I've eaten a lot of "fast" mexican, but this one probably takes the cake. The food was fresh and tasty. I got 3 fried tacos with guac salad. The tacos had a unique mango pico on them which was very tasty and went well with the hot salsa I'd requested. The food was really good. We had the lunch specials. I had tostada/chulupa with rice and beans and my husband had a beef enchilada with rice and beans. The tea was fresh and the server asked us if we wanted tea to go. He fixed a new cup for each of us. The ambiance was welcoming, clean and spacious. The restrooms were clean. First time here. Great outdoor seating which is rare in this area for some reason. Chips and salsa were great. Sauce isn't watered down and tomato texture and flavor with good spice. Chips with good corn flavor. Not just plain cut up pieces of a tortilla. I had the lunch portion chicken fajitas (pictured) I chose corn tortillas and they gave me five which was great so my husband could have one too. A lot of food for a smaller (lunch) portion which was also a plus. He agreed it was much better than his pork burrito (pictured) and beef taco. They were decent but meh... a 3 have had much better. Decent place. Per usual, I got the pastor street tacos . They don't seem to do those super traditional here. It says four on the menu but there was actually three. Not a problem because they were stuffed to the brim with the meat. It said onion and cilantro on the side but it was really just actually like a bowl of salsa type deal. It came with this super freaking spicy red sauce. Omg it was like out of this world hot. Lol. Yikes. Then when I got home, I smelled the Mexican all over my clothes and hair. Wow! The chips and salsa here are superb. Our meal was good. I did not care for the Red Sox on the enchiladas. It was a little too sweet for my liking, but everything else was really good and the ground beef was not overly saturated and fat and oil like a lot of other Mexican restaurants in the area. Our waiter was very helpful and very attentive. I will say what made our entire visit was the desert. We ordered the churros, and they brought out piping hot filled churros, covered and cinnamon and sugar and then next to those was a bowl of the most delicious cinnamon ice cream I've ever had in my entire life. read more

Just moved from Texas. Eager to find decent Mexican style food. Tried this place for family dinner on a Thursday evening around 6pm. Parking lot was full. Walked inside and was immediately greeted by a male and female host. Was seated promptly at a booth (booths and table seating available) Our served Fernando came and took our drink order very quickly. a young food runner gave us a basket of delicious warm chips and a mini carafe of salsa + 3 mini bowls. salsa was very good. smooth not chunky style. We got enchiladas, tacos, burritos and rice and beans. everyone loved their food. Fair warning: the portion sizes are very large. Dont assume you wont be full or dont have enough on a plate. an extra side" of rice or beans is an entire Plate of either. go slow because they have a large affordable dessert menu to try also. Inside was clean. Our table and seats were clean not sticky. Murals on the walls very nice. good lighting. spacious. tables are quickly cleared. Bathrooms not so amazing. decent and usable. Staff is friendly and our waiter was familiar with all the menu items and options. example they offered me crunchy or soft taco (soft flour). being from texas i eat my street tacos on soft corn. I decided to order online for take-out, to try the food first. The food was REALLY good and the price point was just right. I ordered the ultimate combo plate, because it has a little bit of everything. This place may have the best cruchy tacos around and the beef is not greasy with lots of flavor. Still new to Kansas City (less than six months) we continue to try new restaurants of all stripes with an emphasis on BBQ. One type we hadn't tried until last night was Mexican. We decided on Mi Hacienda since our family had been in and had a good experience. We were game. We found a fairly large space. It wasn't busy but between Monday night and the covid, perfectly understandable. We were seated quickly. Chips, salsa, and drinks followed in short order. I thought the chips were bland and the salsa was consistent and good, but on the uber-mild side (which my wife liked). Your mileage may vary. Our server was Luis. He was very efficient and attentive. I opted for shrimp fajitas. They came out hot, as they should. The serving size was adequate, but not overly so. The tortillas were on the small side and came wrapped in foil. I would have expected a tortilla plate with a cap. No biggy. Other dishes for the table included a burrito and a taco salad. Again, serving sizes were only adequate. That said, I don't think anyone but myself finished their food. They were getting ready to close by the end of our meal and I did feel it was all a tad rushed, but I totally get it. Overall, this was a respectable meal especially given the prices which are very reasonable. Pro tip: you are required to pay at the register. I recommend Mi Hacienda for those in the area and jonesing for Mexican. I won't rule out a return visit but not before I try other Mexican restaurants as well. It's pretty hard to screw up enchiladas. Like, REALLY hard. They were gross. Nothing about this is "authentic" like older reviews say. A go to spot for me in Liberty, MO. Sometimes you just want a hearty portion of solid mexican food at a reasonable cost. This is your place for that. I personally order the combination dishes, my favorite is number 4 (One cheese enchilada, one beef enchilada, with a side of beans and rice). The portions are very generous, and you can easily buy a large meal for 2 for $20. I love that they have a drive through where you can pick up your order. This is very COVID friendly. This was my first time trying this restaurant and I'm pretty disappointed. I had my wife bring me home some fish tacos with chips and rice. The chips and salsa are very good, the rice is decent, and the fish tacos are bad. They are literally just a piece of fish with lettuce and a small slice of cheese. No pico, no cilantro, just a piece of fish.. So, as you can imagine the fish taco essentially tastes like I'm just eating a piece of fish with nothing else. I use to think this place was good...and it is but only if I want chicken soft tacos. When it comes to burritos, they either make it weird or forget something. For example, ingredients go INSIDE the burrito, right? Well you'd be suprised how many "burritos" here are "topped" with lettuce, tomato, sour cream etc. Wtf? Put it all inside! Today, I ordered the burrito fajitas. Its described as "Burrito Fajita Choice of steak or chicken with lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream, topped with pico de gallo. Served with rice and beans" Well they forgot the guacamole, sour cream AND pico. I was too hungry to wait another 10 minutes to replace it. This makes at least the 3rd time the burrito was either wrong or I have specially request they put everything inside the tortilla. I'm done. If I ever want chicken soft tacos, I'll stop by. This place is not the best Mexican I've had by any stretch but it's far from the worst also. Pretty good overall I'd say. I definitely wasn't disappointed by it. I would have given it another star but I feel like it's slightly overpriced. I'd say as far as cost it's on par with Chipotle although to be fair when you order guacamole, unlike the aforementioned, they do give you a LOT of it. A Place To Try Mexican TV Dinners In Real Life Went today at lunch, they weren't very busy and the service was extremely slow, our waiter seemed more interested in his phone than working or making sure our drinks didn't run out. When our food came, I literally thought when I tasted the first bite that a Mexican tv dinner would have more taste. They forgot my beans and rice and on top of it, my burrito had the same ingredients (only ground beef) as my taco. The difference? The burrito had a larger tortilla. The chips and salsa were ok, however, one could pick up something from the grocery aisle that had more flavor or someone making it that had more care. We thought we'd try something different then Jose Peppers but I was embarrassed for the establishment, it was disgusting.
