Shrimp, fish and chicken tacos. YUM!

We've been here twice now and really love the food. We had tacos one day and Breakfast burritos and a burrito bowl another day. Yum! Very friendly staff. On Taco Tuesday they have really great prices for the basic tacos. Free chips and salsa as well. Food takes a wee bit longer to prepare than other places but it is cooked to order and yummy. Overall the prices are good. Def coming back.

You walk into a simple restaurant layout with a few tables outside. You order your food and they take the food to your table. The cashier was pleasant and provided excellent service to my wife and I. The prices are on the higher end but they do provide a good sized portion. I ordered the Queso Birria Tacos and my wife ordered an Asada Flaming Hot Burrito. Additionally, we got a Michiagua de Pina (Sweetened Drink of Pineapple w/Michelada Sauce) to share. The tacos looked delicious and the cheese was crispy around the taco. The birria was packed inside taco itself which I was happy about considering the price. Unfortunately, the meat was bland which was disappointing. I only tasted the onion, cilantro, cheese and the sauce. I wouldn't recommend the queso birria tacos for this reason. My wife's Asada burrito was really good. The meat was soft and was full of flavor. The meat paired well with the Mexican rice, beans and hot Cheetos. I would definitely recommend the burrito. The drink was also delicious. The miche sauce mixed with the pineapple juice was a perfect blend of spice and sweet. I gave this place a 3 star review due to the bland meat in my tacos. I would come back to try something else if given the opportunity.

Good tacos but really overpriced. I almost paid $10 for two small tacos and they took a while to make. Will go back and give it another shot

My husband and I have now ordered from here twice on DoorDash so we haven't physically been to the restaurant itself. HOWEVER, we enjoyed the quesa tacos, birria tacos, and sopes. I prefer the asada or pastor. My husband ordered buche and cabeza. He mentioned the buche wasn't his favorite and the cabeza was ok. But we literally always crave the horchata. It's so good and smooth! Idk what they do to this one but we think about the horchata often.

Downtown La Verne has so many options. I'm a fan of Mexican food so I dropped in this place. It's nice and spacious inside. Simple layout with a very clear and bright menu. They have a self service monitor where you can order or you can order at the counter with the staff. The food was good nothing mind blowing but it is quality meat. I wasn't a fan of the sauce in the California burrito it caught me off guard. The habanero salsa has a good kick and great flavor. The horchata was good but we aren't here to rate the aguas frescas. I'll definitely be back to try more options on the menu.

Tacos La Villa has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a satisfying, flavor-packed meal! Their burritos and fries are delicious, especially the chorizo one. It's packed with flavor and seriously hits the spot every time. Their agua frescas are also a must! So refreshing, not too sweet, and the perfect complement to the meal. You can really taste the freshness in everything they serve. What makes it even better? The pricing! You get generous portions and high-quality food without breaking the bank. Great value all around. I haven't had the chance to visit in person yet, but I've been loving every bite from my takeout orders, and I'm definitely looking forward to stopping by soon!

We have come here multiple times as we love to support small businesses however, the feedback seems to go unnoticed and again we end up with food that was cold and not cooked to order. We were the only people in the restaurant and it took 40min for two meals. A burrito and chilaquiles plate. My beans were so cold they must have just been pulled out of the fridge and my eggs were not medium like I requested, in fact they were so chopped up and over cooked they were almost non existent. I do hope they can turn it around as I do think they have the potential to be great. But with only a 3.8 as of the day I'm writing this it's obvious I'm not the only one with major concerns.

Came for Taco Tuesday. Disappointed. we had a variety. lengua,Pollo, asada chorizo. None were good far to heavy with the onions and nowhere near enough hotsaucce. meat had no distict flavor and was bland. we got hit with a .75 service fee when asked we were told it was for credit card use, we paid cash. they didn't even offer to refund it. we will not be back too many other taco places near by that are better

This spot is awesome! Super consistent tacos and open early in the morning and late at night. I personally love the flamin hot tacos/burritos and Cali burritos. The service is also super consistent and the cashiers/servers are always friendly.

The food look better then it taste. Disappointing.

I'm not usually a Mexican food kind of person, so this was a pleasant surprise. The cheese was flavorful, and the ground beef and beans added so much to every bite too! And of course, you can never go wrong with sour cream haha. I wasn't planning on taking leftovers this time, so one of the servers recommended I get the small instead of the large, and I'm glad I listened! Even the "small" was still super loaded and filling. I was struggling to finish it by the end haha. All in all, I would definitely come back again and reorder the Nachos lol. One of our friends got the La Paloma Wings, and they looked so appetizing that I'm already thinking about trying those next time! The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful with all my questions, which made the experience that much more enjoyable!!

But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.

After trying Chef José's Zacatecan style fare, consider a new addition bullseyed and pinpointed! I'd stumbled in here a few nights ago- Mexico had just defeated a hearty South Korea squad in their second WC game, clinching the Group for El Tri and creating a palpable buzz among the Green/Orange & Red clad partisans who'd thronged El Ranchero... Leti and I shared a bowl of hearty Albondigas Soup to start- This is probably the finest restaurant take on the soup we've ever sampled! Most places will serve watery, tomato/carrot dense broths w/ a nominal, wan meatball. Not El Ranchero! Here, the soup is lovingly ladled w/ copious amounts of carrot, onion, cabbage and yes even a trio of meatballs. Hearty, decadent soup! We also shared a Jamaica Margarita. On the plus side it's $13 tab is decently priced- but if we are honest the drink was weaker than the Trump Administration is on corruption! Leti chose Shrimp Fajitas, which arrived steaming...Multiple fat shrimp partying w/ grilled onions + peppers. I went w/ a two item combo- A fantastic duo of machaca filled enchilada y taco. The machaca was everything you love re: that protein- Stringy, crispy and well seasoned. Xochitl was our server on this late SAT afternoon as the sun began its lazy descent to the western horizon. The rest of the restaurant staff were busily prepping the banquet room for a graduation party- So poor Xoxhitl was jamming like a trio of cats playing w/ a dozen mice. She was even mixing drinks in between serving her sextet of tables! Pro Tip- You can add a side salad or soup to most entrees for $3.99- Just ask! Our bill was $84 and for two plentiful entrees, a large if wan margarita and a side of wondrous, soul-warming soup...plus tax and tip. It's very easy to see why El Ranchero Claremont is a buzzing hub of its community- We've added El Ranchero to our must-visit Mexican staples. So should you.

The "band" ended up being one man performing, so we accepted the explanation and sat elsewhere. A few minutes later, another couple walked in, asked for a booth, and was seated there without any issue. That immediately made us feel like we weren't valued as customers. It was Taco Tuesday, and we were excited to see fresh tortillas being made. Unfortunately, instead of serving fresh tortillas, they opened the container holding older tortillas and plated those for us. We ordered three different meats, but when our food arrived, every single item was cold. The tortillas were so cold they had become hard and stiff instead of soft and fresh. When we mentioned it to the staff, we were told the food gets cold because they have a fan blowing directly toward it. That's not really an acceptable explanation Between the inconsistent seating, poor customer service, and cold, flavorless food, the experience was extremely disappointing. We left feeling unwelcome, and the food itself was far from the authentic Mexican cuisine we were hoping for. Sadly, we won't be returning.
