We had a nice first visit here. Big menu with lots of options. The combos meal with chicken taco, chicken burrito, and chicken flautas were around $15 and tasty with rice and beans. They Pepsi products which was great, and lots of creative alcoholic drinks. The fried ice cream was huge and very good, highly recommend that! Desserts were all under $6 too. Service was ok. read more

I went to lunch at La Costa Mexicana on Saturday, September 12th. We didn't need reservations and it was nice to be seated right away when we arrived by 12:30pm. A server greeted us as soon as we were seated. We asked for ice water as we didn't know what beverages to order yet. The server provided us with ice water, plus chips and 2 containers of salsa. The chips and salsa were good that we had to ask for more tortilla chips. I ordered a Fajita Taco Salad with chicken, plus I asked for extra fajita vegetables and my friend ordered Chicken Fajitas. The lunch entrees were delivered to our table without delay. I specifically asked for additional grilled fajita vegetables and I even said that I would pay extra, but I did not receive what I asked for. Instead I was provided with extra black beans in the Fajita taco salad. I did not request for black beans. I did not want to return the entree to the kitchen and I just dropped the small issue as I just wanted to eat lunch. The Fajita Taco Salad was satisfactory in taste, but the black beans mixed in the taco salad made the taco shell soggy. My friend liked the Chicken Fajita lunch entree and the portion size was decent. I will go back to La Costa Mexican again to try other entrees. read more

We have been in several times in the past few months. The fajitas and burritos are delicious with generous portions. I love the margarita and beer selection. The service is always friendly and quick. The rotating specials make is a regular place for us to be able to try different things. read more

Food was very good, pork carnitas street tacos flavors were front and forward, salsa tasty and margarita refreshing. Service was great. Thank you! The building use to be a hardware store and the east wall has that memory of the past. We also enjoyed the farmers market that morning. read more

This was a good place! We went here because they had both vegetarian choices and a kids menu. They did not disappoint! They were able to advise us on the rice (made with water, not chicken broth) and beans (get the black beans to be vegetarian, not the refried beans). My spouse got the vegetarian burrito, I got veggie enchiladas, and my kiddo got the cheese quesadilla with rice. They also give you unlimited chips and salsa for free. One thing I liked was they give each person a little dish of salsa, instead of just one for the table. Chips were good but could be salted more. Food was good. I really liked my enchiladas. Service was also good - they came by plenty to ask if we wanted refills on chips/salsa, and a manager came through to ask everyone if they were doing ok. The booth was comfortable, and the AC was good -- not too cold but refreshing to come into. The only thing that wasn't great was the bathroom -- one stall was out of order, one was a mess from a previous occupant, and the other had a door that didn't latch shut; luckily no one else came in while I used it. I would definitely come back here and probably will! read more

Alright - we found our new margarita spot. Worth the $, 100%. When we arrived, check-in was a bit hectic. Once we were seated, I noticed the fun and bright decor throughout the restaurant. Our waitress was so kind. Food arrived very quickly and was nice & hot. The margs are STRONG so be careful! Loved their salsa and QDip. It tasted like an authentic espinaca dip. Chips were fresh and crispy. We will definitely be back. read more

Couldn't decide how to rate this establishment, 3 or 4 star service was great! I'm just not a fan of junkie interior, which really is a put off, all the random candy and junk for sale, not a good look. Moving on, I did not care for the chips taste like old fry grease. Nor did i like salsa. What I did enjoy was my Black margarita and shrimp cocktail . I tasted others refried beans they were tasty. My husband and brother-in-law really enjoyed the birro tacos, lots of chucks of meat in them. Overall would not return. read more

Well, we initially were really excited to try this place out as we had a couple different people tell us how good it was. Simply put, it was the first and last time we will ever be going here for a meal. The only good thing about our dinner was the chips and salsa, and the cheese dip. For starters when we came inside, we stood by the "host" stand (if you want to even call it that because they don't seem to have a host/hostess) for about 10 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. When they did speak to us finally, it was just to tell us it would be 5 minutes and then he walked away. We weren't seated for another 10-15 minutes, and they almost skipped over us completely because they didn't even know who they spoke to first. By this time there were about 10 people behind us also waiting for a table. If they truly were jam packed i would have been more understanding, but half the tables were empty and just not cleared off yet. Once we were seated we just tried to figure out what we wanted as quickly as possible so we could get out of there. Our server was super short with us and never refilled our drinks. After we got our food we weren't spoke to again until long after we had both finished eating and once we got the check we waited again for another 10-15 minutes before anyone came to take our payment. In addition earlier in the day I had made a quick call in to see if they did reservations. The lady on the phone seemed pissed she had to speak to me at all. I said I wanted to make a reservation, and she didn't even take my name and hung up on me when I went to give it to her. WAY better places in the area to get reasonably priced and better serviced Mexican food. read more

This review is primarily for drinks and appetizers as we did not eat. We stopped by this restaurant to watch the Puerto Rico Vs Mexico World Baseball Classic. Staff was wonderful. The food is delicious! Hot and fresh. People are friendly. The place is neat and clean. We go there quite abit.

Mexican food is a favorite of ours. After passing La Costa on my daily walks for several weeks (we are in the area for an extended stay) I decided to make it a celebratory meal. It was an excellent choice! The food was delicious. Guacamole appetizer. I miss made table side fresh guacamole, but this was close. Dinner was taco salad for me and taco plate for the hubby...both excellent. Chips and salsa were kept full. Early dinner on Thursday had no wait time, but we certainly were not alone (a good testimony). If visiting on the weekend I would expect a wait time. Family friendly. Good service.Prices were average range (~$15/person without alcohol). Maybe I will make it back for a Margarita. They seemed popular. read more

Tried this place on a whim and were very pleased with our experience! Great food and customer service. Free chips with salsa started to flow once we were seated. Yum. So hard to stop eating them! Once we finished them off, more were already on the way. I was deciding between their carnitas tacos and steak fajitas and asked the waiter his opinion. He said he would surprise me. I trusted him. What he delivered was a carnitas fajita plate (not on the menu?) that was amazing. Glad I trusted him. My wife was equally thrilled about her shredded chicken quesadilla. The torn vinyl seats and dirty walls were off putting at first glance but honestly I didn't pay for a Michelin Star experience. Nor did I expect it. What I experienced surpassed my expectations beautifully, with haste and pizazz! Was this "authentic" Mexican food? Nope - very American. But it does a good job being what it is. Maybe my review is overvalued, but if I get the same service and experience I had tonight every time I visit, they can keep it! read more

Came to this place on a spur of the moment to get a few tacos and a drink or two. Its right on the Liberty square and pretty big. We were quickly seated and our server was quick to get drink order. I got a big margarita but without the sweet and sour and all that, I think they made it with Sprite and lime. It was refreshing but didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it so I got shot on the side. It was taco Tuesday so I got one of the taco specials, 3 fried tacos for 5.99 and my S.O got 3 crunchy for 4.99. The tacos were really good but if I had to pick I think I liked his crunchy more than my fried. We also each got a side of beans and rice. I think the portion was small for the price, almost $4 each and they weren't very warm. Also I LOVE beans and rice especially from Mexican restaurants, but those were not great not a lot of flavor and just pretty disappointing. I would give come back especially on taco Tuesday and they have good drink deals for beer and the traditional margaritas, the beans and rice they can keep. read more

The staff act like family and they love what they do and they also put a lot of passion into their cooking. So if you're looking for something a little bit more authentic come here, but also if you are in a hurry let them know so they can give your check in advance otherwise you're going to be waiting some extra minutes before it arrives or flagging down someone else who didn't wait on you. Other than that I would say this is a pretty laid-back place if you have children don't bring them around night time because some of the staff members will be taking shots with their customers. Bottom line: The only three redeeming qualities of this place are: 1. Taco Tuesday 2. Their spicy salsa 3. And spicy peppers and onions And that's pretty much it. Last time I was there they served my food cold and never came to check on me until giving me my receipt. This was my lunch time place, but I stopped going because they don't check in on me, and I only have an allotted time for lunch. read more

My rating is based on the service we received. We decided to celebrate our anniversary with lunch. It was 1 pm and there were very few guests in the restaurant. We waited to be seated over 5 minutes. We were yelled at from the back of the restaurant but with the music and ambient noise, we could not understand what was said. Finally, a person, who I think was the bus boy showed us to a booth and served us chips and salsa. We waited quite a while before our waiter, Donis, (who was the person who yelled something from the back) came to take our order. We asked what beers they had and Modelo was a choice. I asked if it was Negra Modelo, at which he rolled his eyes and started listing beers again. I asked again if it was Negra Modelo, and was told no, just Modelo. No biggie but his impatience was palpable. The bus boy brought us our beers, and refreshed our chips and salsa. When our food arrived, our server, Donis, slammed my plate at edge of table and declared the plate was hot. He made no attempt to moved it in front of me. I had to wad up napkins to move it. When Donis brought my husband's plate, he literally threw it on the table, said the plate was hot, but made no attempt to put it in front of my husband. Wadded up napkins saved the day again. I would have blamed it on the temperature of the plates but Donis used hot pads. We were left to fend for ourselves. I rarely finish my meals and only ate 1 of the birria tacos (which was excellent). I laid my debit card on the table to indicate we were ready to pay, Donis grabbed it, and then slammed the paperwork on the table and left. I never had a chance to ask for a box. I usually give wait staff the benefit of the doubt, but when waiting on other tables, Donis was pleasant, and greeting people waiting to be seated as "brother," etc. Even though the food was great, we will never go back. read more

I rate this with one star because there isn't an option to go less. We visited with our four young children and they each ordered a kids meal. My oldest could live on Queso blanco so we ordered some, but it came with spinach and tomato chunks in it. Probably the worst Queso I have ever had. My youngest ordered the Mac and cheese... $6 for a small bowl of Kraft macaroni from the box. Barf. My middle two enjoyed their meals, but out of the six of us, they were the only ones. My husband and I each ordered a burrito. They were both incredibly bland and the meat was like an after thought. Most of the burrito was rice, unfortunately. Both of our burritos were supposed to be "smothered" as well, but there wasn't even extra sauce around the outside of the burrito. I asked my husband what he thought of his meal and he said "terrible, horrible". Save yourself the time and money. Don't go to this place. Easily the worst Mexican food I have ever had. read more

I may have found a go-to Mexican restaurant for my family. We were welcomed by a friendly host and seated right away on a Saturday night. Chips and salsa were just how I like them: thin chips and not too spicy. The waiter was fun and even ordered for my husband since he was unable to decide between two entrees. They were prompt with our food and made sure our water was never empty. And of course...the food! Delicious. No complaints here! I had the chicken quesadilla and the meat was shredded and flavorful. It came with sour cream, pico, lettuce and guacamole, (no additional charge for the guacamole like some restaurants do). My husband had the carnitas and also thought they were delicious. All and all a great authentic Mexican restaurant. read more

Got food to go here on a weeknight. Easily placed my order online and the food was ready in the window it said it would be ready at. I liked how they had a vegetarian section. I got guacamole and the vegetarian combo with a black bean burrito, cheese and onion enchilada, and black bean tostada. They slowed me to substitute the red sauce with their queso. It was decently priced and I had leftovers. The food was good, I especially enjoyed the tostada and the burrito. The enchilada left something to be desired but overall good experience! COVID tip: No mask mandate when we went and the server was not wearing a mask either. read more

Terrible service and terrible food tonight. Met two friends who had been seated with chip crumbs and salsa. Our patience was tested but we finally flagged down a guy on his cell phone who was working the bar. We gave our order, note this is at least 45 minutes after sitting-and it was another 45 minutes before our food came and was practically thrown at us. The food order was correct but the meat was over cooked and dried out (chicken and steak) or mush (ground beef). Not one of us ate much and when someone finally came by to give us our checks, our complaints were met with literally no response, only a blank stare. Do not waste your time or money. So disappointed. read more

Used Yelp to order food from La Costa. After 2 hours, Grub Hub informed me that La Costa was not letting them pick up any orders. That they would only fulfill orders if you called the restaurant (phone doesn't work) or walked in. I find it very poor business to allow online orders only to notify the customer over 2 hours later that they would not be fulfilling the order. I highly recommend visiting one of the other local Mexican restaurants to Liberty and avoiding this one. read more

If you're looking for a quiet, cozy, authentic, and packed with flavor Mexican food, this is the spot. I had been wanting to check it out, and I'm so glad I did. Located in downtown Liberty right on the square, is a little teal and yellow painted restaurant sure to catch your attention when you walk by. A joint restaurant with a bigger side to it, you walk in and immediately are greeted to sit where you please. The walls are lined with bright colors and paintings adding to the authentic vibe. Although the device is a little slow, the food comes out hot, fresh and delicious. I ordered the lunch size (perfect size; not too big but not too small) chimichanga with the white queso on top. As much as I love a nice fried chimichanga, most places can't get the texture correct and make it too soggy. NOT THIS PLACE!! They deep fried it to perfection. It was crunchy just the way I like it. It was topped with tomatoes lettuce and served with rice and beans. The beans were one of my favorites too. We also ordered the lunch chicken fajitas and the steak ones too. ALL were amazing. They also have really fresh and vivid salsa with thin chips. I will for sure be coming back here. Especially when Groupon has their deals with them. HIGHLY recommended! read more
