My family and I absolutely love Mi Casa! Funny story...when a pastor friend first invited me to "Mi Casa," I genuinely thought he was inviting me over to his house for dinner (since "mi casa" means "my house"). Turns out, he was talking about Mi Casa Mexican Food in Lakewood off Woodruff! Ever since that first visit, I've kept coming back...not just because the food is great, but because the service is consistently awesome. Eli, the owner, has such a calm demeanor even when the place is super busy, and he's always polite and attentive. That kind of presence really makes a difference. My go-to order is the three-item combo, which comes with a beef crunchy taco, cheese enchilada, and chili relleno...highly recommend it! The only small thing I wish is that they had soda on tap, but honestly, it's not a big deal at all since they have delicious aguas frescas. Mi Casa is a gem! If you want amazing Mexican that taste like it was home made straight from your abuelitas kitchen come here. Eli and the entire staff was so sweet and welcoming and the customer service is great too. We were lucky to get there when it wasn't too busy between 3-4pm. Completely renovated inside and seems bigger since it's more open now. Delicious food and delighted to find that I could still order chips and cheese with guacamole, which I don't believe is on the menu but if you know about it, they'll still make it. I highly recommend it.. Very pleasantly surprised with their Albondigas soup. I had just a cup, but it had three good sized meatballs and plenty of vegetables in a delectable broth. Parking is still a problem, but typically you can find spots in the back and come in through the Burro Room (bar). I ordered a plain bean burrito and paid $8.79 . I'm never going back the cook rolled it so small Taco Bell burritos are bigger and don't fall apart. The cook doesn't know how to roll the tortilla. We asked if there was any other salsa we were offered chopped tomatoes and onions in a tiny dish for $2.00. This restaurant needs to upgrade it's menu. I was craving enchiladas and found this spot. This is a small family own restaurant that has been around for a long time I think. The owner made small conversations with his returning customers, and it was nice to see that. The place is a bit old and could use some updated ventilation. When they bring out their sizzling fajitas, the restaurant becomes smoky. It didn't bother me as much since I was ordering takeout out. He offered chips and salsa while I wait for the order. The salsa was spicier than I thought! It was good. The chicken enchiladas with the green sauce and the rice and refried beans hit the spot. It was exactly what I was craving for. Wanted to try something new for breakfast and found Mi casa in the city of Lakewood... we ordered mechaca, a mexican specialty made with shredded beef and eggs. And i had the huevos rancheros, over easy eggs over a soft corn tortilla. Both served with rice and beans or potatoes . I knew right away it was going to be good just from the presentation. after the first bite, i was right!! All the flavors were perfectly delicious. The melted cheese , the warm beans . Had the cheeseburger, fries and drink. The cheeseburger was so delicious and juicy. The bun was nice. It was soft and tasted, but got a little mushy, but I ate the burger anyway. Fries? Nothing special! I also ordered a kid's onion rings. It was just enough (5). The side salad looks delicious. I will enjoy it tomorrow for lunch. The drink is absolutely huge! My family has been coming here for years. I've always liked the food. My usual is a bean and cheese burrito while my mom gets their french fries lol. When she visits, Mi Casa is one of the top places on her list. My brother tried a carne asada burrito which he said was just ok. It only has meat, beans, and cilantro. He wishes there were onions, tomatoes, cheese, and rice. This last time, I tried the fried ice cream. It was huge and really yummy. The customer service is always spectacular. They are so nice and very attentive. They make sure we have everything we need and are satisfied. Prices are reasonable, about $10-$15 per person. Review is solely for their menudo. Ordered a takeout for their large menudo ($13) and it came with 3 small corn tortillas. Since it wasn't enough, I asked for more which came out to $1.50 for 3 more small tortillas. Side note: Typically, other restaurants like the ones in Hawaiian Gardens give extra for free. Menudo wasn't really filled up to the top. There were tendon bones in there, but no tendons, just tripe and hominy. It was extremely salty and watery. My eyes started to twitch after one bite. It was so salty, I couldn't even eat anymore. The soup was so watered down that even adding water wouldn't help. Really wanted to like this place, but I'm sad to say that their menudo is one of the worst ones I've ever had. read more

My mom & I never agree on what's good Mexican, as she's so picky, but we have a winner! I saw a review about the beans not tasting like basic canned beans and I could not agree more. She got menudo and a pork tamale. I got the 2 enchilada plate. Omg SO. GOOD. I am struggling to stop eating despite being super full. Chips and salsa were served while we were deciding what to eat, chips were warm, salsa with a bit of a kick to it. I ordered a tostada and my mom ordered the chilaquiles from the breakfast menu. We also ordered a chicken enchilada a la carte. The food was so good, chicken was tender and soft. My tostada came with guac and sour cream, I only wish there was a little more guac, you get a tiny tiny scoop of it. Given this was my first time here, I was pleasantly surprised with the menu options. The quality of the burrito I ordered to go was on point. Everything was great about it but I did order a chimichanga so I was expecting the outer exterior to be more crispy. My friend ordered the taco, enchilada, and Chile relleno combo. Taco was great, enchilada & chile relleno were ok, but disappointed it came with rice pilaf and not traditional MX rice. Great service from when I called in and to picking up the order.
