My meal was fine. However, I found a woman's fingernail in my food. Unfortunately, the wait staff did not even offer an apology.

From the moment we walked in, the hostesses and manager made us feel welcome and had us seated right away. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. He walked us through the menu, explained how many of the dishes were prepared, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We started with the octopus and fresh focaccia with honey. The octopus was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had and on par with dishes I've enjoyed at Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized restaurants. We also shared the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the local snapper and the ribeye cap topped with lobster claw and tail in chimichurri. Every dish was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were well balanced (not overloaded with ice), and the Thyme on Thyme is an easy recommendation if you're looking for something light and refreshing. The wine list paired nicely with the meal as well. Watching the sunset over the water while listening to music drifting across the park made the evening even more memorable. Thanks to Angel and the kitchen for such an outstanding experience. Seventh South has earned a spot on our regular rotation whenever we're in Naples.

Our server Mike, did an excellent job taking care of us. We started off with a couple cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had the Not Bogged Down. For dinner I had the Chorizo Encrusted Red Snapper and my wife had one of the specials which was the Tripletail. She said it was the best seafood dish she has ever had. For dessert, we split the special Crème Brûlée topped with diced fruit. We enjoyed the dessert so much, we purchased one for a sweet family of four sitting next to us. Our server Mike and the owner, Barry, helped make that happen and we appreciate it.

A Hidden Gem That Proves You Can't Judge a Book by Its Strip Mall…read more Don't let the location fool you. Tucked into an unassuming strip mall in Naples -- yes, right next to a laundromat -- Next Level Caribbean Bar and Grill is exactly what its name promises: next level. We stopped in to pick up an oxtail order for a friend, and ended up staying to enjoy cocktails on the patio. While we were there, we ordered the jerk chicken tacos (only managed a photo of those -- we were too busy soaking up the ambiance to think about documentation), a quesadilla, and another appetizer I honestly can't recall by name but absolutely remember enjoying. The food is fabulous and authentically Caribbean. The kind of food you simply do not expect to find in a nondescript little corner spot. Yet here we are. What really stood out beyond the food itself was the sheer volume of business this place was doing. While we sat, a steady parade of Uber Eats and DoorDash drivers cycled through, alongside families walking in for their own pickup orders. When a restaurant is replacing people's home-cooked meals on a regular basis, that tells you something important: the food is that good, the consistency is that reliable, and the staff clearly knows how to execute both dine-in and takeout without sacrificing quality or temperature. That is not easy to do, and they make it look effortless. A note on timing: I visited in early 2026 and am only now getting around to uploading the photo and writing this up -- my apologies for the delay. A return visit is already on my to-do list, and I'll update this review when I get there. Practical tips: You'll need a car or to be within their delivery radius. I did pickup myself and can confirm the order held up beautifully. If they deliver to you, I'd encourage you to give them a try without hesitation. Next Level Caribbean is a genuine find. Seek it out.

Place looks like a spot that would be a mini night club in the evening. I ordered the griot complete which was $20 after taxes. Food was cooked well and was flavorful. The meat was a little dry but with the sauce and coleslaw it balanced out. Was a good spot to eat fun to try new places.

Finally, my 30 plus member cigar club, from the Venice FL area decided to make a road trip to Naples, specifically to visit The Burn. Twelve of us made a caravan and left Venice, driving to Naples. We arrived and had no trouble finding nearby parking for all of our vehicles. After parking we entered the lounge finding it to be quite large, with a nice bar, humidor and an outside patio too. We entered the humidor and found a staffer who offered suggestions, cut our cigars and even offered to light them for us. We paid him right there and stuffed his tip jar - that was awesome service. We then gathered in the main room of the lounge and began our cigar tasting while enjoying a few Old Fashion whiskey drinks. Then six of us wandered out to the patio and grabbed a nice large table. The bartenders were fast and service was okay. The servers were awesome, prompt and very attentive to our tables - efficient is a great description. We stayed until about 6 PM and then headed home. It was a very enjoyable adventure. I understand Rocky actually has a birthday there on March 10, 2026. Hopefully I can attend.

The cesar salad is big and there is a lot of cheese. Yummy. It is properly dressed. Croutons are out of the box. The triggerfish stole the show. My first bite set off fireworks in my mouth. The sauce is drinkable. The fish is flaky but still has substance. There is not the slightest fishy taste. Then the crunch tops it off. The fries magically remained crispy despite soaking up the sauce. That was brilliant to add fries to the dish. I had the watermelon spicy tequila drink and that didn't disappoint either. Service started a little slowly--we didn't meet our server for about 15 minutes, although another team member quickly brought us water and drinks. Once our server arrived, he was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. It seemed like he may have been covering several tables that evening, so we completely understood. Our meal ended up taking about 90 minutes after reservation, which was longer than we expected for a quick dinner. We shared two dozen oysters, king crab legs, the miso butterfish, and cocktail.. The oysters were fresh, though we had slightly higher expectations. The king crab was easily the standout of the meal. The miso butterfish was well prepared but a bit heavy on the sauce--I think a touch of acidity and a side of vegetables would have balanced it nicely, something to consider. Between the waterfront breeze, friendly hosts, and our server's hospitality, we still had an enjoyable evening. It may have simply been a busy night for the service team. We'd gladly give Syren another try.
