    Jumbo lime margarita

Came here for Happy Hour from 3-8pm and it was fantastic! Great menu for jumbo margaritas, quesadillas and Mexican pizza all items under $10 which is a great deal. Good portions and all delicious! Great and attentive service. Margaritas were strong too! My friends don't drink so they ordered a jamaica instead and it was gigantic. I highly recommend this place to come relax and hang out in the patio.

Website showing delivery but when I call they say they don't do delivery

Love their food but mad at them for having their website lie about having delivery. Their website clearly states a delivery option but when you call they say their website lies. Can't trust an organization that starts out by lying to me.

Honestly I was a bit disappointed with the service and the food. They took a while to acknowledge us and take our order for drinks and we were sitting in front of the restaurant. The food also was a bit disappointing. We did order from the happy hour menu so the portion size was fine it was the lack of flavoring that did it. The decor of this establishment was very nice though.

So after some business in town, we decided to check out this little hole in the wall. Parking is always hard to find on this little street. Only one handicap parking spot and the curb was cut for handicap that's a plus. This restaurant is located in a very busy traffic area. Outside dinning with about 4-5 tables and chairs. As we walked to the doors it had two entrances which is kinda confusing on which one to get to the restaurant, I understand after we walked in why two doors. It seems to have a bunch of smaller offices and retail stores and even upstairs. Inside has approximately 15-20 tables and chairs and clean. A nice atmosphere to sit a chill with a few friends and drinks and watch a game on two TV's. A full bar from what I can see from my table. We were greeted by one of the workers and sit anywhere (Maybe it's a sign but no one was even in there). We were taken back by all the food they offer on the menu. The drinks arrived (7-Up and an Ice Tea plain) 7-Up or something similar was off. Not sure if it was an off brand but it didn't sit well. Our food arrived and it was time to chow !! Easy don't get to excited. I'm not sure where to start but a simple cheese enchilada with green sauce and Spanish rice. Everything was VERY salty to the point I can't eat it anymore. Now I'm not negative on salt but only in proportion with my food !!! It didn't even look appealing. The plate was VERY HOT but the food wasn't. Lastly the price, I'm on a tight budget nowadays just like most of us are, so we order accordingly and what we can afford. We were thinking if we keep it under $40.00 we'll be ok. Well again kinda confusing when we get to the counter to pay it's a totally different price than the menu.. it was never explained to us that if you pay with a credit card it's a totally different price then what's on the menu. There price on the menu is a CASH PRICE ONLY !!! They charge 3% on top of the total of the bill. Our bill was well OVER the $40.00 mark. Now that doesn't sound like much but when your on a budget it can add up. Very misleading and no where on there menu does it mention that difference and nobody explains this fact to you. Now I don't like to bash any restaurant I've been to in the past years but just be aware of these hidden costs with some restaurants it can truly add up. Here are my numbers, in my humble opinion, for Mi Cocina Mexican Grill. Ambiance: 7 of 10 Service: 5 of 10 Food: Negative 3 of 10 Return: 0 of 10 Overall there are a lot of Mexican restaurants out there and I'm sure I can find better. Until Next Time, Stanley.

Molcajete This place is very hidden but it's so we'll worth it. This serves 2-3 people, it comes with a side of beans and rice place. The taste, temperature and presentation is well worth dinning.

    Chilaquiles
    Jharvis L.

I've been here a couple times, and both times I've had the chilaquiles. What setts this restaurant apart from others is that they allow you to add meat to the dish, and I've added chorizo. You can chose between rojo and verde for the sauce. I'm partial to verde with eggs over medium. I would give this place five stars if customer service was above average. They don't ask if you want refills or how the food or visit was. Because the chilaquiles are the bomb, they get four. I wouldn't mind coming back to try other dishes, and if I'm ever in the area again during lunch or dinner, I'll definitely try. You can't go wrong with trying the chilaquiles if you're in the mood though. They've come out quick enough for the chips to still have some crunch texture with the sauce. Enjoy!

Tres Amigos- Taco, Chile relleno, Tamale
    Love G.

This place is beautiful, clean, and inviting! Serice was amazing, top notch! The food was absolutely delicious! I was surprised it came so fast as some reviews stated food took too long. It came as fast as fresh food can arrive. Armando was one of our servers, he's very good at remembering what you order without writing it down! I ordered Tres Amigos. Chicken taco, Chicken Tamale with green sauce, and chile relleno. Chicken taco was much smaller than I expected, so Im glad I ordered tres amigos. It was tasty though. Next time I know to order 2. The chicken Tamale was very tasty!!! It had a bit of lime flavor, which I love! So I'll definitely order that again! The chile relleno literally beat any I've EVER had! The cheese was so perfectly melted. It was perfectly breaded! The pepper wasn't too spicy, just enough for me! I like spicy, but not burn your face off spicy. So it was perfect! My husband got the barbacoa burrito wet with green sauce. He said the barbacoa is better than Los Jarritos. Which is saying a lot because he doesn't like ANYWHERE but Los Jarritos! He was very happy with his burrito. He didn't like the green sauce as much as Los, he likes a more watery green sauce. He said this green sauce was too creamy. Which I disagree, I like a thicker creamier green sauce like this one. I thought it was well done, just my opinion. We often disagree. To each their own! All in all this place is a hit, and we will definitely be back to try more!!! ***Must try new restaurant in Downtown La Verne

My recent fixation is their #21 Super Combo Burrito Enchilada Style - an absolute must-try if you want something delicious, filling, and overall satisfying to eat. But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.

After trying Chef José's Zacatecan style fare, consider a new addition bullseyed and pinpointed! I'd stumbled in here a few nights ago- Mexico had just defeated a hearty South Korea squad in their second WC game, clinching the Group for El Tri and creating a palpable buzz among the Green/Orange & Red clad partisans who'd thronged El Ranchero... Leti and I shared a bowl of hearty Albondigas Soup to start- This is probably the finest restaurant take on the soup we've ever sampled! Most places will serve watery, tomato/carrot dense broths w/ a nominal, wan meatball. Not El Ranchero! Here, the soup is lovingly ladled w/ copious amounts of carrot, onion, cabbage and yes even a trio of meatballs. Hearty, decadent soup! We also shared a Jamaica Margarita. On the plus side it's $13 tab is decently priced- but if we are honest the drink was weaker than the Trump Administration is on corruption! Leti chose Shrimp Fajitas, which arrived steaming...Multiple fat shrimp partying w/ grilled onions + peppers. I went w/ a two item combo- A fantastic duo of machaca filled enchilada y taco. The machaca was everything you love re: that protein- Stringy, crispy and well seasoned. Xochitl was our server on this late SAT afternoon as the sun began its lazy descent to the western horizon. The rest of the restaurant staff were busily prepping the banquet room for a graduation party- So poor Xoxhitl was jamming like a trio of cats playing w/ a dozen mice. She was even mixing drinks in between serving her sextet of tables! Pro Tip- You can add a side salad or soup to most entrees for $3.99- Just ask! Our bill was $84 and for two plentiful entrees, a large if wan margarita and a side of wondrous, soul-warming soup...plus tax and tip. It's very easy to see why El Ranchero Claremont is a buzzing hub of its community- We've added El Ranchero to our must-visit Mexican staples. So should you.

We ordered three different meats, but when our food arrived, every single item was cold. The tortillas were so cold they had become hard and stiff instead of soft and fresh.
