Casa Leon Special, chicken, shrimp, onions, queso and seasoning! So good !

We enjoy this local restaurant so much. Sarah the owner works hard to make it a good experience despite having a hard time finding help. It is such a treat to eat there!

Absolutely delicious! Shrimp fajitas & carnitas were a wonderful taste experience! Haven't been in a while & wish we had gone more often. We are from California and this is the best we have found in Anderson!

Went with a friend. Great location right at the Marina parking lot. Stepped inside, it was festive and welcoming. Food at other peoples table looked scrumptious. We we're looking forward to this meal. Didn't get the Servers name... friendly enough but nothing notable. She brought some chips & salsa. They were very thin chips and I felt they were stale. Salsa was "flat" with no spice. I ordered a Margarita. OMG..... It was so sweet, I couldn't drink it. It was safer to go with a bottled beer. We ordered our food.... Shredded beef tamales, & a combo dish. It all looked great, and it was moist but everything was tasteless. No flavor at all !! We probably won't be back....

Texas Margarita!

We arrived here by Divine appointment. Traveling back to Greenville, SC from Athens, Ga on I-85, my car suddenly began losing power. We were right at exit 14 and safely got off the interstate at the Marathon gas station. In hopes that the car would reset if we restarted, we tried to drive it to no avail and wound up on the other side of the overpass in the parking lot of Mi Casa Leon right at about 5PM. Calling one of my sons to come get us from Greenville and calling AAA, both arrived around the same time at 5:30. But in the meantime, we had opportunity to look at the Yelp and Google reviews for this restaurant - which quite frankly, not knowing its local reputation and judging from just the outside, we would not have even considered eating here. But after sitting in the car for a half hour and reading reviews, it became a must eat here event! We started with the Texas margarita, because - hey - it was a traumatic day and we had a designated driver. Very good. Then the Mexican guacamole, made by the owner and served with crispy, thin tortilla chips. So delicious we ordered another one to take home with us. Probably the best guacamole I have ever had. My wife and one son ordered fajitas, which were good. My other son ordered pork tacos, which was a mistake because he was anticipating al Pastor, but they were pulled pork. Good, but not as satisfying for him. I asked if the owner made her own mole sauce, which she does. So, I had the Pollo con Mole Arrozo. Mole chicken with rice. It was deep and complex in flavor, just the right amount of heat and excellent. The chicken was breast meat and a little tougher than I wanted, should have used thighs, but it was still very good. I over-chipped on the salsa and guac so that meant I had a good portion of leftovers to take home and enjoy for lunch the following day. Probably not a place I would drive the 45 miles to get to, but if I am remotely nearby, this is a must stop for very good, home-cooked Mexican.

I would have given 5 stars, but it was lacking salt, so it needed a little more flavor. We loved the food though besides that.

3-31-19 Stoped again on way to Atlanta. This place does an amazing job. Love their jalapeño cheese dip (best ever) and thin, hot chips... Makes such a difference to have nice THIN chips. Although it was 5 PM she said I could order the lunch menu and just add one dollar. I ordered the chimichanga and loved it. My husband ordered the large burrito and also really enjoyed it. Highly recommend this place and believe the owner is also the waitress.

Support small businesses! This restaurant is amazing!

First, I have to say owner is a doll! Small business owner trying to make it! Food was amazing! Mi casa Leon fajitas were HEAVEN! my hubby had pollo Creme but shrimp instead. Omg! Queso cheese cream sauce w spinach vegetables and veggies...WOW! 5stars! Wish I would have taken photo... but we ate to quick! They have a full bar..but they can't open due to Covid rules. They do offer full bar menu in restaurant. I highly suggest next time you want to go to a chain restaurant, to stop and change course! Try a small business owner ...they might just blow your socks off, like this one just did for us!

We are constantly frustrated when eating at restaurants over the last couple of years…read more Today, we thought we would try something outside of our norm. Wow, we made a great decision trying Mama Juana Latin Fusion. We had an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the host, we knew this was going to be something different. The host asked, and was genuinely excited when we told him it was our first time in. When the waiter arrived, he was excited to tell us about the menu, as well as the food itself. He enthusiastically explained that while they had Mexican dishes, authentic Latin food was their real specialty. He made great recommendations and took great care of us throughout the meal. We chose to try the empanadas (1 cheese, 1 chicken, and 1 steak) and some cheese dip with chorizo. Both were exceptional. Full of flavor. My wife and I agreed to split 2 entrees, and that was another good decision. I had the Cachapa with shredded chicken, and she had the Venezuelan Arepas. Neither of us had ever had these dishes, but both were amazing. We were stuffed, but no way we couldn't take a desert home for later. The flan and the Tres Leches were both AWESOME! If you are on the fence, just try this place. You will be glad you did! They take a tremendous of pride in the quality of the food. The restaurant was very clean and had a great ambiance.

Mojitos were excellent and flowing like James Bond's speciality drinks. The waiter was exceptional and when he found out it was my birthday, gave me a free flan. 10/10 experience, dont let the location fool you, it really is lovely.

[ THE FOOD ] We ordered WINGS as an appetizer to share. They were cooked to a golden crisp and yet remained amazingly juicy with delicious flavor you could taste even through the sauces. We chose the Chipotle sauce for half of the wings and Honey Mustard for the other half. The four of us literally debated over which flavor tasted best, but couldn't make a firm decision other than to say both were excellent. Two of us ordered burgers as entrees while the other two ordered shrimp. I ordered THE FACTORY BURGER which included a rather thick slice of pork belly that was as thick as the Angus burger patty! It was topped with tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, caramelized onions, chipotle mayo & cheese. My brother-in-law ordered the DOUBLE DEVIL BURGER which included two Angus beef patties, tomato, lettuce, fried mozzarella, sriracha, pickle onions, cheese, & bacon. Honestly, we were both happy with our burgers UNTIL we sampled the shrimp dishes! My sister ordered the CHIPOTLE SHRIMP w/sautéed vegetables & chipotle sauce while my son ordered the HAWAIIAN SHRIMP w/grill pineapple, sautéed mushrooms & green onions. Both included heavy cream, white rice, a leafy spinach salad and BOTH were nothing short of an unexpected delight. Not knowing what to expect probably made them taste even better as the unique flavors danced on our tongues. I traded part of my burger for a few of their shrimp and I immediately had buyers remorse! The CHIPOTLE SHRIMP had a slight flavor edge on the HAWAIIAN SHRIMP, but I thought my wife would really enjoy the pineapples included in the Hawaiian. So I ordered a to-go plate and brought the experience home. She devoured them like she hadn't eaten in weeks. She only ate one shrimp (which was expected considering she doesn't eat much meat), but tore through the rest of the plate like a powerful vacuum! I've never seen her eat like that before and I was honestly almost frightened, but I was happy to eat the remaining shrimp! LOL The Mango Mojito was also fantastic and service was friendly, albeit not fast. There seemed to be only one cook and one server when we arrived around 4pm on a Thursday, but everything arrived to the table hot and fresh. The wings were actually too hot to eat immediately. [ FINAL THOUGHTS] Listen to me carefully Georgia residents! I hope with all of my being that if you ever grace this restaurant with your presence they will cook your food as perfectly as they cooked ours! Words simply cannot express how impressed everyone in our party was with their meals. Maybe we were just hungry, but everything seemed to hit the spot! The burgers get high praise from other reviews, but IMHO they were not nearly as delicious as those dang shrimp and those daggum wings... LAWD HAMMERCY! ¡Buen provecho!
