I've been to Off Street Cafe twice for brunch. This restaurant is always busy during the weekend,…read moreso we always have to put our names on the waitlist. Luckily, both times, the wait was quicker than expected and we were seated promptly. The food is typical brunch food, but it is high quality, especially considering how quick the service is. Here is a good mix of savory, sweet, and healthy options for any craving. During our last visit, my sister and I really enjoyed the Tuna Melt and the banana pancakes. The best part? The prices are fair for the portion of food that you get! We've celebrated Father's day twice at this cafe, and I'm looking forward to coming back here for future casual brunches and special occasions.

Was fun to watch the hustle and bustle (and not-so-hustle of some). But BIG note for the manager/owner (and others who are concerned about it), almost ALL the FOH staff was chewing gum while working which is not just a health code violation but also just gross. Hopefully this gets addressed soon. I'll note, my server didn't check on us a single time. We were out of water and coffee by the time our check was dropped off. I will say, facing the back, I did see her (and other staff) go to the back and chew their gum, touch their phones, and drink their drinks without washing their hands and coming back up front (also a health violation, btw). As I mentioned, I've had good service in the past so I'm leaving it at 4-stars.

We sat outside since it was a nice day, although it was definitely pretty warm. The staff was really kind and helped us open the umbrella so we could get some shade, which we really appreciated. The service throughout the meal was great. Everyone was friendly and polite, and the coffee was especially good. I ordered the Artesia Breakfast, which came with two eggs, sausage, country potatoes, and toast. Everything was cooked well and the portion was pretty generous. I'd already been eating quite a bit over the last few days, so I couldn't finish the whole plate, but I definitely enjoyed it. My coworker ordered the shrimp and grits, and I liked that they had some Southern-style dishes on the menu too. We stayed for about an hour, eating, talking, and just enjoying a relaxed meal outside. It was a really nice experience overall. Good food, great coffee, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I'd definitely come back again.

Bakers & Baristas is definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for a really good cake,…read moreespecially for a special occasion. The cake I got was absolutely delicious. I will say, the cakes are on the pricier side, so it might not be an everyday purchase, but for a birthday, celebration, or something special, I think it's worth it. They also have some really good cookies and macarons, so even if you're not picking up a whole cake, there are plenty of smaller treats to try. Overall, the quality is there. For a special occasion when you want to spend a little extra on a good cake, Bakers & Baristas is definitely worth checking out.

Y'all ever order food and wonder if the seasoning took a personal day?…read more Came for brunch and got the breakfast bowl. It was so underwhelming and unseasoned I genuinely sat there confused, like... is this a prank? Did somebody forget salt exists? My honey ordered the smash burger and it was also underseasoned and overcooked. A sad little double feature of disappointment. Service matched the food. Once they dropped the plates, they ghosted. Never table-touched, never checked in. They could literally see the looks on our faces and still kept walking by like we were invisible. We ended up throwing most of it away. I only took the egg and those sad, unseasoned potatoes home so I could try to rescue them myself. The bacon? Delicious. Absolute legend. Everything else tasted like it was cooked by someone who's never met a spice rack. To the owner: please, for the love of brunch, go find the seasoning. It's out there somewhere. We believe in you.

Revisit? Definitely. Great for weekend breakfast…read more Sunrise Cafe never disappoints. It's just what a casual diner should be: delicious, generous with the portions, and efficient. I usually order the Popeye Omelet with home fries and toast. Everything is seasoned well and the ingredients taste fresh. Other things I've tried include the Chilaquiles, French Dip, Kids Scrambled Egg Breakfast with French Toast, and Posole. Everything is classic and reliably good. You'll think, wow, I'll probably need a box to-go, but somehow you'll eat it all in one sitting! Sometimes you have to write your name down at the check-in stand out front in order to get a table. But I've never had to wait too long. The servers really pay attention to anything you might need without rushing you or asking lots of questions. So I think that's how they keep the wait time short. The vibes here are just 10/10 for a family breakfast. Our toddler likes watching the model train that circles the upper windows of the restaurant. It's busy so there's lots of pleasant background noise. You can watch the traffic go by on Lakewood Blvd. Prices aren't too steep. I've ordered takeout and delivery from here as well and never had any complaints. Parking can be hard to find in the lot right next to the restaurant but can usually be found right away in the back lot. Overall, just a nice neighborhood spot to eat.
