines and only a few blocks from the subway with decent street parking (metered or free). Of course, I biked here and had bike racks right there. I can NOT wait to come again!!!!! Even better, have the 2nd half of my sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

At the recommendation of a local patron, we opted for the happy hour margaritas, tamarind and blackberry. They were both really refreshing, with the tamarind being a bit sweeter than the blackberry. The food smelled delicious, so it was kind of a bummer that we had already had dinner elsewhere. It's definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood and worth checking out.

We ordered the Roasted Half Chicken ($18.72) and Lomo Saltado ($31.20). The chicken was good and filling, though some of the white meat was a bit bland. When I added the hot sauces and paired it with the Mexican rice and beans, it was perfect though. I'm not usually a rice or beans person, but this combination made the meal better. The lomo saltado is a classic Peruvian dish with tender steak, onions, and tomatoes. Usually I see this dish paired with fries, but they opted for chunks of potato instead next to a bed of rice. Overall, it was a delicious meal that was satisfying and fulfilling. Note that they offer cash and card prices.

That set the tone of attentive service, which continued throughout an exceptional meal in Bath Beach. This area is busy, in a locals doing their thing kind of way. It's a real neighborhood, and La Chacra is a great reason to check it out. We initially had decided on ordering the Combo La Chacra, which consists of a whole rotisserie chicken, yellow rice with red beans, an avocado salad, an order of salchipapas, and an order of maduros. We added an extra half chicken, and thought "that's a wrap". However, there was an appetizer special of thinly sliced octopus prepared Peruvian style that needed to be ordered too. The service was excellent. Not overwhelming, but just right. Dishes were cleared, napkins replaced, straw wrappers taken away as soon as they hit the table. It's not something that I'm used to writing about, but needed to be said. And then, the food. It was outstanding. Compared to both the basic, and the high end Peruvian restaurants that I've been to throughout the city, La Chacra is far and away the best. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt intentional. Nothing was just thrown on a plate. As full as we were, and we were quite full, there was no way that we were leaving without trying something from the desert menu. Another wise choice, as both the flan and the tres leche cake were fantastic. To wrap this one up, this spot is a solid five stars. The prices are very reasonable and the food, service, and charming atmosphere will have us returning soon.
