Friendly which is shocking because you know our peoples are harsh. I went there for lunch and the food was fresh and well seasoned

Came here on a Saturday late afternoon for dinner for 5 people before a concert at the UBS Center…read more We had made a reservation but the place has plenty of available seating. We sat and was serviced downstairs versus being upstairs. Downstairs had a more chill vibe while upstairs was more vibrant and lively The place had a great vibe, mural on the walls up to the stairs, a flower wall with a swing. Great aesthetics for pictures. Between the individuals in our party, we ordered calamari, thai curry mussels, red red snapper with the sweet, spicy sauce and without, lamb chops and six boss. The lamb chops were a tad overcooked, but the rest of the food was really good Our drinks were nice. Service was a tad slow, but good experience overall.

The waffles resembled frozen Belgian waffles from a box, and the chicken was so heavily seasoned with orange coloring, presumably from adobo, that it resembled sweet potatoes on my plate. The entire meal was unsatisfactory. When the server inquired about our meal, we responded negatively. He then collected the plates and asked if there was anything we wished him to convey to the kitchen about the food. We declined, and he proceeded to present the bill. Upon noticing we had not consumed our meal, he asked if we wished to take it, to which we responded negatively. He did not involve the manager or undertake any further measures.

Time for an updated review because credit is definitely due…read more For nearly the past year, The Door has been in our family's Friday night dinner rotation. Every Friday, my four of us pick a different takeout spot, and without fail, someone always says, "Can we just get The Door?" We've had the curry goat, Rasta pasta, jerk chicken, fried chicken, oxtail, Esco chicken, soups, and the chicken patttttttties... mi God. Mi never taste a food wicked suh yet! Everything is consistently flavorful, fresh, and cooked with love. It's honestly become one of our go to spots because we know exactly what we're getting every single time. In my previous review, I mentioned a less than stellar experience. Looking back, maybe they were just having an off day or maybe I got the pot bottom. Whatever the reason, they've been nothing short of amazing ever since. Whether they changed chefs or tightened things up, whatever you're doing... DON'T CHANGE NADA! And I have to give an honorary shout out to Desrene, one of the wonderful team members who takes the takeout orders. She is ALWAYS pleasant, professional, and genuinely kind. It honestly brightens my day whenever I hear her voice on the other end of the phone. Consistency is everything in the restaurant business, and The Door has absolutely earned this updated 5-star review. Keep doing what you're doing!

They have cut down the portion of the food and plus the wait is ridiculous. I called way advanced for my order and still you have to wait at least 45 minutes for your order. Every bite was full of flavor, and the meat practically fell off the bone. The doubles were just as impressive. The bara was soft and fresh, the channa was perfectly seasoned, and the tamarind and pepper sauces brought everything together with the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the flavors taste just like homemade Trini cooking. Whether you're a longtime fan of Trinidadian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Trinciti delivers every time. Highly recommended!

The shop is steady busy with takeout orders and the occasional folks (like me) who wanted to sit and enjoy my first doubles there. They only have two tables and chairs. Most people order to go. You may order at the kiosk and wait for your number to be called when it is ready to pick up. The kiosk is good because it easily shows all the sauces you may add to your doubles and the variety of other things like drinks, etc you may order. There is also the option to get in line and place your oder. You can watch the assembly line of workers quickly making food. Then check out with the cashier. They sell lots of different cakes, breads, nuts, and drinks too. I was a little overwhelmed on what to order, but a nice employee helped me out. I showed him what I was trying to order and asked for suggestions. Thanks to him I had the best doubles! Added tamarind sauce, mango chutney, and the benny sauce. The perfect vegetarian meal for $2.50! It is made of roti (flatbread), curried chickpeas, and topped with the sauces. Then rolled up to make a sandwich. So flavorful! I wasn't too sure which drink to get as I wasn't sure what they all tasted like. Chose the Seamoss drink, which is a mix of milk, seams, nutmeg, and some spices. Milky and not overly sweet. This was good. Maybe next time I'll get sorrel, which is hibiscus. They said the peanut drink is good too. Ordered Pholourie with tamarind sauce. These are fried savory dough balls. I couldn't resist getting a sweet treat. So, I randomly picked the salara bread, which looks like a cinnamon swirl bread slice. It is actually stuffed with shredded coconut that is colored red and tastes like cherry. Pretty good and not overly sweet. Definitely add this place to your list of eats in Queens. It is a trek from the city, but so good! Also, nice that it is a little bit away from the loud busy part of Liberty Ave in Richmond Hill. This is about a 15-20 min walk from there on Lefferts Blvd. Restroom available.
