Casa Leon Special, chicken, shrimp, onions, queso and seasoning! So good !

We enjoy this local restaurant so much. Sarah the owner works hard to make it a good experience despite having a hard time finding help. It is such a treat to eat there!

Absolutely delicious! Shrimp fajitas & carnitas were a wonderful taste experience! Haven't been in a while & wish we had gone more often. We are from California and this is the best we have found in Anderson!

Went with a friend. Great location right at the Marina parking lot. Stepped inside, it was festive and welcoming. Food at other peoples table looked scrumptious. We we're looking forward to this meal. Didn't get the Servers name... friendly enough but nothing notable. She brought some chips & salsa. They were very thin chips and I felt they were stale. Salsa was "flat" with no spice. I ordered a Margarita. OMG..... It was so sweet, I couldn't drink it. It was safer to go with a bottled beer. We ordered our food.... Shredded beef tamales, & a combo dish. It all looked great, and it was moist but everything was tasteless. No flavor at all !! We probably won't be back....

We arrived here by Divine appointment. Traveling back to Greenville, SC from Athens, Ga on I-85, my car suddenly began losing power. We were right at exit 14 and safely got off the interstate at the Marathon gas station. In hopes that the car would reset if we restarted, we tried to drive it to no avail and wound up on the other side of the overpass in the parking lot of Mi Casa Leon right at about 5PM. Calling one of my sons to come get us from Greenville and calling AAA, both arrived around the same time at 5:30. But in the meantime, we had opportunity to look at the Yelp and Google reviews for this restaurant - which quite frankly, not knowing its local reputation and judging from just the outside, we would not have even considered eating here. But after sitting in the car for a half hour and reading reviews, it became a must eat here event! We started with the Texas margarita, because - hey - it was a traumatic day and we had a designated driver. Very good. Then the Mexican guacamole, made by the owner and served with crispy, thin tortilla chips. So delicious we ordered another one to take home with us. Probably the best guacamole I have ever had. My wife and one son ordered fajitas, which were good. My other son ordered pork tacos, which was a mistake because he was anticipating al Pastor, but they were pulled pork. Good, but not as satisfying for him. I asked if the owner made her own mole sauce, which she does. So, I had the Pollo con Mole Arrozo. Mole chicken with rice. It was deep and complex in flavor, just the right amount of heat and excellent. The chicken was breast meat and a little tougher than I wanted, should have used thighs, but it was still very good. I over-chipped on the salsa and guac so that meant I had a good portion of leftovers to take home and enjoy for lunch the following day. Probably not a place I would drive the 45 miles to get to, but if I am remotely nearby, this is a must stop for very good, home-cooked Mexican.

I would have given 5 stars, but it was lacking salt, so it needed a little more flavor. We loved the food though besides that.

3-31-19 Stoped again on way to Atlanta. This place does an amazing job. Love their jalapeño cheese dip (best ever) and thin, hot chips... Makes such a difference to have nice THIN chips. Although it was 5 PM she said I could order the lunch menu and just add one dollar. I ordered the chimichanga and loved it. My husband ordered the large burrito and also really enjoyed it. Highly recommend this place and believe the owner is also the waitress.

First, I have to say owner is a doll! Small business owner trying to make it! Food was amazing! Mi casa Leon fajitas were HEAVEN! my hubby had pollo Creme but shrimp instead. Omg! Queso cheese cream sauce w spinach vegetables and veggies...WOW! 5stars! Wish I would have taken photo... but we ate to quick! They have a full bar..but they can't open due to Covid rules. They do offer full bar menu in restaurant. I highly suggest next time you want to go to a chain restaurant, to stop and change course! Try a small business owner ...they might just blow your socks off, like this one just did for us!

Best Mexican style food that we have found in the area. Everything is done with care and attention to detail. The bean dip is delicious.

We are constantly frustrated when eating at restaurants over the last couple of years…read more Today, we thought we would try something outside of our norm. Wow, we made a great decision trying Mama Juana Latin Fusion. We had an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the host, we knew this was going to be something different. The host asked, and was genuinely excited when we told him it was our first time in. When the waiter arrived, he was excited to tell us about the menu, as well as the food itself. He enthusiastically explained that while they had Mexican dishes, authentic Latin food was their real specialty. He made great recommendations and took great care of us throughout the meal. We chose to try the empanadas (1 cheese, 1 chicken, and 1 steak) and some cheese dip with chorizo. Both were exceptional. Full of flavor. My wife and I agreed to split 2 entrees, and that was another good decision. I had the Cachapa with shredded chicken, and she had the Venezuelan Arepas. Neither of us had ever had these dishes, but both were amazing. We were stuffed, but no way we couldn't take a desert home for later. The flan and the Tres Leches were both AWESOME! If you are on the fence, just try this place. You will be glad you did! They take a tremendous of pride in the quality of the food. The restaurant was very clean and had a great ambiance.

There were many different options but I had to try the Empanadas and the hubby had the Street Burrito. Both were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive and I could tell we aren't the only ones that think they are great because the traffic was steady in and out of the place. Oh and they get super high kudos for cleanliness, the entire place including the bathrooms were spic and span!

It's counter service--you order at the register, find a seat (there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating), and they'll bring your food out. I ordered the fish taco combo, which came with two fish tacos, yuca fries, and a canned drink. The tacos were good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the menu changes. Everything is a combo now, and I was told I couldn't order the tacos by themselves. I wish they'd bring back the à la carte option because I'd rather try a few different things than be locked into one meal. The yuca fry portion was also smaller than I expected--I only got about five fries. Overall, it's still a spot I'd recommend if you're visiting Athens since it's been a local favorite for so long. I just left a little less impressed than I remember being the last time I was here.
